The XLIM C is the latest release from OXVA into their extremely impressive pod range.

We’ve been super fans of the original XLIM series, which still holds a place in our best pod vape list. 

The XLIM C appears to be much of the same excellent design but with a slightly different approach. It’s a more simplified version without a display, although it still has 3 adjustable power settings.

The XLIM C also has a new pod design that now utilizes replaceable coils instead of an integrated pod/coil.

There’s still an internal 900mAh battery that supports USB-C charging and adjustable airflow.

The OXVA XLIM C is available in 10 color variations: Gradient blue, glossy black sliver, red, gunmetal, glossy green silver, green camo, black, blue-purple, black camo, and glossy gold silver.

The Bottom Line

The OXVA XLIM C is an excellent pod vape. It has a sleek, compact design, is easy to use, and delivers fantastic flavor from both coils. The adjustable power and airflow work well, and the auto-draw switch is one of the best around. As good as the XLIM V2, just with slightly fewer features – highly recommended.

Design & Style

The XLIM C is the latest addition to the XLIM family, and it has that undeniable sleek and simple look to it.

It’s just as portable and compact as the previous XLIM devices measuring 114.5mm x 24mm x 14mm. It is also lightweight, weighing only 40g, and it feels solid and well-built, thanks to its aluminum alloy body. 

The XLIM C comes with an “X”-shaped LED light on the fire button, which adds a funky look to the device, as well as being a functional indicator. 

The XLIM C is a one-button device, where the fire button also doubles as the power output adjustment. It also offers both manual or auto-draw firing options, with an option to deactivate manual firing.

The front of the device features the OXVA logo, while the rear is simple and clean. The side of the device features the airflow control slider and XLIM C text, while the bottom hosts the USB Type C port and regulatory symbols.

The airflow adjustment slider has a small round knob for easy adjustment and three individual airflow slots, including a pinhole for a tight MTL draw. The slider has the perfect amount of resistance to it and stays in place well. 

The pod compartment has two spring-loaded contacts and two strong magnets, which secure the pod in place without any wobble. The XLIM C is a great-looking device, which feels every bit as sturdy as its previous versions.

We were fortunate enough to receive two versions of the XLIM C. A regular version and the 3rd-anniversary edition of the XLIM C. This celebratory edition boasts a gradient silver-to-blue color, with light engravings resembling a finely crafted watch piece. It’s more expensive and fancy than the regular XLIM C, which sports a more discreet appearance. 

The regular XLIM C is available in various colors and is suitable for those looking for a more subtle look. There are 10 in total, ranging from solid colors, gradient colors, and even camouflage patterns, ensuring a color option to suit everyone’s taste.

I’d normally go for a sleek and simple color version. That being said, there’s something a little extra special about OXVA’s 3rd-anniversary edition that keeps me returning to it.

The XLIM C is exactly what I’d expect from a new addition to the XLIM family. It’s a great-looking device that feels every bit as sturdy as its previous versions. It has the same excellent build quality in an uncompromising compact and sleek design.

Features

The XLIM C might not be as feature-rich as its predecessor, but it still offers plenty.

It is powered by an internal 900mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C. It has a charge rate of 2A and can fully charge in approximately 40 minutes, and it also features passthrough vaping.

It has a maximum power output of 22W, with three different power settings. This can be changed by pressing the fire button three times. The settings are indicated by the following:

• Red = Low (8-18 watts)
• Blue = Medium (10-20 watts)
• Green = High (12-22 watts)

The OXVA XLIM C, like a lot of other pod vapes, features both manual and auto-draw firing. However, it also has the option to lock/unlock the fire button for manual firing, which is great for preventing accidental firing while in your pocket.

It’s an incredibly easy-to-use device. Here’s all you need to know:

• On/Off: Press the fire button five times.
• Change Wattage: Press the fire button three times.
• Lock/unlock manual firing: Press the fire button four times.

The XLIM C has an LED light on the fire button that not only highlights what power level you have set but also acts as the battery level indicator with the following:

• Green = 65-100%
• Blue = 30-65%
• Red = 0-30%

Pod/Coils

The XLIM C comes with a new 2ml capacity pod. At first glance, it looks the same as the original XLIM pods, just with the coil missing.

However, it has a slightly different shape, making it incompatible with the old XLIM devices (and vice versa with their pods).

It’s a real shame because I would’ve loved to have used this new replaceable coil pod in my original XLIM device. However, it’s understandable that they would have to tweak the design to allow the coil to fit appropriately.

The coils are press-fit style, and you get two in the kit, a 0.6Ω, and a 0.8Ω. However, there are the same three resistance options available as the original XLIM pods with the following ratings:

• 0.6Ω Coil (18-22W)
• 0.8Ω Coil (13-17W)
• 1.2Ω coil (8-12W) 

The pods still use a side-fill system with a rubber plug. It works just the same as the original, which isn’t a good or bad thing as it’s easy enough to open, and there’s a large fill port. However, the one place where OXVA is still behind the competition is not offering an easier, more leak-resistant top-fill mechanism.

It’s also worth noting (just like the original pods) these are tinted. This, in combination with how they sit a little further down in the device, does make it a little trickier to see your last remaining juice level.

Performance

I could easily just refer you to our original XLIM V2 pod review because, quite honestly, the XLIM C with replaceable coils performs exactly the same – which is fantastic!

That’s also no mean feat. It’s often the case that with replaceable coils, you might get a slight drop-off in performance than with integrated coils.

However, everything about the XLIM C coils is on point. They deliver absolutely superb flavor, some of the best in a pod vape, and they still have a brilliant lifespan. I’m pushing 10 refills (20ml juice) with the 0.8Ω with no hint of a drop-off in flavor.

Obviously, this is going to be juice dependent. If you tend to vape sweet juices, then expect your coil life not to be quite as good.

I’ve tested the pods and coils with both freebase and salt nic juices, and they perform well with both.

The 0.6Ω gives you a more open draw with an ever so slightly warmer vape. There’s definitely a difference when switching between the power modes.

Personally, I prefer the 0.8Ω as I think it provides just as good flavor. It delivers a better MTL vape but can still venture into the DTL territory. It’s also far more efficient on the battery.

I thought I’d miss full control over the wattage, but most of the time, I just set the XLIM C to the medium setting, and I was more than content. Most will be happy with the power setting that the XLIM C offers.

The only thing I miss from the XLIM V2 is being able to glance at the screen to see my battery level. The three-level LED battery gauge isn’t quite as helpful.

Two things that I’m glad function equally as well on the XLIM C as the previous XLIM devices are the auto-draw switch and the adjustable airflow.

The auto-draw is one of the best in a pod vape; just the slightest pull and the device fires instantly with no hiccups. 

The airflow adjustment is also great, enabling you to go from an extremely tight MTL to a very loose MTL or restricted DTL. The slider also stays in place, which is great.

The battery is equally as impressive; I am still amazed they managed to fit a 900mAh cell into such a compact design.

Verdict

The OXVA XLIM C has not let the XLIM name down; it’s an exceptional pod vape. 

It delivers an equally impressive vape performance as the previous OXVA XLIM devices and pods.

The compact and sleek styling of the device is excellent, along with the top-notch build quality.

The XLIM C is easy to use and offers all the essential features of a pod vape. It has adjustable power, an excellent auto-draw switch, and adjustable airflow.

If you prefer to use replaceable coils rather than integrated ones, the XLIM C is easily one of the best options on the market.

If you already have the XLIM V2 and are happy with the pods, there’s honestly no reason to change. The V2 has better features with the OLED screen, and the performance is the same.
