OXVA XLIM GO 2 Review

The OXVA XLIM GO 2 is the latest iteration in OXVA’s popular GO series. Building on the success of the original XLIM GO, this updated model brings a few significant upgrades while maintaining the simplified, beginner-friendly approach that made its predecessor so popular.

The device features a substantial 1500mAh battery – a 50% increase over the original GO’s 1000mAh capacity – housed in a lightweight plastic construction measuring 117.4mm x 26.4mm x 15mm and weighing just 46g.

The GO 2 introduces OXVA’s advanced UniTech 2.0 dual mesh coil technology, paired with larger 3ml capacity pods (2ml in TPD regions) that are fully compatible with the entire XLIM pod range.

Key upgrades include 2A fast charging (up from 1A), the new dual mesh coil system for enhanced flavor and longevity, and the larger pod capacity.

The device maintains the draw-activated firing system, adjustable airflow slider, and LED battery indicator of the original, while adding compatibility with four different pod resistances ranging from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω to accommodate both MTL and RDL vaping styles. The XLIM GO 2 is available in eight different color options and retails for approximately $15.

OXVA XLIM GO 2 Review

Design & Build Quality

Picking up the XLIM GO 2 for the first time, I was immediately struck by how familiar yet refined it feels compared to the original GO.

OXVA has kept that classic XLIM silhouette we all know and love – it’s essentially identical in dimensions to every other device in the range, maintaining that perfectly slim profile at just 117mm tall and 26mm wide. At 46g, it’s actually a gram heavier than the original GO, but you’d never notice it in practice.

What’s immediately apparent is the shift away from the textured leather finishes that made the original GO so distinctive. Gone are those lovely material wraps that gave the first version such character – instead, we’re looking at smooth plastic finishes across all eight color options. I’ll be honest, this is a bit of a shame. Those textured panels on the original GO gave it a more premium feel and better grip, and I genuinely miss that tactile experience. The smooth plastic here feels fine, but it’s definitely more generic.

That said, the build quality remains absolutely solid. Those nicely rounded edges still provide comfortable ergonomics, and the ridged grip strips along the sides are retained from the original.

The magnetic pod connection feels solid, but there is a little wobble like the previous XLIM GO.

The LED indicator is beautifully subtle – it’s designed as a circular orb that illuminates around the OXVA logo, completely hidden until you draw or charge, then glowing with a pleasing ring effect.

I was sent both the Black Shadow and Metal Silver versions for testing. There’s definitely a noticeable difference in finishes between them. The Metal Silver has a lovely metallic sheen that catches light beautifully and feels smooth to the touch, while the Black Shadow features more of a matte finish with subtle texture. Both look sharp, though I do miss those distinctive leather-textured panels that made the original GO stand out from the crowd.

The real standout improvement is in the airflow system. While the slider itself feels identical to the original GO – smooth, precise, with just the right amount of resistance – OXVA has clearly learned from their NeXLIM GO success. Like that device, the GO 2 features dual airflow holes. This means even when fully closed, you get a perfectly calibrated MTL draw rather than the overly loose experience some complained about with the original.

The USB-C port positioning and overall layout remain unchanged, which is fine – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I do appreciate the rubber base that helps with desk stability – it’s not going to stop the device from being a bit wobbly when standing upright due to that curved design, but it definitely helps prevent sliding around on smooth surfaces.

The GO 2 maintains that grab-and-go simplicity that made its predecessor so appealing, just with some thoughtful refinements under the hood.

OXVA XLIM GO 2 Review

Features

The XLIM GO 2 sticks firmly to that “keep it simple” philosophy that made the original such a hit, but OXVA has managed to sneak in some decent upgrades.

The most significant improvement has to be that massive 1500mAh battery – a 50% jump from the original GO’s 1000mAh capacity. That’s absolutely mental for a device this size and price point, and it completely transforms the daily usage experience.

Impressively they’ve also upgraded the charging from 1A to 2A without adding any bulk to the device. The original GO’s slow charging was honestly its biggest weakness – waiting over an hour for a full charge was painful in 2024. The GO 2 sorts this right out, getting you from empty to full in around 50 minutes, with a quick 15-minute top-up giving you 40% battery back. That’s the kind of real-world improvement that actually matters.

The power output remains at 5-30W with automatic wattage adjustment based on your pod resistance, which is exactly what you want on a beginner-friendly device. No menus to navigate, no settings to mess with – just optimal performance straight out of the box.

The LED battery indicator keeps things beautifully simple with the same three-color system:

  • Green for 65-100%,
  • Blue for 30-65%,
  • Red for that “charge me soon” warning below 30%.

The same circular LED ring illuminates during charging to show you the current charge level, which is a lovely touch.

Where the GO 2 really shines is in that improved airflow system I mentioned earlier. That dual-hole design means you can actually achieve a proper tight MTL draw when fully closed, addressing one of the main complaints about the original.

The draw activation works flawlessly across the entire airflow range, which isn’t always a given with pod systems. Whether you’ve got it locked down tight for MTL or opened right up for RDL, the firing is instant and consistent.

OXVA XLIM GO 2 Pods/Coils

Pods & Coils

Here’s where the XLIM GO 2 gets really interesting – OXVA has introduced their cutting-edge UniTech 2.0 dual mesh technology to the GO lineup, which is a massive upgrade from the single mesh coils in the original GO.

If you’ve experienced the dual mesh magic in the NeXLIM GO, you’ll know why that’s a good thing. It’s the same advanced coil system that completely blew me away in that device, now available in this budget-friendly package.

There’s also a jump from 2ml to 3ml capacity (2ml for TPD regions), which might not sound like much on paper, but that 50% increase genuinely transforms the daily experience. Fewer refills mean less faff, and when you’re dealing with side-fill pods, every refill you can avoid is a win.

The filling process itself remains unchanged from the original GO – that side-fill port with the rubber plug that can be a bit fiddly if you’ve got chunky fingers like me.

What’s brilliant is that these new pods maintain full compatibility with the entire XLIM ecosystem. You can use any XLIM pod in the GO 2, from the basic V2 cartridges to the premium top-fill options. But if you already own any XLIM device, you can grab these new UniTech 2.0 pods and instantly upgrade your existing setup. That XLIM Pro or SQ Pro 2 sitting in your drawer? Chuck one of these new pods in and you’ll get the same dual mesh performance and extended longevity.

The kit comes with a single 0.8Ω pod, but you can grab 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, and 1.2Ω variants separately to dial in your perfect vaping experience.

The UniTech 2.0 system is where things get technical but genuinely impressive. This dual mesh setup features multi-layer cotton for superior wicking, a repositioned coil structure for optimized performance, and a refined 5-point sealing system. What this translates to in real-world usage is dramatically improved flavor, more efficient heating, and OXVA claims up to 45% more vapor per puff compared to the original GO pods.

But the real game-changer is longevity. While the original GO pods were decent, these new UniTech 2.0 pods are claiming up to 15 refills with maintained performance.

During my testing with the included 0.8Ω pod, I’ve pushed well beyond that mark and the flavor is still going strong. The dual mesh design seems to distribute the workload more evenly, which explains why they last so much longer while delivering consistently excellent flavor. It’s genuinely impressive engineering at this price point.

OXVA XLIM GO 2 Review

Performance

After two weeks of daily use with the XLIM GO 2, I can confidently say this delivers a completely different experience from the original GO – and it’s all down to that UniTech 2.0 dual mesh technology.

The flavor improvement is genuinely night and day. Where the original GO was perfectly adequate, the GO 2 delivers flavor that genuinely rivals pods costing twice the price.

Using the included 0.8Ω pod, I’m getting rich, nuanced flavor that captures every note of my test liquids. The dual mesh setup means rapid heat-up and incredibly efficient vapor production – I’m picking up subtle flavor notes that I’ve only experienced with the NeXLIM pods. The wicking keeps up beautifully too, even during extended chain vaping sessions. I’ve genuinely tried to push it to dry hits during testing and simply can’t make it happen.

The improved airflow system makes a massive difference to the overall experience. That tighter MTL draw when fully closed is exactly what was missing from the original GO. I can finally get that proper restricted draw that satisfies my MTL cravings, while still having the flexibility to open it up for a looser RDL experience. The 0.8Ω pod handles this entire range beautifully – no turbulence, no whistling, just smooth, consistent draws.

The draw activation is spot-on too, firing instantly whether you’re running tight MTL or wide-open RDL.

But the real star of the show is that 1500mAh battery. Coming from the original GO’s 1000mAh capacity, this feels like a completely different device. I’m consistently getting three full days of heavy use, which is crazy for a device this size and price. Even better, the device maintains consistent output right until the battery hits critical levels. Unlike some pod systems that start struggling at 20% battery, the GO 2 keeps delivering satisfying hits right down to the red LED warning.

I’ve tested it with everything from 50/50 nic salts to 70/30 freebase blends, and it handles the lot with no issues.

The only minor gripe I have is that the side-fill port can be a bit fiddly, especially if you’re using bottles with thicker nozzles. But honestly, when pods are 3ml capacity and lasting 15+ refills, you’re not filling them that often anyway. And when that 2A fast charging gets you from empty to full in under an hour, even battery anxiety becomes a thing of the past.

OXVA XLIM GO 2 Review

Verdict

The XLIM GO 2 is exactly what a sequel should be – everything that made the original brilliant, but genuinely better in every meaningful way. OXVA has taken that winning formula of simplicity and reliability, then added proper dual mesh technology, a massive battery upgrade, and fixed the airflow issues that held the original back.

At around $15, this is absolutely exceptional value. You’re getting UniTech 2.0 dual mesh performance, battery life that’ll last you days, and build quality that feels solid despite the budget pricing.

The flavor improvement over the original GO is genuinely night and day – this isn’t just an incremental upgrade, it’s a complete transformation.

Who should buy this? Honestly, almost everyone. New vapers will love the simplicity and reliability. Experienced vapers will be impressed by the flavor performance and value proposition. MTL enthusiasts will appreciate that improved airflow system. RDL vapers will enjoy the flexibility. Even seasoned XLIM users should consider this as a backup or travel device.

The XLIM GO 2 is proof that you don’t need to spend big money to get genuinely excellent performance.

OXVA has absolutely nailed the brief here. This is the pod vape I’ll be recommending to anyone looking for their first proper device, and it’s earned a permanent spot in my rotation too. Highly recommended.
