SXmini Mi Class Pod System Kit | Preview

The SXmini Mi Class Kit is a 400mAh pod system utilizing the new YiHi SX290 chipset.

Yihi has entered the realm of high-end pod systems with the SXmini Mi Class.

It keeps true to their tubular style designs and is constructed in stainless steel with a photochemical etching along the back for a luxurious look.

The SXmini Mi Class uses the YiHi SX290 chipset and comes with a 400Mah internal battery, designated fire button and a small OLED display screen. The screen will display the current battery level, along with the current Voltage and a puff counter.

It has a power output ranging between and 7-13 watts and utilizes replaceable pods that have a 1.8ml capacity and contain a 1-ohm ceramic heating coil.

The pods have a removable top cap for easy filling and fit into the device with a push-fit.

The SXmini Mi Class will be available in 5 colors – Black/Gold, Champagne, Black/Silver, Gun-Metal and Blue/Silver.

Any SXmini device is typically aimed at high-end vapers, and this pod system is not going to be for the average vaper. It’s for those that don’t mind spending a little more for pod system and is set to rival the Orion DNA Go.

It was only a matter of time before we saw the YiHi SX290 chipset try and battle it out against the DNA Go in pod systems.

SXmini have taken some bold choices here. They have included a small display, and are using ceramic coils, two things the DNA Go does not offer. The ceramic coils will offer better battery efficiency, which is good because the one really disappointing factor about the SXmini Mi Class Kit is it only has a 400mAh battery.

That’s less than half the size of the Lost Vape pod systems, and the device looks to be a lot larger. However, I guess we will have to wait and see just how efficient the new board and good those ceramic coils are.

There’s no information on how much replacement pods are going to cost. This is one thing that let the Orion down, the pods are expensive, and the QC wasn’t great to start with.

Some may really like the design of the device, and it’s certainly different and high-end for a pod system. Personally, I prefer the compact and retro styling of the Orion.

It doesn’t seem like you can adjust any settings, and there are no details on whether the firmware is upgradeable like the DNA GO.

Current pre-order pricing is actually lower than we expected and pits the SXmini Mi Class up against the Lost Vape Q rather than the DNA GO. So it seems like they may have taken a calculated decision with features to take a share of the market.

Ultimately it’s going to come down to performance as always, and we’ll keep you posted when we get out hands on one.
