The Smok RPM 5 & RPM 5 Pro are two new pod kits in the RPM range from Smok. As you can tell by the names, they are pretty similar, but one has more features.
Smok’s RPM Range has been ever-increasing, like many of their ranges. We’ve seen the likes of the RPM 2, 2S, RPM 4, all the way up to the RPM 80 and RPM 160.
As with most of these dual releases, the main difference between the Pro and the standard RPM 5 is the batteries.
The RPM 5 comes with an in-built 2000mAh battery, while the Pro can use an external 18650 battery.
They both support USB-C charging with a 1.4A charging rate.
Even though the Pro uses an external 18650, they both have the same output range of 5-80W and have full variable wattage.
There’s also a 0.96in color TFT screen on both of the devices.
The pods for the RPM 5’s have an enormous 6.5ml capacity, sadly it’s still only 2ml in the EU (TPD regulations).
The pods have a side-fill port, and there’s an airflow slide switch on the device to give fully adjustable airflow.
The RPM 5’s use the coils from the RPM3 range, and there are two in the kit a 0.15Ω and 0.23Ω.
The RPM 5’s are available in 8 colors: Black, White, Matte Gun Metal, Brown Leather, Grey Leather, Black Leather, Beige White Leather, and Prism Rainbow.

Who is it for?
Vapers who want a pod kit with a large battery and juice capacity.
While it seems that Smok just seems to release new pod kits every couple of weeks, there’s no denying that they generally do make improvements on the last versions.
The RPM 5 look pretty good to me, especially in the toned-down colors that they offer.
The huge 6.5ml juice capacity and the 2000mAh battery or single 18650 in the Pro are impressive for a portable pod system. And that large color screen will also come in handy.
Smok hasn’t changed the coils as they use the RPM 3 range, but from my experience, they performed well.
We’ll have to wait to see just how good the package is altogether.
