OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 6th Anniversary Gift Box

Product Description

OXVA is celebrating their 6th anniversary in style, and they’ve sent over not one, but two cracking new additions to their popular Xlim range.

We’re talking about the Xlim Pro 3 and the Xlim Ultra – both take the series in slightly different directions. The Pro 3 is the natural evolution of the Pro 2 we loved, whilst the Ultra is OXVA’s first foray into touchscreen territory, bringing a properly modern feel to the pod kit game.

The Xlim Pro 3 features a 1500mAh internal battery and a 1.05-inch HD color screen. It offers adjustable wattage from 5-30W with both button and draw activation options. The device includes horizontally-mounted airflow control and OXVA’s Super Pulse System for consistent performance throughout the battery’s discharge cycle. It’s compatible with the full range of Xlim pods in four resistance options: 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, and 1.2Ω, covering tight MTL through to restricted DL vaping styles.

OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Review

The Xlim Ultra steps things up with a 2.2-inch full touchscreen display and the same 1500mAh battery capacity. The device features comprehensive puff tracking with daily, weekly, and monthly statistics displayed on graphs. Additional functionality includes customizable animations, multiple theme options, thirteen language choices, eco mode for extended battery life, adjustable screen brightness and timeout settings, and various quality-of-life features.

Like the Pro 3, it’s compatible with all Xlim pods and includes vertically-mounted airflow control plus a physical lock switch for the fire button.

OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Review

Design & Build Quality

Right, let’s get stuck into how these two devices actually feel in hand, because there are some interesting differences between them and some clever refinements from the Pro 2.

The Xlim Pro 3 keeps that familiar flattened pen-style design we loved from the Pro 2, and honestly, it’s still brilliant. It’s comfortable, pocketable, and feels premium without being flashy. OXVA has kept all the important elements – the rounded edges, the quality zinc alloy construction, and those gorgeous finish options including carbon fiber effects and leather-style panels.

At roughly the same dimensions as the Pro 2, it feels immediately familiar if you’ve used the previous version. The weight is spot on too, substantial enough to feel quality but not so heavy it becomes a burden in your pocket.

The standout design improvement on the Pro 3 is that horizontal airflow control. Now, this might seem like a small change, but it’s bloody brilliant in practice. On the Pro 2, the vertical airflow could occasionally get covered by your hand depending on how you held it. OXVA has clearly listened to feedback and rotated it 90 degrees, positioning it adjacent to the fire button. It’s much harder to accidentally block now, and the adjustment itself is nice and stiff so it won’t shift about in your pocket.

The 1.05-inch screen is noticeably larger than the Pro 2’s 0.56-inch display, making everything easier to read at a glance. The information is crisp, the colors are vibrant, and it stays bright even in direct sunlight – something I really appreciate when vaping outdoors.

Now, the Xlim Ultra is a completely different beast in terms of design philosophy. Where the Pro 3 is sleek and understated, the Ultra is chunky and proudly tech-forward.

It’s wider, thicker, and taller than the Pro 3, with less rounding to the body. OXVA has gone for a more angular, modern look that screams “I’ve got a massive touchscreen.” And honestly? It works.

The device feels substantial in hand without being uncomfortable. My review unit came in this carbon-fiber design with gold racing stripes (Ultra Carbon), tying into OXVA’s F1-inspired marketing for its 6th anniversary. It’s a bit flashy, but it’s tastefully done.

That 2.2-inch touchscreen dominates the front of the Ultra, taking up about two-thirds of the device below the OXVA branding and fire button. And I’ve got to say, the screen quality is genuinely impressive. The touch sensitivity is right up there with modern smartphones – responsive, accurate, and satisfying to use. No frustrating missed taps or laggy responses here. It’s a proper touchscreen experience, not some half-baked attempt like we’ve seen on cheaper devices.

The Ultra has gone back to vertical airflow control, which might seem like a step backwards after praising the Pro 3’s horizontal design. However, because the Ultra is taller, it’s actually less of an issue. Your hand naturally sits lower on the device, so you’re unlikely to cover the airflow slots. The adjustment is smooth and stays put when set. One feature unique to the Ultra is the physical lock switch on the side, which disables the fire button. I’ve already accidentally fired this thing in my pocket once, so that lock switch has become my best mate whenever I’m putting it away.

Build quality on both devices is exceptional, exactly what we’ve come to expect from OXVA. The materials feel premium, the fit and finish is spot on, and there are no rattles or loose components. The pod connection on both uses strong magnets that hold everything securely without being difficult to remove. The USB-C ports are on the bottom of both devices, so no standing them up while charging, but OXVA claims 80% charge in 30 minutes, so they won’t be lying down for long.

If I’m comparing the two directly, the Pro 3 is the one I’d grab for slipping into a pocket and heading out. It’s discreet, comfortable, and just gets on with the job. The Ultra, on the other hand, is the one I reach for when I’m at home or don’t mind carrying something a bit bulkier. It’s a conversation starter, it’s fun to interact with, and that massive screen just makes everything more enjoyable to navigate.

Both are brilliantly made, but they’re aimed at slightly different users – the Pro 3 for those who value portability and simplicity, the Ultra for tech enthusiasts who want all the bells and whistles.

OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Features

Features

OXVA Xlim Pro 3 Features

The Pro 3 keeps things refreshingly simple. That 1500mAh battery (up from the Pro 2’s 1300mAh) easily gets me through a full day of heavy vaping. The 1.05-inch HD color screen is a lovely upgrade – crisp, vibrant, and displays battery percentage, wattage, pod resistance, and puff count clearly. It stays bright in direct sunlight, which is brilliant.

OXVA’s Super Pulse System maintains consistent performance even as the battery drains to 1%. I’ve tested this extensively, and there’s genuinely no drop-off in flavor or vapor production as the battery gets lower.

Operating the Pro 3 is dead simple:

  • Five clicks to turn it on or off
  • Four clicks to lock the fire button
  • Three clicks to adjust wattage
  • Two clicks to enter the menu system
  • One click to fire (or just draw activate)

The menu lets you choose from three themes, customize the LED light, and clear your puff count. Both button and draw activation work flawlessly – the draw activation fires with even the gentlest inhale.

USB-C charging at 2A gets you to 80% in about 30 minutes, and the screen shows estimated charge time remaining.

OXVA Xlim Ultra Features

The Ultra is packed with features for tech enthusiasts, also backed by a 1500mAh battery.

That 2.2-inch touchscreen is genuinely responsive, operating via intuitive swipes:

  • Swipe up to unlock the device
  • Swipe left to adjust wattage
  • Swipe right for puff tracking and statistics
  • Swipe up (from home) to change animations
  • Swipe down for the main options menu

The puff tracking is comprehensive, showing daily, weekly, and monthly stats on graphs.

The options menu includes eco mode (extends battery life without major flavor sacrifice), theme selection, thirteen language options, screen brightness/timeout adjustment, and general settings for restart/reset.

The four animation options (including off, thankfully) play smoothly when you vape. There’s a physical lock switch for the fire button – essential after I accidentally fired it in my pocket once.

Here’s what I love: none of these features affect the actual vape except wattage adjustment and eco mode. Everything else is quality-of-life stuff. Tinkerers will enjoy the customization, but if you just want to vape, you can ignore it all.

Both devices support button and draw activation flawlessly, with fast charging via USB-C.

OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Pods

Pods & Coils

Both devices use the same V3 pod system, compatible with all previous Xlim devices except the Xlim C. The pods are constructed from durable PCTG material in 2ml (TPD) or 3ml capacities. The juice level is easily visible through the tinted material.

The fill port has moved to the side of the pod, sealed with a rubber plug that’s easy to access. This new position has eliminated the leaking issues that occasionally cropped up with older pods – I’ve had zero leaks during extensive testing.

OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Pods

Four resistance options are available:

0.4Ω Pod (25-30W) – Your cloud-chasing option for restricted DL. At 30W, it delivers impressive vapor production with rich, intense flavor. I found it suits both devices brilliantly, particularly the Ultra.

0.6Ω Pod (18-25W) – Included in both kits, this is a cracking all-rounder. At 24W with airflow fully open, it’s a lovely RDL with excellent flavor and vapor. Close down the airflow for a nice loose MTL. That characteristic OXVA flavor hits in your mouth and at the back of your tongue when exhaling.

0.8Ω Pod (12-18W) – Also included. My personal sweet spot for MTL vaping. At 18W, the throat hit is spot on, and the flavor is concentrated and intense. Perfect for sedate RDL or proper MTL draws.

1.2Ω Pod (10-13W) – Your tight MTL option. At 13W with airflow half-closed, it’s perfect for a traditional cigarette-style draw with high-nic salts. Excellent throat hit without harshness.

All pods use mesh coil technology with Unitech 2.0 design. After nearly two weeks of heavy use, both my 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods are still performing brilliantly – no muted flavors or burnt taste. The wicking handles high VG liquids without issues, even during chain vaping.

Both devices automatically detect pod resistance and set appropriate wattage, though you can adjust within the recommended range. The cross-compatibility with previous Xlim pods is brilliant for existing users.

OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Review

Performance

OXVA Xlim Pro 3 Performance

The Pro 3 delivers exceptional performance across all four pod options. I’ve spent most of my time with the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods, and both have been brilliant.

The 0.6Ω pod at 24W provides a lovely RDL draw with excellent flavor and vapor production. That distinctive OXVA characteristic is here – flavor hits in your mouth initially, then full taste at the back of your tongue when exhaling. With 70/30 juice, vapor production is impressive. Close down the airflow for a nice loose MTL.

The 0.8Ω pod at 18W is where I found my sweet spot for MTL vaping. The throat hit is spot on, and the flavor is concentrated and intense. The 1.2Ω pod at 12W delivers a proper tight MTL draw, perfect for high-nic salts.

The 0.4Ω pod at 30W is a cloud chucker’s delight – I found it suits the Pro 3 better than the Pro 2, with fantastic flavor and impressive clouds.

The Super Pulse System genuinely works. I ran the battery to the dregs multiple times, and there’s no drop-off in flavor or vapor production from 100% to 1%. Battery life is excellent – a full day of heavy vaping with the 0.8Ω pod, most of a day with the 0.6Ω pod. Fast charging gets you to 80% during a break.

The horizontal airflow control is brilliant – adjust your draw without worrying about covering it with your hand. Both draw and button activation work flawlessly, firing instantly with no delay.

OXVA Xlim Ultra Performance

The Ultra’s vape is almost identical to the Pro 3. The 0.6Ω pod provides the same excellent RDL experience with OXVA’s signature flavor. I tested all four pods – the 1.2Ω for tight MTL, 0.8Ω for sedate RDL/MTL, and the 0.4Ω at 30W for clouds. I actually preferred the 0.4Ω pod on the Ultra – it delivers fantastic flavor and satisfying vapor.

Here’s the truth: if I’m purely judging the vape, I marginally prefer the Pro 3. The flavor feels ever so slightly more condensed. I don’t know why, as both use exactly the same pods, and are essentially the same batteries under all the extra tech.

Maybe it’s just me…either way, it’s a minor difference most won’t notice, but I think the Pro 3 just edges it.

However, the Ultra’s charm is that touchscreen experience. Despite the Pro 3’s fractionally better vape, I reach for the Ultra more often. Interacting with that responsive touchscreen, seeing detailed puff tracking, and having all those customization options makes it more engaging to use.

The physical lock switch is essential – I religiously use it. Battery life matches the Pro 3, and eco mode extends it without major flavor sacrifice.

Both devices deliver exceptional vapes with top-tier flavor, remarkable consistency, and excellent battery life.

  • Ultra: Flavor marginally less condensed than Pro 3
OXVA Xlim Ultra & Xlim Pro 3 Verdict

Verdict

OXVA has delivered two crackers for their 6th anniversary. The Xlim Pro 3 is the refined evolution of an already excellent device – bigger battery, larger screen, and that brilliant horizontal airflow design. The vape is outstanding across all four pod options. If you value portability, simplicity, and pure vaping performance, the Pro 3 is the one to get. It’s compact, intuitive, and delivers one of the best vaping experiences in the pod kit market.

The Xlim Ultra is OXVA’s tech enthusiast offering. That massive 2.2-inch touchscreen is genuinely impressive. Yes, it’s bulkier, and some features are unnecessary (cartoon cow, I’m looking at you), but it’s charming to use. The comprehensive puff tracking and customization options make it feel more like a gadget than just a vaping device. The vape is marginally behind the Pro 3 in flavor concentration, but it’s close enough that most won’t notice.

Both showcase exceptional build quality, versatile pod systems, effective Super Pulse System, excellent battery life, and fast charging. The cross-compatibility with previous Xlim pods is brilliant for existing users.

Which should you buy?

Upgrading from the Pro 2 or want the best pure vaping experience in a pocketable device? Get the Pro 3.

Enjoy loads of features, don’t mind extra bulk, and want that impressive touchscreen? The Ultra will keep you entertained whilst delivering an excellent vape.

I’ll be keeping both in rotation – the Pro 3 for heading out, the Ultra for home use. OXVA has knocked it out of the park. Highly recommended.
