OXVA are already responsible for two of my favorite pod systems this year in the NeXLIM and NeXLIM GO, so when the NeXLIM 2 and NeXLIM 2 Mini landed on my desk, I’ll admit I had high expectations.

Don’t mistake the Mini for a NeXLIM GO replacement though – this pairing works a bit differently. The NeXLIM 2 is the full-fat flagship, while the Mini strips away the screen and customization options for a simpler, pick up and play companion device.

Both are built around OXVA’s new Unitech 3.0 pod technology – easily the biggest upgrade in this pairing, and I’ll get into exactly why further down.

The NeXLIM 2 brings back that lovely 0.85″ HD color display with unlockable themes, backed by a 2000mAh battery, 5-40W output, and a new Super Pulse System for finer atomization. 5V/3A charging gets you to 80% in around 20 minutes.

The NeXLIM 2 Mini ditches the screen for a simple tri-color LED and touch controls, running a 1500mAh battery at up to 30W – plenty for the MTL and RDL crowd this one’s aimed at.

DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY

Unboxing both devices side by side, it’s immediately clear OXVA have approached this pairing very differently to how they handled the NeXLIM and NeXLIM GO, and I think that’s the right call.

Starting with the NeXLIM 2, this is a proper flagship device. At 127.5 x 28.5 x 17.5mm and 88.5g, it’s only marginally bigger and heavier than the original NeXLIM, with that same zinc alloy.

It’s got real heft without ever feeling like a brick in the pocket, and that soft-touch PU leather finish I loved on the original returns across most of the nine colorways, alongside the World Cup-themed Color Clash special edition – if you’ve read my original NeXLIM review, you’ll know how much I rate it.

Up front, you’ve still got the circular 0.85″ color display, and it’s the same physical size and shape as the original NeXLIM, just noticeably crisper – more on the theming in the Features section below.

The NeXLIM 2 Mini is a different animal entirely. At 113.5 x 28.5 x 18mm and just 59g, it’s actually smaller and lighter than the NeXLIM GO (119 x 28.5 x 18mm, 62g), despite sitting alongside a bigger, more premium sibling. OXVA have also swapped the GO’s polycarbonate shell for an aluminum alloy build with aerospace-grade materials, which genuinely surprised me – rather than a cost-cut budget option, the Mini feels like a proper premium device that’s simply had the screen and menu system stripped out for simplicity. It’s been machined nicely too, and mine hasn’t picked up a single mark during testing.

Color-wise, the Mini gets its own line-up of nine options, plus the standout Golden Hour limited edition – its hexagonal gold paneling genuinely does look like it’s borrowed texture from a football, making it (alongside the Color Clash NeXLIM 2) a fun companion for the World Cup this summer.

Both devices ditch a physical fire button in favor of auto-draw, so up front you’re either getting that HD screen on the NeXLIM 2 or a simple tri-color LED indicator on the Mini (full breakdown in Features below).

Pod-wise, both devices share the same magnetic connection system, and it’s just as strong and precise as I found on the original NeXLIM – no wobble, no misalignment, and I never once had a connection drop out mid-vape across either device. The pods themselves retain that fully transparent design I’ve always rated on this range, so keeping an eye on your remaining juice is completely fuss-free.

Overall, build quality across the pairing is excellent, and the Mini is the bigger surprise of the two – I wasn’t expecting it to out-build the GO it’s replacing.

FEATURES

Both devices carry over the ECO and BOOST modes I’ve come to rely on across the whole NeXLIM range, but how you actually get to them is where the NeXLIM 2 and NeXLIM 2 Mini properly go their separate ways.

NeXLIM 2 – Button Controls

The NeXLIM 2 sticks with the same button-based menu system as the original, and it’s all handled through a single function button on the side:

• Wake screen – 1 click
• Switch ECO/BOOST modes – 2 clicks
• Adjust wattage – 3 clicks
• Change theme – 4 clicks
• Power on/off – 5 clicks
• Toggle vaping animation – 6 clicks
• Clear puff counter – 7 clicks
• Operating guide – long press

It sounds like a lot to remember, but muscle memory kicks in fast, and that long-press operating guide is a genuinely handy addition if you ever forget a combo. The screen itself is where you’ll notice the biggest jump from the original NeXLIM – it’s the same 0.85″ size, but there are more themes to unlock this time round, several of which only reveal themselves the more you use the device rather than being available from the off. It’s a small thing, but it does add a bit of longevity to the novelty.

NeXLIM 2 Mini – Touch Controls

The Mini throws all of that out in favor of dead simple touch controls next to the charging port. A couple of taps switches you between ECO and BOOST, and that’s genuinely it – no menus, no themes, nothing else to learn. It’s about as close to true pick-up-and-play as pod vaping gets. The only gripe I’ve got here is one I’ve seen echoed elsewhere too – it’s easy to catch the touch control by accident when you’re holding the device, so don’t be surprised if you occasionally find yourself in BOOST mode without meaning to.

In place of a screen, the Mini uses a tri-color LED up front to show remaining battery – green for 65-100%, blue for 30-65%, and red for anything below 30%. Simple, effective, and exactly what a device like this needs.

Airflow

Both devices offer adjustable side airflow, though the NeXLIM 2 gets a proper three-level precision control, while the Mini uses a smooth sliding adjustment. Either way, you can dial things down for a tight MTL pull or open things right up for a more RDL-style draw, and I found both easy to adjust one-handed without having to think too hard about it.

Charging

Both devices charge via USB-C, but the NeXLIM 2 has the edge here with 5V/3A fast charging, getting you to 80% in around 20 minutes. The Mini uses 5V/2A charging, which still isn’t slow by any means – you’re looking at 80% in under 30 minutes, with a full charge taking around 50-55 minutes in my testing.

Worth flagging – the NeXLIM 2 gets the added no-pod protection that the Mini misses out on, so it’s the slightly more comprehensively protected of the two, though neither left me with any safety concerns during testing.

PODS/COILS

If you’ve read any of my previous NeXLIM coverage, you’ll know these pods are genuinely some of my favorite in the pod vape space – dual mesh flavor that rivals sub-ohm tanks, and a lifespan that already put most of the competition to shame. So when OXVA turn round and say they’ve upgraded them again, I sit up and take notice.

Both the NeXLIM 2 and NeXLIM 2 Mini share the exact same pod line-up, built around OXVA’s new Unitech 3.0 architecture, and crucially, these pods remain fully compatible with the original NeXLIM and NeXLIM GO too – so if you’re already invested in the ecosystem, nothing here goes to waste.

The dual mesh coil now sits inside a five-layer cotton matrix, which OXVA say is designed for near-instant e-liquid saturation and more efficient heating. On top of that, there’s a proper triple-layer, 3X anti-leak system, along with a larger condensate chamber to catch any excess e-liquid before it gets anywhere near your pocket.

You get the same three resistance options as before, though power ranges do shift slightly depending on which device you’re running them in:

• 1.2Ω (Green) – 10-13W ECO / 20-25W BOOST, true MTL territory, sold separately
• 0.6Ω (Black) – 20-25W ECO / up to 30W BOOST on the Mini; a thirstier option that can stretch right up towards the NeXLIM 2’s 40W ceiling
• 0.8Ω (Orange) – 14-18W ECO / 28-30W BOOST, the versatile all-rounder for both MTL and RDL, and my pick across both devices

Leak-proofing was already strong on the original NeXLIM and GO pods, but Unitech 3.0 takes it up another notch. Across both devices, I didn’t experience a single leak during testing – the only thing I noticed was the faintest hint of condensation around the connection after several days of solid, heavy use, and even that wiped away in seconds. OXVA’s leak-proof promise genuinely holds up here.

Lifespan is where things get really impressive though. OXVA originally claimed up to 15 refills from the first-gen NeXLIM pods, and I got 12 refills (48ml) out of mine before calling it, with the GO’s pods pushing that to 20 refills (80ml) in my own testing. With Unitech 3.0, OXVA are now claiming 20-30 refills and up to 120ml from a single cartridge – a genuinely huge generational jump, if it holds up in the real world.

Flavor-wise, running the new pods side by side against my old-gen NeXLIM cartridges, the difference is noticeable rather than night and day – smoother, slightly more rounded, with less of that occasional harshness I’d get pushing the 0.6Ω pod hard in BOOST mode.

The 0.8Ω remains my pick of the bunch for everyday vaping, handling MTL and RDL equally well, while the 0.6Ω is still the thirstier option and best reserved for when you specifically want that warmer, denser RDL hit.

PERFORMANCE

After splitting my testing time fairly evenly between the NeXLIM 2 and NeXLIM 2 Mini over the past couple of weeks, I can say both devices deliver – but in slightly different ways, and it’s worth breaking each down separately.

NeXLIM 2 Mini

Running my usual complex fruity blend through the 0.8Ω pod, ECO mode (around 16W) gives you that same balanced, MTL-friendly vape I’ve always loved from this range – smooth, cool, and packed with flavor without ever feeling like you’re working for it. Flick over to BOOST and you’re straight up into 28-30W territory, and the difference is obvious within the first pull – warmer, denser, more intense on the exhale. It’s proper RDL performance from what’s ostensibly the “simple” device in this pairing.

The airflow slider does its job well here too – dial it right down for a genuinely satisfying tight MTL draw with high-strength nic salts, or open it up and let the Mini breathe for some proper RDL clouds.

Battery life on the 1500mAh cell impressed me more than I expected from something this size – a full day of fairly heavy use, dipping into BOOST mode regularly, with charge to spare heading into day two. Interestingly, switching to ECO mode didn’t stretch things out anywhere near as much as I’d anticipated, only buying me an extra couple of hours rather than the day-plus difference I’ve seen on other devices. If you want maximum battery life, BOOST mode clearly isn’t punishing the cell as hard as you’d think.

NeXLIM 2

The full-fat NeXLIM 2 is where you really feel the extra headroom. With the 0.6Ω pod up in the 33-35W range, this thing produces some genuinely dense clouds for a pod system, and the flavor holds up beautifully even pushed that hard – something I can’t say for every high-wattage pod device I’ve tested. Switch down to the 0.8Ω for daily MTL/RDL duties and it’s just as accomplished, handling everything from 50/50 nic salts through to 70/30 freebase without breaking a sweat.

What really stood out to me testing the NeXLIM 2 was just how consistent the output feels from first puff to last, thanks to OXVA’s new Super Pulse System. There’s none of the power dropout you sometimes get on other devices as the battery dips low – it just keeps delivering right until it needs a charge.

Battery life is a proper step up too. The 2000mAh cell comfortably got me through a full day of heavy use, even hammering BOOST mode regularly, and dropping into ECO with more sensible wattages stretched that out into multiple days without much trouble at all. Combined with that blisteringly quick 20-minute 80% charge, battery anxiety genuinely isn’t something you’ll be thinking about with this device.

VERDICT

After a fortnight with both devices, it’s clear OXVA haven’t just gone through the motions here – both hold up brilliantly in their own right, and most of what makes them special comes down to those new Unitech 3.0 pods. Smoother flavor, genuinely leak-proof, and a lifespan claim that puts serious distance between this and the first-gen pods I already rated so highly.

If you want the full flagship experience, the NeXLIM 2 is the one to go for – that screen, the unlockable themes, the extra power headroom, and genuinely all-day-plus battery life make it an easy device to live with long term. The Mini, on the other hand, is for anyone who just wants brilliant flavor without thinking about it – and it’s actually a build-quality step up over the NeXLIM GO, not a step down, which makes it genuinely compelling in its own right.

So, should existing NeXLIM or NeXLIM GO owners upgrade? Honestly, probably not – and that’s a compliment to how good the pods already were, not a knock on the new hardware. Since the Unitech 3.0 cartridges are fully backwards compatible, you can get the bulk of this upgrade – smoother flavor, better leak resistance, longer lifespan – just by picking up a pack of the new pods. It’s only worth going all in on new hardware if you specifically want that improved screen and theming on the NeXLIM 2, or the Mini’s premium aluminum build and pocket-friendly size over the GO.

For anyone coming to the NeXLIM range fresh, though, there’s no debate to be had – these are two of the best pod systems on the market right now, and either one will serve you brilliantly depending on how much control you want over your vape. OXVA continues to set the standard here, and I can’t wait to see where they take Unitech 4.0.
