JAC Vapour Series S22 Kit
The JAC Vapour Series S22 is the latest vape pen from the Scottish company who are known for producing some of the best quality starter kits on the market.
- Excellent build quality
- Looks great
- Large 2600 Mah Battery
- Great flavor from S22 tank
I started vaping over 5 years ago and one of the first devices I used that helped me finally kick the smoking habit was a cig-a-like by JAC Vapour. So as you can imagine, I have a bit of a soft spot for them and was pleased to get the chance to review their latest starter kit.
That being said, I’m not going to pull any punches with this review, and vaping has progressed a lot since I started, so it will be interesting to see just how well JAC Vapour’s Series S22 Kit holds up against the plethora of starter kits currently on the market.

The first thing I noticed when taking the device out of the box (besides it’s striking green color…more on that later) is just how great this kit feels in the hand.
The Series 22 has a steel alloy body but is coated with a rubber finish, much like the old Vaporshark devices – but even better quality in my opinion. It really is one of the most pleasing devices to hold, and I often found myself just sitting and stroking it with a twisted smile on my face like I’d opened up a whole new weird world of vape fetishism.
Anyway….. I digress, let’s just say this thing feels great. It is also extremely classy looking. The aesthetics of the whole kit are refreshingly uncluttered, with no brash logos or flashy accents like many other manufacturers. Just a simple power light beneath the fire button and a nice raised logo on the base which doubles as a charge indicator, lighting up red when charging or blue when fully charged – another tasteful design choice.
To keep the front of the device looking clean, they decided to place the micro USB charge port on the bottom underside of the device, which means you can only charge it while the device is on its side. I understand why they went that route, but I’d have preferred to see it on the front.
The fire button is also a joy to use; it’s nice and clicky with just the right amount of throw to it.
JAC Vapour has proved that less is more with their designs and this is a well-built and extremely classy looking kit. The black version looks incredibly sleek and stylish, and although the green we have for review is funky looking, it does still ooze a touch of class.
The Series S22 is quite simply a plug-and-play vape device. You only need to worry about charging it and filling up the tank; then it’s as easy as hit the button and vape. Perfect for beginner vapers or those looking to quit smoking.
There is no screen or settings to confuse new vapers, and all the safety features such as overcharge protection, short circuit protection, battery venting and high amp draw protection are there for peace of mind.
It features a huge 2600mah battery, which would see most vapers comfortably through a day of vaping, I was getting nearly a day and a half. It is also capable of pass-through vaping (vape while charging), which is made easier with the nice long included USB cable. It charges from flat in approximately two and a half hours.
The S22 tank is exactly would you’d expect to go with the device, it’s a no-frills solid mouth-to-lung tank, that can produce plenty of flavor.
Included in the kit you get one 1.0 Ohm MTL coil, and I have to say using it was a pleasant surprise, with the draw and flavor it produces matching up admirably to the popular Nautilus 2.
However, the tank can also be used for sub-ohm vaping, if you purchase either the 0.5 or 1.0 Ohm DL coils separately. I had the chance to test a 0.5-ohm coil, and while it still maintained the great flavor and produced more vapor, I’d still stick to using the S22 tank with an MTL coil due to its capacity.
The tank only has 2ml capacity being a TPD compliant design. However, as a MTL tank, 2ml is usually sufficient to last most vapers as it doesn’t burn through vast amounts of e-liquid.
The S22 tank features an airflow control ring and has a top-fill design, so it’s easy to refill. Simply unscrew the top cap and drip your e-liquid down the inside of the tank avoiding the central chimney. Screw the top back on, and vape away. The S22 although kept to the same rubber coated sleek design as the device, also has a large window on the side of the tank so you can see your juice level and when you need a refill.
All-in-all I don’t think JAC Vapor could’ve done much better with this tank; it is a perfect match for the Series 22 kit.
I’ve said it before, but the Series S22 kit as a whole is an absolute joy to use.
I like quite an open MTL vape, so I left the airflow control wide open with the 1.0 Ohm MTL coils, and it was perfect – a real saturated flavorful vape. If you want an even tighter draw like a traditional cigarette, just close off the airflow control a little.
I think it’s great that JAC Vapour has created a tank that can help vapers transition in sub-ohm vaping, and the DL coils do a sterling job. However, as a starter kit with a 2ml capacity and large internal battery, this thing really shines as MTL vape starter kit.
The tank and MTL coils are probably best suited to lower VG liquids, but I did manage to vape a couple of tanks of 80% VG and had no issues whatsoever.
It’s also worth mentioning that pressing the fire button on the device does seem to power the tank immediately, there’s not very much ramp-up time, which is also impressive.
So not only does this kit feel fantastic to use, but it also performs brilliantly as well. Possibly one of the best starter kits I have ever used.
- Excellent build quality
- Simple to use
- Long lasting battery
- Compact form factor
- Classy design
- Great flavor from tank
- Vape while charging
- Charge port on underside of device
- Only one coil included in kit
This is not the cheapest starter kit on the market, but you really do get what you pay for. From the offset, you can tell this is a well-manufactured kit, and it is completely worth the extra money for the build quality, performance, and high-end look.
I love the form factor of the Series 22; it’s almost a crossover between a vape pen and a box mod. It’s still incredibly compact, and that little boost in size over a standard vape pen is a great trade-off for an impressive 2600mah battery.
It still fits nicely in your pocket or bag, and the rubberized coating seems to add a little more durability.
The S22 tank is an impressive performer and holds it’s own in the flavor department compared to some of the top MTL tanks.
There are plenty of starter kits on the market, and most are simple to use for beginners and are far better than anything that was available when I started vaping. However, If I had to choose just one starter kit currently on the market to get somebody off of cigarettes and into vaping, then this would probably be my top choice.
So it seems even after 5 years JAC Vapour is still creating quality devices to help people quit smoking and start vaping, and still has a place in my heart – thank you JAC Vapour.
