Design & Build Quality

The Innokin Z Pod Nano is a remarkably tiny device, measuring just 26.5mm x 21.5mm x 82.25mm.

It’s so small that it practically disappears in your hand, making it one of the most compact and cute pod systems on the market.

The Innkon Trine that we recently reviewed (a regular-sized pod vape) dwarfs over it.

Despite its diminutive size, the Z Pod Nano feels solid and well-built, thanks to its aluminum and polycarbonate construction. The device is lightweight at just 45.3g but doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy.

Each variant of the Z Pod Nano has a matte finish, which adds to the look by keeping it clear of fingerprints.

Innokin has been cute with the styling as you can see from our photos. They are all two-tone colors, with the top section adding a bite of color, while the bottom is either black or white.

I particularly love the Ice Blue version, it just looks so clean. Although I think it’s more green than blue.

The top section is actually a magnetic sleeve or cap that goes over the pod. You just pull it off to access the pod.

They connect pretty seamlessly with no play or wiggle whatsoever.

The pods are clear plastic with a 2ml capacity and a built-in drip tip. They also connect magnetically to the device. You can easily see the pod through the viewing window of the cap to monitor your e-liquid level.

The pods also have a side-fill port and an airflow control on the base. More on that later.

On the front of the Z Pod Nano, you’ll find the tiny OLED screen that displays your battery level, and wattage.

I usually hate basic, tiny screens on pods. But i’m ok with it on the Z Nano, as that’s all it needs. And it goes neatly with the device.

On the base, you’ve got the USB-C port for charging.

Overall, I find the Z Nano quite an adorable little pod system. I like that Innokin has done something different with the design. Even though it’s a compact plastic pod kit, it feels really good in the hand and has decent build quality.

The Innokin Z Pod Nano doesn’t come with stacks of features, but it does have the essentials.

Firstly, it’s powered by a built-in 700mAh battery. Which is ample power for a device of this size.

It has adjustable wattage with a range of 6-15W, which can be adjusted in 0.5W increments.

The Z Pod Nano is an MTL-only device. But it is compatible with three different MTL pod options: 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω, and 1.2Ω.

The base of each pod has adjustable airflow, ranging from a tight MTL to a slightly looser MTL.

The OLED screen clearly displays the essential information of battery life, and wattage.

The Z Nano has both manual and draw-activated firing. And the OLED screen will light up with each puff.

While it does have USB-C charging, it only supports up to a 1A charge rate. But that’s not such a problem with a small-capacity battery, and you can fully charge in 45 minutes.

The Z Pod Nano is also equipped with all the regular safety features, including low battery, short circuit, and overheating protection.

How to Use the Z Pod Nano

Using the Innokin Z Pod Nano is a straightforward process, even for beginners.

Operating the Device:

  • Turn the device on or off by clicking the power button 3 times within 2 seconds.
  • Adjust the wattage by clicking the power button twice continuously. The wattage will increase in 0.5W increments from 6-15W. Either wait 5 seconds or take a puff to confirm your selected wattage.
  • To vape, simply take a draw on the mouthpiece, as the device is draw-activated.

It really is as simple as they come for a pod device.

The Innokin Z Pod Nano kit includes two pods: a 0.8Ω pod and a 1.2Ω pod, both with a 2ml e-liquid capacity.

A 1.0Ω pod is also available for purchase separately.

The 0.8Ω pod is ideal for use between 12-14W, while the 1.2Ω pod performs best between 9-12W.

Both pods are designed for MTL vaping, and work well with 50/50 and 60/40 VG/PG e-liquids, making them perfect for nicotine salt e-juices.

Filling the pods is a simple process. Just slide off the device’s housing to expose the fill port on the front of the pod. Pull back the silicone cover and fill the pod through the port.

For best performance, allow a new pod to sit for 5 minutes after filling to ensure the cotton is fully saturated.

Adjusting the airflow on the Z Pod Nano is easy, thanks to the airflow switch located on the base of each pod. With the switch, you can choose between a tight MTL draw or a slightly looser MTL draw by opening or closing the second airflow hole.

I’ve been using the Innokin Z Pod Nano for the past few weeks, which has given me ample time to

I’m pleasantly surprised at how well this little pod performs.

The auto-draw works flawlessly, and each of the pods I tested delivered great flavor.

It doesn’t quite compete with the top pods on the market for flavor (the Innokin Trine included). But for such an easy-to-use, compact little device, it’s great.

The 0.8Ω pod is recommended for use between 12-14W. However, I found you can even push it up to 15W, and it still works great.

As you’d expect, this pod provides a more pronounced flavor compared to the 1.2Ω pod. It also works well with all the airflow configurations, open for a loose MTL or switched off with a tight MTL draw.

The 1.2Ω pod is best used between 9-12W. While it still offered a decent vape, I found that I needed to close off the second airflow hole to get the most out of it and get better flavor.

Those who prefer a more mellow vape and want the battery to last longer would suit the 1.2Ω. I think the 0.8Ω is the better of the two, especially for flavor.

One thing that really surprised me with the Z Pod Nano was the impressive lifespan of its pods.

I’m currently on my third week using the 0.8Ω pod, and it’s only now showing signs of fading out. The 1.2Ω also made it past a couple of weeks.

It’s worth noting that I did all my testing with 50/50 and 60/40 VG/PG juices, as this is what’s recommended. I definitely feel like these pods would struggle with anything thicker. But they are meant for MTL, so that’s fine.

I didn’t encounter any leaking or spitback issues with either of the pods during my testing.

The device’s 700mAh battery life is decent for its size, but it does struggle to last a full day of heavy vaping with the 0.8Ω pod.

It’s such an ultra-compact device, so it’s a trade-off I’m happy to accept. With regular use or the 1.2Ω, you can get through the day and top up in the evening.

The 45-minute charge time is okay, but I would’ve liked to have seen 2A fast charging, even though it’s only a 700mAh battery.

Overall, the Innokin Z Pod Nano delivers an impressive vaping experience, particularly with the 0.8Ω pod. The flavor is great, the draw is smooth, and the adjustable airflow and wattage allow for a customizable MTL vape.

  • Ultra-compact & lightweight design
  • Excellent flavor (particularly with 0.8Ω pod)
  • Adjustable airflow (MTL)
  • Smooth MTL draw
  • Easy to use
  • Draw-activated firing
  • Clear OLED screen
  • Adjustable wattage (6-15W)
  • Long-lasting pods
  • Easy refilling
  • USB-C charging
  • Attractive color options
  • Incredible value

  • Battery life may not last a full day for heavy vapers
  • 1.2Ω pod performance is not as impressive as the 0.8Ω pod
  • Max 15W output may not satisfy more power-hungry vapers

The Innokin Z Pod Nano really won me over for such a cute little pod.

It’s easy to use and delivers an excellent vape experience.

It’s the sort of pod device I’d be happy to recommend to any beginner vaper, or those looking for a stealthy little vape.

While it doesn’t quite match the Innokin Trine in terms of flavor (or features). It does provide a great option for MTL vapers who want something more compact.

The adjustable wattage and airflow work well. And despite it’s small battery capacity, it does a good job of lasting.

If you’re in the market for an ultra-compact MTL pod system. The Innokin Z Pod Nano is definitely worth considering.

It may be small in size, but it packs a punch in terms of performance and value.
