Product Description
The Innokin Trine SE is a streamlined version of its sibling pod vape, the Trine. The SE strips away the bells and whistles, focusing on ease of use and portability.
Like its predecessor, the Trine SE features a replaceable 1000mAh battery, showcasing Innokin’s commitment to sustainability.
It’s compatible with the same VCAP pods, available in 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, and 1.2Ω resistances, each offering a 2ml e-liquid capacity with a convenient top-fill system.
Where the Trine SE differs is in its simpler operation. Gone are the adjustable wattage and OLED screen. Replaced by a smart power output that automatically detects the resistance and adjusts accordingly. It still offers adjustable airflow control, covering a tight MTL to a restricted DTL draw.
The Innokin Trine SE is available in 6 colors: Matte Black, Matte Silver, Matte Green, Mirror Gold, Ice Blue, and Graffiti Pink.

Design & Build Quality
The Innokin Trine SE maintains the modern look of its older brother, but with a more minimalist approach. Gone is the OLED screen, resulting in a cleaner, more streamlined look that I like.
It sports the same high-quality aluminum alloy body as the original Trine. This not only gives it that premium feel in the hand, but makes it incredibly light. Especially when your remove the battery.
The Trine SE shares the same dimensions as the Trine, 110.93mm x 25.86mm x 15.57mm. Which surprising because it doesn’t have a screen. But I think that says more about the Trine being exceptional for the size, because this is still an extremely compact pod.

As the body is the same, is worth mention I really like the rounded edges that make it comfortable to hold and easy to slip into a pocket or purse.
I’m also a fan of the anodized finish which offers good resistance to scratches and fingerprints. However, Innokin has decided to change it up a little on the colorways front. They are mostly I little muted for my liking.
The Matte Green is very faint and looks close the the Matte Silver. Then there’s then Mirror Gold. A bit too glossy for me.
The one exciting addition is the Ice Blue version. It really is something different with a silver to blue gradient and speckled ice effect. You can probably tell from our pictures, it’s the only one that truly standout.
I really like it, and hope Innokin create more like this. (I also hope they make it in the deep blue of the original Trine).

For those that love to keep it sleek and simple, there’s also a Matte Black (which we sadly didn’t receive).
I’m not sure how I feel about this, as I was a huge fan of the original colors
The Trine SE is auto-draw only. So there’s no screen or button. Just an LED light on the front.
This LED serves double duty, showing both battery status while in use and charging.
The USB-C charge port is on the side of the device, positioned identically to the original Trine.
Also the side airflow adjustment slider remains the same. Allowing you to dial in your perfect draw from a tight MTL to a restricted DTL.
The standout feature of the Trine is the innovative replaceable 1000mAh battery system. Which is still the key feature here.

It uses exactly the same batteries. It has same secure locking mechanism that gives a satisfying click when inserted.
The only difference I noticed in the design of the batteries, is the original Trine had a silver base. While those that come with the SE are black plastic.
However, I did test, and they are completely interchangeable.
The magnetic pod connection at the top of the device is as secure as before. Holding the VCAP pods securely in place with no wiggle or play.
Overall, while the Trine SE may lack the techy appeal of a screen. But its simplified design still exudes a quiet elegance. It’s exactly what an SE model should be.

Features
The Innokin Trine SE might be a stripped-down version of its older sibling, but it still has some features.
Obviously, the main one is that replaceable 1000mAh battery.
I still believe this feature (carried over from the original Trine), is a game-changer in the pod vape market.
It’s not just about having spare batteries on hand (though that’s brilliant for all-day vaping). It’s about extending the life of your device and reducing e-waste. Kudos to Innokin for sticking with this eco-friendly approach.
The Trine SE also retains the EcoDrain technology from its predecessor. This nifty feature allows you to safely discharge the battery before disposal. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference in the long run.

The Trine SE lacks adjustable wattage. Instead it has a smart power output that automatically detects your pod resistance and sets the ideal wattage.
It’s a simplified approach that we’ve seen on many pod vapes. Which makes it ideal for beginner vapers.
The device only supports draw activation, there are no buttons. As such there’s no way to completely switch the device off.
However, unlike other devices. You can just remove the battery if you are travelling, and worried about auto-firing on a plane.

The adjustable airflow is exactly the some as the original. It’s a slightly protruding slider, which says in place perfectly. It caters to the full range of tight MTL, to restricted DTL draws.
There’s USB-C charging. But Innokin hasn’t specified the charging rate, I’d expect it to be similar to the original Trine’s 1A rate. As it takes about an hour for a full charge.
I’m still hoping for the release of a small charge base…so I can have a couple of batteries charging independantly.

Lastly, let’s talk about that LED indicator. A quick glance tells you your battery level:
- Green for 30-100%.
- Amber for 10-30%.
- Red for under 10%.
It’s a simple but effective system that keeps you informed without the need for a full OLED display.
While the Trine SE may have fewer bells and whistles than its predecessor, it retains the core features that made the original stand out.

Pods/Coils
The Innokin Trine SE uses the same VCAP pods as its more complex sibling. Which is good news for those who appreciate consistency.
These pods have a 2ml capacity (thanks, TPD) and come in three different resistances: 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, and 1.2Ω.
Thankfully, you get two pods in the kit. A 0.8Ω and 0.6Ω pod.
The color-coding on the pods is a nice touch, making it easy to differentiate between resistances without squinting at tiny numbers.

Starting with the 0.6Ω pod, this is your go-to for a warmer, cloudier vape. It’s perfect for those who enjoy a restricted Direct-to-Lung (DTL) hit or a very loose Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) draw.
In the original Trine, this pod performed best at 20-22W, and I expect similar performance from the Trine SE’s smart power output.
The 0.8Ω pod is my personal favorite, offering a fantastic balance between flavor and vapor production. It’s ideal for those who prefer a warm, punchier MTL draw.
On the original Trine, I found the sweet spot to be around 13.5W, slightly above Innokin’s recommended 12-14W range. It’ll be interesting to see how the Trine SE’s auto-detection handles this pod.
For those who prefer a tighter draw and potentially longer battery life, the 1.2Ω pod is your best bet. It offers a cooler vape with a satisfyingly tight MTL draw.
In the original Trine, this pod performed well at 11-12W, and I expect similar performance from the SE.

I love the top-fill system on these VCAP pods. It’s similar to what you’d find on a Caliburn or Xros – just snap off the black mouthpiece, and you’ve got a decent-sized fill hole.
Remember to take it slow when filling; if you’re too aggressive, you might find juice coming back up through the other hole.
In terms of longevity, these pods are impressive. In my experience with the original Trine, I got about 7-10 days out of the 0.6Ω pod with regular use, while the 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω pods lasted even longer, around 10-14 days. Of course, your mileage may vary depending on your vaping habits and the sweetness of your e-liquid.
My only gripe with these pods – and it’s a minor one – is the small juice window when connected to the device. It can be a bit tricky to check your e-liquid level at a glance.

Performance
Alright, let’s dive into how the Innokin Trine SE actually performs.
I was a bit skeptical about how this simplified version would stack up against its more feature-rich sibling. But if I’m being honest, I can barely notice the difference – which is great!
The smart power feature, seems to get it bang on for each of the pods (at least to my liking). I never once felt like I missed the ability to crank up the power.

First off, let’s talk about flavor. It’s just like the original, all three VCAP pods is crisp, clean, and satisfying.
The 0.6Ω pod, as expected, delivers a warmer vape with impressive vapor production. The flavor is bold and pronounced, making it a great choice for dessert or complex e-liquids.
My personal favorite, the 0.8Ω pod, continues to shine in the Trine SE. The smart power output seems to hit a sweet spot for me. It delivers a consistent and flavorful MTL vape.
The 1.2Ω pod, while not my go-to, performs admirably for those who prefer a tighter draw and cooler vape. It’s also remarkably efficient with e-liquid and battery life.
Speaking of battery life, the 1000mAh replaceable battery in the Trine SE is still a trooper.
With the 0.8Ω pod, I easily got a full day of heavy vaping before needing a recharge. Even with the more power-hungry 0.6Ω pod, I managed a solid 6-7 hours of use.

I’m lucky enough to have a couple of devices. So even when my battery did run out I just pulled the battery out of an already charge device – simple!
A quick word on the adjustable airflow. Like I said with the original Trine. Is well implemented, is easy to adjust, and is super smooth.
Compared to some other pods, I do find it apparent that the airflow is only coming from one side. But it is subtle.
In terms of coil longevity, the VCAP pods continue to impress. I hit the same figures as with the original Trine. So that’s good going, and on par with some of the best out there.

Compared to its older sibling, the Trine SE holds its own surprisingly well.
Yes, you lose the ability to fine-tune your wattage, and don’t have a fancy OLED. But honestly i didn’t miss them. If anything, the simplified operation makes for a more streamlined, hassle-free experience.
When stacked against popular competitors like the Xros 4 Mini, it’s as close as it comes. Personally I would go with the Trine SE. The replaceable battery really is an excellent feature.
