SMOK Fit Kit

Eleaf’s latest entry to the pod market is the iWu pod system. It features a 2ml capacity refillable pod with leak free side filling and has a protective hollow-out cover design that allows you to conceal the mouthpiece.

Its optimized for MTL vaping with high nicotine or nicotine salts, utilizing a 1.3ohm coil contained within the pod.

It’s an easy to use device with no buttons and is automatic draw activated.

The iWu has an impressive 700mAh inbuilt battery and a four-color indicator light to show your battery status. All housed in a compact and portable design.

The Good

Excellent design, good build quality, interchangeable sleeves, really good flavor and vapor production, impressive battery life.

The Bad

Difficult to see your remaining juice level.

The Bottom Line

The iWu pod system by Eleaf is an excellent starter kit. The design sets it apart with its customizable sleeves. But it’s more than just a funky looking device; it’s one that performs excellently as well. The pods produce great flavor, the draw is smooth, and the battery life is impressive. Highly recommended.

Design8.7
Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

The Eleaf iWu is an all-in-one pod style system that comes in 3 components; the battery, the 2ml capacity pod (including coil) and an interchangeable sleeve.

However, the removable metallic sleeve is present for more than just aesthetics; there’s some real practicality behind it. Not only does it hold the pod securely in place, but it also acts as a guard for the mouthpiece.

The sleeve has two small holes on either side, which line up with ball bearings on the side of the plastic battery section. So if you pull the sleeve up a small amount, the ball bearings will catch on to the second holes and cover the entire mouthpiece acting as a cover or guard while remaining one complete piece. It’s a simple and effective solution and a far better than separate dust caps which are easy to lose.

One firm pull on the sleeve, and it comes off entirely so you can remove the pod and refill it.

The pod is connected to the battery section with a simple press fit, it’s a nice snug fit, and there’s no need for magnets due to the sleeve acting as a cover.

On the base of the battery section, we have a micro USB port for charging and just above there is a small LED indicator light.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Style

I really like what Eleaf have done with the design of the iWu.

It’s a nice blend of futuristic and elegant looks, which all comes down to the color setup you go with. I believe there will also be the option to buy the sleeves separately so you can customize it however you like.

At present, there are 5 color combinations available; Black/Silver, Black/Red, Dazzling/Yellow, Gold/Green and Double Blue.

I think the black and silver version looks classy, and you could potentially get the black cover for that fully murdered out black look.

The device is a little larger than some other pods systems on the market to house the 700mAh internal battery but remains a decent size, and the curved corners of the battery and cover make it fit comfortably in the hand.

I only really have one gripe with the design of the device, and it’s not a huge one.

Eleaf has made the pods slightly tinted, but clear enough that you can see your remaining juice level. But the problem is it’s difficult to see through the top two grates of the sleeve, especially when your juice level is low. I usually end up having to remove the sleeve completely just to double check.

Other than that I really can’t fault the style and design, and I think if you don’t mind the grated look of the cover, there’s plenty of color options to please most vapers.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Build Quality

It’s an Eleaf product, so you know the build quality of all the individual components is going to be on point.

Everything fits together perfectly with the right amount of restriction, and there’s also a nice satisfying click when you slide the sleeve over the battery.

I like the fact they have used metal for the sleeve to give it a more premium feel while keeping the battery casing a sturdy plastic to balance off the weight.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Portability

Speaking of weight, the iWu pod system comes in at a respectable 58.48g.

Its dimensions are 30mm x 14mm x 98mm, which does make a little larger and heavier than some other pods systems on the market.

But it’s still incredibly portable and pocket-friendly, I think it’s the perfect balance of size and battery capacity.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Innovation

This device is all about the design. There are no innovative features or fancy gimmicks to set it apart.

It uses the same type of refillable pods we’ve seen many times before, they only thing that is unique is the design of the covers.

Features8.0
Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

The iWu Aio pod system is inhalation activated, so it doesn’t feature any fire buttons or wattage adjustments. It’s your simple plug and play style device.

It features an in-built 700mAh capacity battery and has a max output of 15W.

The iWu is charged via a micro USB, and there’s also LED indication for the battery status while using and charging.

The are some safety features of over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit, and overdraw protection with a 10-second cutout.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

LED Indicator

Eleaf has made good use of the LED indicator on the iWu. It’s a bright and vibrant light without being too in your face.

It lights up when the device is activated or charging and shows the battery status with the following colors:

  • Green = 100-60%
  • Orange = 59-30%
  • Blue = 29-10%
  • Red = less than 9%

The four-color system is excellent especially compared to other pods on the market.

Pods8.5
Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

The iWu comes with two 2ml capacity empty pods, which feature a fill port and rubber grommet on the side.

The pods connect to the battery through friction and are held in place very securely.

The coils inside the pods are 1.3 Ohm, although it’s not stated what materials are used, I would assume Kanthal.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Refilling

To refill the pods you will need to remove the main sleeve that covers the device, but you do not need to remove the pod from the battery.

The pod has a side fill port, which is plugged with a rubber grommet anchored to the pod itself.

While the fill port is large enough to fit dripper tips, there’s no additional hole for air to escape, so you do have to be a little careful filling.

But on the whole, it’s incredibly easy to refill, compared to some other pods on the market.

### Wicking & Coil Longevity

The iWu pods have had no issues wicking whatsoever.

I’ve been able to use 70/30 VG liquid, and they have kept up with no dry hits.

Obviously, the longevity of your coils is going to be juice dependant, but I’ve managed 7 refills of a pod before I noticed the performance and flavor dropping.

Performance8.9
Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

The performance of the Eleaf iWu has been very impressive.

The pods give really good flavor, have a decent lifespan, and the in-built 700mAh battery can definitely go a long way.

I think Eleaf has done an excellent job in balancing good pod performance and battery life in a unique and well-built package.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Airflow

While the iWu may not feature adjustable airflow like other AIO devices like the Aspire Breeze 2, it does have really good airflow for a pod system.

The draw is comparable to that of the Smok Infinix, it’s not incredibly tight or too loose, but it’s definitely a mouth-to-lung vape.

For me, it’s spot on as I don’t like the draw to be too tight on a pod system. But those that love a traditional extremely tight draw may find it a little loose.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Flavor

The flavor produced by the coils and pods on the iWu is excellent, I’d put it up there as some of the best I’ve had from a pod system.

Though I will say, it does take a little amount of time to break in a fresh pod. But after about 15-20 hits it starts to come through, so be patient.

It’s also a reasonably warm vape unlike some other pods, which I find to be a little too cold on the vapor production.

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Battery Life

This is where the iWu trumps a lot of pod systems of this type, it may be larger but with that size comes almost twice the battery capacity.

The 700mAh battery has been excellent. I’ve easily made it through a day of vaping, so it’s been an ideal companion when I’m heading out for an evening

The iWu also charges pretty quickly, I’ve gone from dead to charged in about an hour.

Verdict

Eleaf iWu Pod AIO System

Eleaf’s has done an excellent job with the iWu AIO pod system.

It’s a unique looking device, but with that distinctive design comes functionality.

The pods produce excellent flavor, some of the best I’ve had from a pod system of this type, and the airflow is smooth with decent vapor production.

I think overall the iWu strikes the perfect balance of performance and portability. It’s comfortable to hold, easy to use and that impressive battery life can easily see you through a day of MTL vaping.

If you are looking for a refillable pod system, the iWu by Eleaf is definitely one a can recommend and probably one of the best on the market.
