Building on the success of the OXVA XLIM 2, the OXVA XLIM Pro is the latest addition to the XLIM family.

The XLIM Pro boasts some slight upgrades with a built-in 1000mAh battery, adjustable wattage from 5-30W, and adjustable airflow. 

It also features USB Type-C fast charging and an upgraded pod system with a leak-proof design. 

The new Pro pods have a 2ml capacity and use A1 Kanthal mesh coils, available in three resistances: 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, and 1.2Ω. 

The XLIM V2 was already rated one of our favorite pod vapes. Will the PRO improve on that?

The Bottom Line

OXVA XLIM series is already one of the best pod series on the market. The XLIM Pro brings incremental upgrades to power and battery capacity. However, it still delivers the same impressive vape experience and performance as the XLIM V2, just with a flashier design. In addition, the new pods are more leak-resistant and cross-compatible. If you own a V2, go for the new pods. For everyone else, the XLIM Pro is highly recommended.

Design & Build Quality 

The OXVA XLIM Pro is a beautifully designed pod device, maintaining the understated elegance of the XLIM 2 while introducing a touch of modern flair. 

The combination of metal and leather (or carbon fiber) materials adds a premium feel to the device, making it not only visually appealing but also comfortable to hold.

Measuring 111mm tall, 25mm wide, and 14.3mm thick (with pod attached) and weighing 66g, the XLIM Pro is compact and lightweight, perfect for carrying around in your pocket. The slightly curved edges and flat base make the device practical and easy to handle.

The 0.69″ OLED screen on the device’s front side is an upgrade in size from the 0.42″ screen on the XLIM 2. However, the only real extension you get on the screen compared to the old one is an RGB strip along the bottom. 

It adds a little more flair and vibrancy to an otherwise standard screen but is not an essential upgrade, in my opinion.

It does provide clear and detailed information, including wattage, resistance, puff count, and battery level – just like with the XLIM V2.

The single button is no longer below the screen. Instead, it has moved to the side of the device, which is a lot more awkward to press, in my opinion.

If, like me, you tend to rely heavily on the auto-draw function, then it’s not much of an issue. But those that like to manually fire would find the V2 has a better layout.

The fire button, as before, serves multiple functions, including firing and adjusting settings.

The adjustable airflow slider is located on the right-hand side of the device, with three slots that provide a range of draw options, from a very open MTL draw to an extremely tight MTL draw. The slider has good resistance and stays in place when adjusted.

The USB Type-C port at the base of the device allows for fast charging, making it convenient to recharge the 1000mAh battery.

The XLIM Pro pods have also been upgraded, featuring a 2ml capacity, a new refill position, and a leak-proof design. In addition, they connect magnetically to the device without wiggle or movement, ensuring a secure fit. We’ll cover this new change in more detail later.

Overall I really like the design of the OXVA XLIM Pro. It’s not too dissimilar to the previous XLIM devices. It just has a touch more fancy styling to it.

It’s still a compact and comfortable pod system with exceptional build quality.

Features 

The OXVA XLIM Pro is packed with features that make it a standout device in the pod vaping market. 

The built-in 1000mAh battery is an upgrade from the 900mAh battery in the XLIM 2, providing longer vaping sessions between charges. 

The adjustable wattage range of 5-30W is slightly higher than older XLIM devices. 

It is still combined with the intelligent wattage setting, ensuring the appropriate wattage is set for the attached pod’s resistance.

The device supports auto-draw and manual button activation, with an excellent auto-draw trigger.

The single button allows for easy control of various settings:

• 5 clicks = on/off 
• 3 clicks = wattage adjustment mode. Once flashing, click the button to move up in 0.5 increments. It only goes one way; there’s no round-robin. 
• 4 clicks = locks the fire button, but it can still be fired via draw activation.

The 0.69″ OLED screen is excellent. It’s clear and bright and provides all your vape information at a glance. 

The adjustable airflow slider offers a wide range of draw options, catering to MTL and very restricted DL vapers. 

The USB Type-C fast charging ensures a quick recharge time for the 1000mAh battery, with a 2A charge rate – which is excellent.

Pods/Coils 

The OXVA XLIM Pro utilizes a new pod system, offering improved performance and functionality. 

The pods have a 2ml e-liquid capacity and a leak-proof design, ensuring a clean and hassle-free vaping experience. 

The pods are the same as the previous ones in almost every aspect except for the position of the refill plug.

Instead of the plug sitting towards the bottom of the pod (where it gets concealed when attached to the device). They now sit higher up on the side.

This does help negate one of the only issues I had with the previous pods, which was that they would sometimes leak, especially when filled several times with 50/50 juice.

However, it does mean that the fill port is now visible on the pod when in use. But some might prefer that they don’t have to remove the pod to refill it.

It’s also a bit of a marketing stretch that OXVA classes them as top-fill pods. When in actuality, there are more side-fill pods.

The pods come in precisely the same configurations as the previous XLIM pods:

• 0.6Ω (18-25W) – Designed for RDL vaping
• 0.8Ω (12-16W) – Designed for MTL vaping
• 1.2Ω (10-12W) – Designed for MTL vaping

You get 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω included in the kit. They are also cross-compatible with other XLIM devices. 

So you could just buy the new pods and use them in an XLIM V2.

Performance 

The OXVA XLIM Pro delivers exceptional performance, just like that of the already impressive XLIM V2. 

The adjustable wattage and airflow options work exceptionally well to allow for a customized vaping experience.

The airflow is easy to adjust and can easily cater to all types of MTL vaping. I have no problem getting a tight MTL draw, just like with previous XLIM devices. It can also get you to a restricted DTL draw when fully open with the 0.6Ω pod.

It’s also worth noting the airflow is super smooth throughout, and the auto-draw function on the OXVAs is as good as ever – which is one of the best for a pod system.

The 0.6Ω coil provides a smooth and flavorful, with ample cloud production. It can be used as a loose MTL or a restricted DTL.

The 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω coils cater to MTL vapers, offering a tighter draw but just as intense flavor. The only difference between the two is the 0.8Ω is a little warmer and punchier (at the expense of a bit of battery life)

I don’t feel there’s any real difference in the performance of the new pods compared to the older-style ones. Each resistance behaves the same.

But that’s no bad thing because they were always some of the best pods for performance on the market.

The only real difference is with the filling method, and they are much more resistant to leaking.

I had no issues with wicking, leaking, or misfiring when running 50/50 juice through the pods, and they all coped well with a 70VG juice as well.

The 1000mAh battery provides ample power and will easily get you through a day of vaping, even with the 0.6Ω pod. I was stretching it to three days with the 1.2Ω. 

The 2A USB Type-C fast charging is great and can get you back up and running in less than an hour. 

Overall I have zero complaints about the performance of the OXVA XLIM Pro. Like its predecessor, it’s easily up there as one of the best-performing pod devices on the market.

Verdict 

The OXVA XLIM Pro is an incremental upgrade to the XLIM series, offering a flashier, sleek design on an already impressive pod system.

There’s a slight bump in battery capacity (1000mAh) and maximum power output (30W), along with an RGB light on the screen.

Other than that, it’s pretty much the same feature set and performance from the XLIM Pro as with the XLIM V2. 

The other significant upgrade is with the new pods and their top/side fill port. They perform just as well as previous pods, which is excellent. But now, have less chance of leaking, especially when refilling.

If you already own an XLIM V2, it’s probably not worth the upgrade. Instead, just go out and buy the new pods. 

If you don’t own an XLIM series device, you are missing out. They are easily some of the best-performing pods on the market – and the XLIM Pro is now the top of the line.
