Smok tries to one-up the Suorin Pro.

Smok Thiner Pod Kit

What is it?

The Smok Thiner Pod Kit is the latest pod-style kit to be released by Smok.

In typical Smok style, it takes many design cues from other popular devices, namely the Suorin Air range.

In fact, at first glance, you could say it was just a replica of the Suorin Air Pro. However, the Smok version does offer a lot more features.

First, let’s cover the design.

The Smok Thiner Pod Kit has an extremely thin profile (hence the name) measuring at only 10mm thick. Like the Suorin Air devices, its shape and form are easily comparable to a credit card.

The Smok Thiner is a no-fuss style of pod kit, opting for disposable pods rather than replaceable coils. The pods have a 4ml (2ml for TPD regulated areas) juice capacity.

It’s a simple plug-and-play system. Although there’s no indication whether the pods connect via magnets or friction, but just based on the design, I’m sure they’ll be easy to remove and replace from the device.

One evident thing is the angled coil in the pod, leading to the mouthpiece at the top corner of the pod. Which is certainly different from the Sourin devices.

It also looks like the juice fill port is on the side of the pod, rather than the base, which should minimize any leaks.

The Smok Thiner comes with only one pod, which is a 0.8ohm mesh coil, and It has the best wattage indicated at 12W on the pod itself.

The device has a variable output range of 5-25W, and there is a small button that will enable you to adjust the power.

There’s also a 0.69-inch OLED display on the device’s front panel to enable you to see your wattage setting, along with battery status, coil resistance, and puff count.

The device has a 750mAh internal battery and can be charged via USB Type-C at a 0.9A charge rate.

The Smok Thiner is available in 6 color options: Black, Grey, Silver Red, Silver Lake Blue, Silver Blue, and Blue Purple.

Who is it for?

Vapers looking for an easy-to-use but stylish and highly portable pod kit.

Smok Thiner Pod Kit

Our Vibe

The Smok Thiner certainly isn’t the most original pod kit, but it does follow Smok’s trend of imitating other devices and adding a few more features.

It’s a shame that it uses disposable pods and not replaceable coils, but I’m sure the slim design limits the ability to safely and securely replace a coil.

It also means it’s a no-fuss type of device, which could be good to appeal to beginner vapers. However, with only one coil option, which is a 0.8ohm mesh coil, no adjustable airflow, and Smok’s tendency to keep things airy – I’m pretty sure it won’t suit MTL vapers or those transitioning from smoking.

This all leaves me a little confused as to who this device will ultimately appeal to. Most experienced vapers looking for a portable kit will lean towards something more adjustable (with airflow) and potentially more affordable with replaceable coils.

That being said, the Smok Thiner is an attractive-looking device, and it might just be more of a fashion accessory than an all-around excellent pod kit.

Will try and hold full judgment until we get to test the vape experience it has to offer.
