Intro

The Smok Pozz Pro is a new pod system from Smok and the latest addition to the ‘Pozz’ range.

It features an 1100mAh battery, fully adjustable wattage, and airflow control. There’s a 0.6inch OLED screen to see all your vaping data.

The Pozz Pro has a 2.6ml refillable pod that utilizes the LP1 replaceable coils, and it comes with two 0.9Ω mesh coils in the kit.

The Smok Pozz Pro is available in color schemes: Silver Black Alloy, Silver Red Alloy, Green Blue Alloy, 7-Color Alloy, Black Alloy, Red Stabilized Wood, Fluid Black Grey, Fluid 7-Color.

Design & Style

The Pozz Pro is distinctly a Smok device from the styling.

Smok has this way of making their devices all stand out as being Smok products, and that’s not just from the large ‘Smok’ branding usually on them or the bold color schemes.

That being said, the Pozz Pro is definitely one of the better-looking Smok products I’ve come across. The model we have in for review is actually quite reserved for a Smok product, and while it still does have that glimmery colorful shine to it, I quite like it.

Another thing I really like about the Pozz Pro is its size and weight. It measures in at 106.6mm x 29mm x 12.5mm, and only weighs 59g. This is pretty impressive for a device that contains a 1100mAh battery and an OLED screen. It also makes it an incredibly comfortable device to hold in hand.

The device has a USB-C port on one side for charging, then a 0.6inch OLED display on the other with +/- adjustment buttons beneath. On the front of the device is a fire button, although the Pozz Pro can also be fired using auto-draw. 

On the back panel of the Pozz Pro, you will find an airflow adjustment slider. While it’s great to see fully adjustable airflow on a pod system, this one works most of the time. It covers what I would call a medium MTL to a kind of restricted DTL. 

However, I’m not overly satisfied with the airflow slider placement. If you are using the fire button to fire the device, you will naturally place your fingers over the airflow on the back. However, that can be negated by solely using the auto-draw, which is excellent in the Pozz Pro.

The 2.6ml pods slot perfectly into the top of the device. There are no magnets; it’s a push-fit affair. The pod matches the device well and is pretty leak-resistant, but I have some issues that I’ll cover later.

Overall the Pozz Pro is a distinctive pod system. It has good build quality, is great in the hand, full of features, and is probably one of the nicer Smok products.

Features

The Pozz Pro has an in-built 1100mAh battery that can be charged via its USB-Type C port at a 1A charge rate.

It features fully adjustable wattage from 5-25W and adjusts in 1W increments.

It has a 0.6inch OLED display that shows the current Wattage, Resistance, Puff counter, and battery status. The battery is also shown in percentage, which is good.

The Pozz Pro is a dual firing device using either the fire button or auto-draw. Smok gives you the option to switch off the fire button (shown below).

It has all the expected safety protection of a Smok pod system and is very easy to use.

• Power On/Off = 5 clicks of Fire button
• Adjust Wattage = Use the + or – buttons
• Lock Fire Button (only auto-draw) = 3 clicks of Fire Button
• Lock Wattage buttons = Press +/- simultaneously

Pod/Coils

The Pozz Pro only comes with one pod, which has a 2.6ml juice capacity.

The pod has a side fill port, which is an orange rubber plug. It’s easy enough to open and can accommodate most bottle sizes.

The pod’s base has two blue rubber/plastic sections that seem to help form a seal and prevent any leaking. They also have airflow holes in them, as it seems the airflow will travel up from the sides and across to the coil’s base.

This design helps to prevent any leaking. I can safely say it works, as I had no issues with any leaks whatsoever during my time using the pod system.

The mouthpiece of the pod is not the greatest for MTL. It’s a duck-billed style that is a little wide and thick for my liking. However, it’s not as chunky as the ones on the Nord devices.

The pod utilizes Smoks LP1 coils which are push-fit into the base of the pod.

It comes with two 0.9Ω mesh MTL coils in the kit. However, it is compatible with any of the LP1 range:

• 0.9Ω MTL Mesh Coil LP1 (Best 15W)
• 0.8Ω Mesh Coil LP1 (Best 12W)
• 0.8Ω DC MTL Coil LP1 (12-25W)
• 1.2Ω Mesh Coil LP1 (10-15W)

Performance

The Smok Pozz Pro really impressed me and performed far better than I expected.

The device itself is incredibly compact and easy to use. I especially love the auto-fire switch on it. It is one of the most responsive I’ve come across in a pod system.

This really helps, as I never used the fire button due to my fingers getting in the way of the airflow control.

The airflow control works ok, but you can’t really dial it in. I mean, it works with regards to adjusting the draw from a restricted DTL to a medium MTL draw. However, suppose you want to make small adjustments and leave it halfway. In that case, it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference, and the slide generally won’t stay in place anyway.

The Pozz Pro with the airflow completely closed off will not give you an extremely tight MTL draw. I guess the closest I can compare it to is the draw from a Caliburn A2 pod. It’s an MTL that should satisfy most, just not those that like it incredibly tight.

The 0.9Ω Meshed LP1 coils that come with the device do an excellent job at delivering a quality vape. They produce really good flavor that can rival almost any pod system out there. I set the power to 15W with these coils, and they did an excellent job.

Sadly, I didn’t have any other types of LP1 coils to try in the Pozz Pro. Which also meant I didn’t get to play around with wattage settings. However, I appreciate that it’s there and that I get full control over the power output.

The battery life was also solid with the Pozz Pro, as you’d expect from a device with 1100mAh when firing at low wattages. It’s not the fastest at recharging, taking about 90 minutes from draining.

Overall, the Pozz Pro is an excellent MTL pod system and easily one of Smok’s best.

Verdict

The Smok Pozz Pro is undoubtedly one of the best pod systems Smok has produced.

It can easily compete with any pod system when it comes to flavor and performance from the coils. The device has an excellent compact design and is one of the few to give you full adjustable wattage, airflow, and an OLED screen in a compact kit.

However, it’s not perfect.

There are probably better kits for restricted DTL vaping (that will also have larger juice capacity). While it performs great as an MTL device, it won’t satisfy those who love a tight MTL draw.
