Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Asmodus may not be the most prolific when it comes to releasing atomizers, but when they do they are usually of a very high standard.

The Zesthia RTA is their latest entry, and it is a 24mm single coil RTA, that promises to be a must-have RTA for flavor enthusiasts.

It features a polished structure and a short chimney design, with dual terminal build deck with dual slotted bottom airflow control.

It has a 4.5ml juice capacity and is also available in the EU with a TPD regulated rubber plug (removable).

The Good

Looks good, excellent build quality, smooth versatile airflow, brilliant flavor production.

The Bad

Proprietary drip tip and no 510 adapter included.

The Bottom Line

The Zesthia RTA certainly deserves more praise; it is an excellent single coil RTA with Asmodus’ outstanding build quality. It can produce an exceptionally flavorful restricted lung vape, along with some mighty impressive clouds for a single coil tank. Definitely one of the best on the market – recommended.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

There’s nothing outlandish or too daring about the design of the Zesthia RTA.

It’s precisely what you’d expect from Asmodus, excellent build quality, and a refined design.

The Zesthia RTA is 24mm in diameter with a 4.5ml capacity and is exclusively a single coil RTA.

It features enormous dual bottom airflow slots, an easy to use top fill system and is currently available in Gold, Silver, Black, and Blue.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Style

Asmodus have kept the Zesthia free from over branding, and it’s a subtle and sleek looking single coil RTA.

The chimney features two small laser-etched ‘Asmodus’ logos, there’s the slight hint of knurling on the AFC and along the top of the main chamber. But other than that it is quite a plain affair.

That’s how I like my tanks to look, clean simple and elegant, which is something Asmodus do very well.

The only thing I’m not overly fond of with the design is the chunky proprietary drip tip. It doesn’t look terrible, but not having a 510 adapter or the ability to switch out for my own is kind of a bummer.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Build Quality

Whether it’s atomizers or mods, Asmodus always seem to have some of the best build quality in the industry.

The Zesthia is another example of that, all of the threading is buttery smooth, and the o-ring tolerances are perfect.

Asmodus use their own style of green o-rings (and include spares), which feel more durable than the standard ones you usually see.

Excellent build quality, especially for the price point.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Innovation

Asmodus are no strangers to innovation, as we’ve seen with the Spruzza squonk mode.

However, with the Zesthia they have played it safe and simply taken aspects from other popular RTA’s and tweaked them in their own style.

Build Deck8.5
Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Asmodus have called the build deck of the Zesthia a dual hot dog style deck.

While I can kind of see the resemblance, I’m not so sure it needed a specific name. But it is a very easy to use build deck.

It’s basically a two-post, two-terminal deck, much like that of the Serpent SMM from Wotofo.

Having a single coil deck like this with four terminals gives you the advantage of being able to wrap your coils in any direction you want, and they will fit just fine.

Each terminal is controlled by gold-plated hex screws which again have excellent threading, and there are spares included. On either sie of the deck are two large wicking ports, which sit inline with juice control holes on the main chimney chamber.

The chimney has a slight dome effect and is relatively small in size, which will undoubtedly help with flavor.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Wicking

In essence, this is a GTA style build deck, and what we’ve come to experience with these style decks is getting the wicking right is essential.

If you don’t have enough cotton, they are prone to leaking and too much cotton will stifle the juice and cause wicking issues.

I’ve used both 2.5 and 3mm ID coils in the Zesthia, and have found both require a slight combing out of the wick to fluff them up a little and help the juice feed.

You need to make sure you cut your wicks, so the cotton touches the base of the wicking port, a couple of times when I cut mine too short I did have some leaking.

Although it’s not the easiest deck to get the wicking right, I don’t think it’s any worse than other decks of this style.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Refilling

The Zesthia features a standard unscrew top refill cap.

There’s no knurling on the top cap to grip, but there is on the top of the main chamber of the tank. So it’s not too difficult to unscrew.

That’s helped immensely by the excellent machining of the threading on the top cap and decent o-rings.

There are two extremely generous kidney shaped fill ports, so you’ll have no issues using larger bottles.

I’ve had no signs of leaking when refilling, but this will be partly down to how well you wick your build.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Airflow

Tha base of the Zesthia features dual cyclops style air slots, which are fairly substantial in size.

This leads to the Zesthia being able to deliver extremely open airflow for a single coil, and it can easily be turned down to a more restricted vape with the AFC.

The AFC itself is exceptionally smooth to turn and features stoppers at both ends. There’s very slight knurling on it, but it’s not the easiest to grab hold of while connected to your mod. I would’ve liked to have seen slightly more knurling, even if it did detract from the clean aesthetics.

Performance8.6
Asmodus Zesthia RTA

I really don’t understand why there hasn’t been more buzz about this RTA and how it’s somewhat slipped under the radar.

The airflow, flavor and vapor production from the Zesthia are all excellent.

I’m primarily a single coil vaper, I love a flavorful restricted lung vape and have probably tried every single coil RTA going.

I usually keep returning to the Serpent SMM as my daily driver, but that might be about to change as the Zesthia runs it close and even beats it in some aspects like airflow.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Flavor

My first couple of attempts at using this RTA I found the flavor to be good but not great.

That was probably due to the fact I was using a very low ohm coil, at a high wattage and was trying to utilize a lot of that available airflow.

However, once I put in a coil around 0.4-Ohms and set it to a medium wattage with the airflow cut off slightly, then it really started to bang out the flavor.

It is a versatile single coil tank, and the flavor is still good at high wattages and wide open airflow. But it really shines in the mid-wattage range with a restrive airflow.

Asmodus Zesthia RTA

Airflow

For a single coil RTA, the Zesthia has bags of airflow, as much as some dual coils.

That makes it one of the cloudiest single coil tanks I’ve come across, however with all that airflow you will be sacrificing some flavor.

I think it works best with the airflow dialed down half way to a restricted lung vape, at around 40W. You’ll still get nice smooth airflow, but also great flavor.

Overall the Zesthia has a really versatile range of airflow, and it is incredibly smooth.

Verdict

The Zesthia is an outstanding single coil RTA, capable of producing excellent flavor.

It also has some of the most versatile and open airflow from a single coil RTA, which really can push the clouds.

I’m astonished the Zesthia has gone under the radar, as I think this it’s one of the best single coil tanks on the market right now, especially when it comes to build quality.

Asmodus just seem able to produce build quality that’s a notch above some of their Chinese competitors.

If you are in the market for a single coil RTA with a good capacity that can deliver both a restricted and airy vape with impressive flavor, the Zesthia is an excellent choice.
