The Geek Bar X5500 is the latest high-capacity disposable vape in the ever-growing Geek Bar range.

The X5500 has a 630mAh battery which can be recharged via USB Type C.

It comes pre-filled with 12ml of juice, has a mesh coil, and delivers up to 5500 puffs per bar.

There are currently 9 flavors available (with more to come) with a 50mg nicotine strength.

Design & Style

Geek Bar has stuck to the full bright colored styling with the new X5500 disposable bars.

The colors, as you’d expect, match the flavor profiles. I like that they have a different tone to the color of the mouthpiece to give it just a little more styling.

Speaking of the mouthpiece, even though it covers the whole width of the round disposable and is quite wide. Geek bar has done a good job of having nice smooth contours and made the finish matte for better grip in the mouth.

The main body of the X5500 is shiny plastic, but it doesn’t show fingerprints. It’s a round tubular design that is wider at the top but tapers down to be slimmer at the base, making it comfortable to grip.

On the main body, you have a small ‘Geek Bar’ logo on one side, with the printed name of the flavor inside the bar. Then on the other side is the ‘Geek Bar’ branding written. It’s still quite a clean and fun aesthetic.

The X5500 is pretty compact for a large capacity disposable and is still very pocket-friendly measuring 100 x 23 x 23mm.

On the base of the X5500, you have a small airflow hole or slit. Then there’s a small pinhole with the LED light behind, and the USB Type C charge port sits in the center. The LED light is only white, but I have noticed that you do get a colored glow as it shines through the plastic of the device you are using.

Overall there’s nothing to complain about with the design of the X5500. They are compact, well made, and come in fun, vibrant colors.

Tropical Skittles Blast

This delivers all the tropical blend of flavors on the inhale. It’s like you’ve grabbed a handful of skittles and jammed them in your mouth. It has a definite candy taste, and it’s very true to its name. However, I was expecting it to ‘Blast’ me a little more.

Tropical Fruit

This has a definite sweet mango on the inhale, and it’s the prominent flavor throughout. There is some twang of pineapple and another fruit that I can’t quite distinguish. Still, it’s very tropical, nice, and refreshing – I really like it.  

Watermelon Ice

Very authentic watermelon. Very clean, crisp, but at the same time juicy. Not too sweet and has the right amount of cooling to make it an incredibly refreshing vape. Not overpowering in any way.

Blueberry Milkshake

It’s very milkshaky. The creaminess really takes center stage. The blueberry is there, but it’s very subtle. I would’ve liked a little more fruitiness to it. Not one I could use as an all-day vape, but not bad.

Orange Mango Guava

A really nice mix of the three fruits. You get mango on the inhale, with notes of guava mixing in. Then every so often, there is a very sweet citrus lift from the orange, which comes through more in the exhale – one of my favorites and a very nice all-day vape for me.

Pineapple Coconut Milk

Unlike the Blueberry Milkshake, thankfully, this one is subtle with the milk. In fact, it’s a perfect blend of pineapple and coconut all the way through the vape. Then there are very subtle creamy undertones, giving it more depth – creamy but still refreshing.

Strawberry Lemonade

Some lemonade mixes go heavy on the lemonade or the fruit they are combined with. This is almost an equal blend of strawberry and lemonade. On one inhale, you feel it’s more of a lemonade vape, then the next more strawberry. Either way, it’s very tasty, very clean, and refreshing.

Polar Ice mint

Straight-up mint flavor. Like you are sucking on some polos (or American mints). Thankfully it’s not too strong on the menthol or cooling. It remains light and a palate cleansing fresh vape. 

Mixed Fruit Shisha

I’m not one to normally go for Sisha flavors, so this is hard for me to gauge against others. It’s like a really soft tobacco blend highlighted with sweet berries. There’s no one strong flavor coming through; it all kind of blends together. Not my type of flavor, but not unpleasant.

Performance

Let me start by letting you know I typically vape 2% disposables and find 5% can be a little strong for me – especially when I’ve got to test over 9 different flavors!

So I did find that there was a slight nicotine taste to the flavors, which I haven’t experienced with other Geek Bar flavors I’ve tried at 2%.

That being said, there is a very good definitive throat which is very satisfying for an MTL vaper.

The draw on the X5500 is a medium to loose MTL draw and is very smooth for a disposable.

The auto draw trigger is very responsive with these disposables, and the mesh coil delivers almost instantly.

I noticed with the whole flavor range that Geek Bar has done a great job of not getting carried away with sweetener or cooling agents. They are sweet, just not overpowering like others I’ve tried. I’d describe them as a more mellow all-day vape type of disposable range.

There are some excellent flavor profiles in the range that I really enjoyed. Some not so much, but that’s how it goes with such a large range. But I’m sure there’s plenty in there to satisfy most.

The 630mAh job does a good job of lasting the day. However, with 50mg, you obviously will take fewer hits than a lower nicotine level.

I don’t know the charge rate of the battery. It wasn’t particularly fast and took well over an hour to fully recharge.

It took me several days to completely deplete one of the X5500s, and that was with me pushing it to see what happened.

In my experience of vaping disposables, I would say the X5550 gets close to the advertised 5500 puff count (without physically counting).

Verdict

The Geek Bar X5500 is another solid entry into the impressive Geek Bar lineup.

They deliver a good MTL vape experience from a compact and vibrant disposable bar. They seem to be good for the advertised puff count, and the battery and mesh coil also work well.

Throw in that they have a good auto draw trigger, smooth draw, and very good flavor range – there’s not much to dislike.

I think it’s a great range for anyone looking for something not overly sweet and a slightly more mellow all-day vape disposable.
