The XLIM PRO 2 DNA builds on the proven Pro 2 foundation while incorporating EVOLV’s advanced temperature control technology.

It features the same 1300mAh battery and 5-30W wattage range, but now includes a DNA chipset that reads coil temperature over 30,000 times per second to prevent dry hits entirely. This technology works exclusively with the new stainless steel XLIM Top Fill cartridges.

The device maintains the same compact 114.5 x 25 x 15mm dimensions as the Pro 2, but introduces new features like Replay technology that allows you to recreate your perfect puff.

Design & Build Quality

At 114.5 x 25 x 15mm and weighing 67g, it maintains the perfect balance of compactness and substantial feel that made the original so appealing. The device sits comfortably in hand and pocket with the familiar tall and slim profile OXVA has perfected.

The real difference becomes apparent with the construction materials. Where the standard Pro 2 offered artificial leather and IML panels, the DNA version comes in a mix of premium finishes.

The most impressive of which is the carbon fiber variant, which has green glow-in-the-dark flakes embedded throughout. The finish is absolutely stunning on this version. It’s pretty great on all the others, too.

The build quality feels exceptional in hand. The zinc alloy frame provides excellent structural integrity, and there’s a real premium feel that justifies the higher price point.

One key visual difference is the dual-button layout on the side. Unlike the single fire button on the standard Pro 2, the DNA version features both a heart button (for Replay functions) and a blank button (for various settings). Both buttons are well-positioned with good tactile feedback, though it takes some getting used to.

The 0.56-inch HD color screen is similar to the Pro 2, delivering crisp visuals and clear information display. The RGB light bar provides visual feedback, but can be completely disabled if you prefer. The airflow control slider operates smoothly and stays in position once adjusted, with three airflow holes providing a good range from tight MTL to restricted DL vaping.

The centerpiece feature is the anti-burn technology. This system reads coil temperature over 30,000 times per second – over 300 times more responsive than standard chips. When it detects high coil temperature (indicating a dry wick or empty pod), it automatically cuts power and displays “Fill Pod” on the screen. This completely eliminates dry hits and significantly extends pod lifespan. This feature only works with the new stainless steel XLIM cartridges.

The Replay technology is another standout feature. After taking a particularly satisfying puff, press the heart button once to save that exact power curve. A green heart icon appears on the screen, and every subsequent puff will follow the same temperature profile, ensuring consistent flavor and vapor production. To disable Replay mode, press the heart button twice.

The 0.56-inch HD color screen displays coil resistance, battery percentage, wattage, lock status, and puff counter. Below the screen, the RGB light bar provides visual feedback with four different modes: classic RGB, pulse, scroll, or turned off.

The wattage range remains 5-30W, with the device automatically selecting optimal power based on pod resistance. One impressive feature is EScribe compatibility. The device can be connected to EVOLV’s EScribe software via the included USB-C cable, allowing for deep customization of the user interface and power curves.

Pods & Coils

The XLIM PRO 2 DNA utilizes OXVA’s new stainless steel XLIM Top Fill cartridges, which are an evolution from the standard XLIM pods. These are specifically designed to work with the DNA chipset’s temperature control functionality.

The most important distinction is the coil material. While standard XLIM pods use A1 Kanthal mesh coils, the DNA version requires stainless steel coils to enable temperature control.

Currently, there are three stainless steel cartridge options available:

• 0.8Ω (included) – 12-16W recommended, optimized for MTL vaping
• 1.2Ω (available separately) – lower wattage MTL option

The kit comes with 2 pods (0.6Ω & 0.8Ω). Both included pods feature stainless steel mesh coils that deliver excellent flavor production and consistent performance. The 2ml capacity remains TPD compliant, constructed from durable PCTG material with a slight tint that still allows easy monitoring of e-liquid levels.

The fill port is positioned on the side of the pod, sealed with a reliable rubber plug. You can refill the pod without removing it from the device – simply lift the fill port cover and fill away. This design addresses leaking issues that occasionally affected earlier XLIM pods.

The XLIM PRO 2 DNA maintains backward compatibility with standard XLIM pods, but you lose all DNA chipset benefits – no temperature control, no anti-burn protection, and no Replay functionality.

0.6Ω Pod Performance:

The 0.6Ω stainless steel pod performs excellently for restricted direct lung vaping. I found my sweet spot around 20-22W, delivering a warm, flavorful vape with satisfying cloud production. What impressed me most was the consistency – every single puff delivered the same flavor intensity and warmth, regardless of battery level.

The anti-burn technology really shines with this pod. I deliberately tested it by chain vaping and pushing the limits, but never once experienced a dry hit. When the system detected potential issues, it would display “Fill Pod” and cut power, protecting both the coil and my taste buds.

0.8Ω Pod Performance:

This is where the XLIM PRO 2 DNA truly excels. The 0.8Ω pod at 14-16W produces outstanding MTL flavor that rivals the best on the market. The flavor production is excellent – crisp, clean, and intense without any muted notes or off-flavors.

I’ve been using the 0.8Ω pod as my primary MTL setup for weeks now, and the consistency is remarkable. Whether it’s the first puff of the day or after hours of use, the flavor remains identical.

Anti-Burn Technology in Practice:

The dry hit prevention works exactly as advertised. During testing, I experienced zero burnt hits, even when deliberately trying to trigger them. Occasionally, the system would trigger the “Fill Pod” message when the pod still had e-liquid, but this typically happened during very long draws with thick e-liquids.

Flavor Quality:

The flavor production from both pods is outstanding. The stainless steel coils combined with the DNA chipset’s temperature control create an incredibly clean, pure flavor experience. The temperature control ensures optimal vaporization without any burnt or harsh notes.

Pod lifespan is significantly extended thanks to the anti-burn protection. I’ve been using the same pods for 3 weeks without any degradation in flavor or performance.

The XLIM PRO 2 DNA features the same 1300mAh internal battery as the standard Pro 2, and the performance is impressive for a device of this size.

With moderate to heavy usage, I consistently achieved a full day of vaping with both pods. The 0.8Ω pod at 14-16W delivers excellent battery efficiency, often lasting into a second day with lighter use.The 2A USB-C fast charging brings the battery from empty to full in approximately 35-40 minutes. During charging, the screen displays the charging percentage in large, clear font.

Verdict

I’ve been a massive fan of the entire XLIM lineup, with the Pro 2 being my favorite. I never dreamed that OXVA could improve on it by including EVOLV’s industry-leading DNA chipset.

But here we are, and it truly is a thing of beauty. The XLIM PRO 2 DNA is undoubtedly the best XLIM device on the market, and possibly one of the best pod vapes.

I appreciate that the hefty price tag might not be for everyone, but the advanced features and performance improvements justify the additional cost.

The anti-burn technology alone makes this device worth considering. The complete elimination of dry hits not only improves the vaping experience but also significantly extends pod lifespan. The consistency and flavor quality delivered by the DNA chipset are exceptional.

And that extended pod lifespan will offset your initial layout for the DNA, over the regular PRO 2.

Overall, the XLIM PRO 2 DNA sets a new standard for pod systems and is one of OXVA’s best devices to date, along with the NeXLIM. They really have been killing it recently.
