What is it?
The Smok IPX80 Kit is the latest pod mod kit from Smok, yes, another one!
This one has a name that reflects its distinctive selling point, and that’s that it has an IPX67 protection rating and an 80W output.
IPX67 rating means the device should be Waterproof, Shockproof, and Dustproof.
The IPX80 has an adjustable output of 1-80W, which should cater to the extensive range of coils available.
We don’t tend to see too many 80W mods with in-built batteries, but the Smok IPX80 comes with an internal 3000mAh battery. It supports a 1.4A charge rate via the USB Type C Port.
There’s a 0.96in color display on the front of the device to provide all your vaping data and make all of your adjustments.
There are 2 wheels that adjust the airflow as you turn them on the side of the mod.
The IPX80 is compatible with 2 different pods, but unlike other Smok kits, only one is included.
- RPM2 pod (included) – compatible with the RPM2 coil range.
- RPM pod – allows you to use the original RPM range of coils (sold separately).
The kit includes the RPM2 Mesh 0.16ohm coil and the RPM3 Dual wire coil, which has a 0.6ohm resistance.
The pod features that familiar ‘Duckbill’ mouthpiece that we’ve seen on previous Smok kits. It has a 5.5ml capacity, side fill port, and a clear area for you to view your juice level.
I’m sure TPD regulations will apply, and it will be 2ml capacity in the EU.
The IPX80 Kit is available in 7 colors: Grey, Blue, Black Carbon Fibre, Brown, Red, Fluid 7-Colour, and Fluid Black/Grey.
Who is it for?
Vapers who work outdoors or regularly break devices and want something small but robust. Probably won’t suit mouth-to-lung vapers.

Our Vibe
Another day, another Smok device.
There’s nothing amazingly original with the IPX80 kit, but it does undoubtedly cater to a particular demographic of vapers.
The fact that it is IPX67 rated will be good news for those Smok fans who want a more robust outdoor device.
With regards to performance, I’m not expecting anything too dissimilar to the popular Smok RPM40.
However, I do like the addition of the adjustable airflow via the 2 spinning wheels, and a 3000mAh internal battery should cover most vapers for a day. Although I’d like to have seen 2A, not 1.4A charging.
