Smok RPM 80 / RPM 80 PRO Kit | Preview

Another Real Game Changer from Smok?

3 min read

The Smok RPM 80 Kits comes in two options: a standard and a Pro version.

Both kits are an update on the popular RPM40 coming in a slightly bigger size offering more power.

The main difference between the two RPM 80 kits is the standard variant comes with a built-in 3000mAh battery, whereas the ‘Pro’ utilizes a single 18650 battery.

The RPM80 Pro is also slightly larger so it can accommodate the larger capacity removable battery.

The rest of the features of both RPM80 devices are otherwise identical.

As the name suggests with the increase in battery capacities, both devices now have a maximum output of 80W and are powered by the new IQ-80 chipset.

As with the RPM40, the RPM80 has a 0.96inch color screen to display all your settings and info, and a micro-USB port for charging.

The other significant difference with the smaller RPM40 is the design of the pods and the coils that they utilize.

There are two pods included with the kit, an RPM pod, and the new RGC Pod, both with a 5ml juice capacity (2ml TPD).

Smok RPM 80 Kit
  • RPM Pod – uses the existing RPM coil range and comes with a 0.4ohm mesh coil installed.
  • RGC Pod – uses the new RGC coils. This includes a 0.17ohm NexMesh conical coil, which is included in the kit. The RGC pod also comes with an adjustable airflow base.

Smok is also releasing an RBA coil head for the new RGC pod (which thankfully comes with a 510 adapter), to go along with the current RBA base they offer for the RPM pod.

The RPM80 kits will be available in 7 colors: Black / White Resin, 7-Colour Resin, Black Carbon Fibre, Black Stab Wood, Red Stab Wood, Fluid Gold, and Fluid Blue.

The RPM40 was a great AIO kit by Smok, so it makes sense to offer a larger variant and especially one that can utilize a single 18650 battery.

The RPM kits are fighting it out with the VooPoo Vinci devices, and VooPoo already brought out the ‘X’ with a removable 18650 battery design.

However, what I really like about the new RPM80’s is the RGC pod which brings with it NexMesh conical coils, and fully adjustable airflow! (something which I’ve been crying out for Smok to do for ages).

The RBA base for the RGC also looks great, and thankfully they’ve included a 510 adapter with the design.

This could be an excellent kit allowing full customization of your vape in a compact design. We’ll let you know our full thoughts as soon as we get one in for review.
