Sense Herakles III Sub Ohm Tank | Preview

The Herakles ranges (Latin: Hercules) have been around in many guises. It went from the immeasurable Herakles Plus a with its large tank (3.6ml) and top airflow, to the lacking V2 without top airflow and the smallest of tanks (2ml) – short fill, but not short on flavor. Can the Herakles III return the range to be God of sub ohm heroes?

The original Herakles was one of the first sub ohm tanks on the market. So how has this latest and 3rd incarnation seen our hero grow up?

The Herakles III is a 24mm sub ohm tank with a 4.5ml juice capacity. It has both airflow and juice flow holes with a top fill flip hinged system. It comes with three Interchangeable sense V-jet coils with a Kanthal 0.6-ohm preinstalled and a 0.4-ohm in the box (0.2-ohm Stainless Steel is also available).

The Herakles III is available in 4 colours: Black, Blue, Rainbow and Stainless Steel.

Anyone looking for a new 24mm sub ohm tank with decent juice capacity and easy top-fill and good coil options for flavor and clouds.

The Herakles Plus was a fantastic sub ohm tank and highly recommended for great flavor and clouds. The V2 improved on its flavor with its shorter chimney, but in doing so sacrificed its juice capacity and was left with no room for top airflow.

The Herakles III improves on the juice capacity over both, has the bottom airflow of the V2 and the juice flow holes of both (Which need shutting off when re-filling the tank from the top). Overall it seems that Sense has taken the sensible approach if their goal was flavor. Although the Plus top airflow did a good job, the extra air was always going to impact flavor slightly.

Some nice additional features are the inclusion of the flip hinged top fill system and the use of the same tried and tested V-jet coils as the previous versions. It may not take the “Crown” in sub-ohm tanks for flavor, but its likely to be a solid contender.
