Design & Build Quality
VAPORESSO has done an exceptional job with the design of both ARMOUR devices. While they share similar styling, each has its own distinct character.
The ARMOUR G has a sleek, compact frame measuring 113mm tall, 39mm wide, and 28mm thick. While the GS is slightly taller at 126mm to accommodate the 18650 battery.
Even though both devices feel substantial for a pod vape, I like that they are well-balanced in hand.
They both have a combination of metal frames and leather panels.
The G has two separate leather sections divided by a metal strip, while the GS features a full wrap-around leather design. The leather texture provides excellent grip and gives both devices a premium feel.

On the front, you’ll find a vibrant 0.96″ TFT display screen that’s crisp and easy to read. Above it sits a burnt-orange fire button that’s perfectly positioned for thumb or finger firing.
Below the screen are the adjustment buttons and a unique slider lock switch – a really nice touch that makes locking the device quick and intuitive.
The adjustable airflow control sits on top of the pod and matches the burnt-orange accent of the fire button. It’s precisely machined and super smooth to turn and adjust.
There are also two LED light strips that run down the sides of both devices, illuminating when the device is activated. This gives a nice modern futuristic feel.
As you’d expect, both ARMOUR devices are available in a range of colors: Black, Brown, Silver, Blue, Green, and Pink, with the G having an additional Red option.
I received the Blue GS and Red G for testing. The blue has a light, almost metallic silver shade that contrasts beautifully with more vibrant leather blue panels. While the Red is sharp and deep and pairs perfectly with the black leather wrap.

They are both really nice shades of colors, better than the majority of other Blues or Reds I’ve seen in the past. I also like the look of the Brown variant they have, which has an almost Bronze finish to it.
It’s also worth noting that the build quality is outstanding on both devices.
There’s no button rattle, the pods connect firmly with strong magnets, and all the components feel precisely engineered. The battery door on the GS is particularly well-designed – it’s a hinged bottom door that’s secure with no play or wobble.
My only minor gripe would be that the front panel, while attractive, does show fingerprints quite easily. But that’s a small price to pay for the premium aesthetic these devices achieve.
Features
The ARMOUR G and GS come packed with a comprehensive set of features you’d expect from VAPORESSO’s high-end devices.
Both devices utilize VAPORESSO’s AXON chipset, which offers adjustable wattage from 5-80W (in 1W increments).
The wattage is adjusted using the + and – buttons below the display, and there’s a convenient wattage lock function to prevent accidental changes.
One standout feature is the slider lock switch. Unlike traditional button combinations, you can simply slide the switch to lock or unlock the device. We’ve seen this before from Vaporesso. It’s an intuitive design that makes the device much more pocket-friendly.
The 0.96″ TFT display is bright and information-rich. It shows battery percentage, current wattage, resistance, puff counter, and mode selection.
You can customize the display with three different themes (Racecar, Rim, and General), each offering unique animations and styling.
I’m not so keen on the themes and what they represent. Why a Racecar?
But I’ve always loved Vaporesso’s screens for being vibrant and clear with the information. It’s no different here. Also, you can turn off the themes if you prefer a simpler interface.
Accessing the menu is straightforward – three clicks of the fire button takes you to the main menu where you can select between different modes:
- Pulse Mode: Delivers power in quick bursts to enhance flavor and vapor production
- Eco Mode: Optimizes battery life through power curve adjustments
- Smart Mode: Automatically detects coil resistance and sets recommended wattage
Smart Mode is particularly useful when switching between different resistance coils. It automatically adjusts the wattage to the recommended range for your installed coil, helping prevent accidental coil burns while still allowing manual adjustments if desired.
The devices also feature dual LED strips along the sides that illuminate when firing. The color indicates your battery level:
- Green: 60-100%
- Blue: 20-60%
- Red: Below 20%
The airflow control is precisely engineered with three parallel holes on each side. By rotating the top ring, you can fine-tune your draw from a tight MTL to a fully open DL vape. The adjustment is smooth and stays firmly in place once set.
Pods/Coils
Both ARMOUR devices use VAPORESSO’s G Series pods with a generous 5ml capacity (2ml for TPD regions). The pods connect magnetically to the device with a satisfying snap and show no wiggle once in place.
The pods feature a clever top-airflow design that significantly reduces leaking – something I really appreciate. Even after leaving a pod unused for several days, I experienced no leakage issues.
The fill port is located on the side of the pod and is sealed with a rubber plug. It’s generously sized and can accommodate most e-liquid bottle nozzles without making a mess.
While the pods have a slight tint to them, you can still see your juice level fairly easily. However, in low-light conditions, it can be a bit challenging.
The pods also feature a removable 510 drip tip – the GS comes with a wider bore tip for DL vaping, while the G includes a narrower one better suited for MTL vaping.

The ARMOUR series is compatible with VAPORESSO’s entire GTX coil range. Here’s what comes in each kit:
ARMOUR G:
- GTX 0.4Ω mesh coil (26-32W)
- GTX 0.6Ω mesh coil (20-26W)
ARMOUR GS:
- GTX 0.15Ω mesh coil (60-75W)
- GTX 0.3Ω mesh coil (45-60W)
Additional compatible coils include:
- GTX 0.8Ω (12-16W) – Great for MTL
- GTX 1.2Ω (8-12W) – Pure MTL
- GTX 0.2Ω (45-60W) – DL vaping
The coils use VAPORESSO’s COREX heating technology and are incredibly easy to install and remove. They push in from the bottom of the pod and have enough protrusion to remove without tools, though using a small tool can make it easier.
During my testing, coil longevity was impressive. The 0.6Ω coil lasted over a week of heavy use before showing any flavor drop-off. The lower resistance coils (0.15Ω and 0.3Ω) naturally had shorter lifespans due to higher power usage, but still managed 4-5 days of solid performance.
One thing I particularly appreciate about this system is its versatility. Whether you prefer MTL, RDL, or DL vaping, there’s a coil option available. The fact that both devices can use any GTX coil means you’re not locked into a specific vaping style based on which device you choose.
Performance
So, how do the ARMOUR G and GS perform? Let me break down my experience with both devices.
I started testing the ARMOUR G with both 50/50 and 70/30 VG/PG e-liquids. With the included 0.6Ω coil, I found the sweet spot around 24W for a satisfying MTL vape. The flavor was clean and crisp, and the adjustable airflow allowed me to dial in my preferred draw.
However, like many pod systems trying to do both, the MTL isn’t quite as tight as I’d prefer, even with the airflow fully closed. So, those that like a super tight MTL…these are not the devices for you.
The 0.4Ω coil really shines for restricted-DL vaping at around 30W. The flavor is punchy and vibrant, and vapor production is impressive for a pod system. I particularly enjoyed this coil with fruity e-liquids, as it enhanced the subtle flavor notes.

Moving to the ARMOUR GS, I tested both included mesh coils extensively. The 0.15Ω coil at 70W delivers exceptional flavor and vapor production. It handles high VG juices beautifully with no wicking issues. The 0.3Ω coil also performs admirably at 50W, offering a slightly cooler vape but maintaining excellent flavor reproduction.
One thing that impressed me across all coils was the consistency. There was no spitting, popping, or gurgling – just smooth, reliable performance. The top airflow design also means zero leaking, which is a huge plus.
The Pulse Mode does make a noticeable difference to flavor intensity, particularly with the lower resistance coils. However, I found myself using Eco Mode more often with the higher resistance coils to extend battery life.
Battery Life & Charging
The ARMOUR G’s built-in 3000mAh battery delivers impressive longevity. With the 0.6Ω coil at 24W, I easily got through a full day and a half of heavy vaping. Even with the 0.4Ω coil at higher wattages, I still managed a full day’s use. The LED battery indicators are helpful, though I prefer checking the exact percentage on the screen.
The ARMOUR GS, using a Samsung 25R 18650 battery (2500mAh), gave me about 8-9 hours of heavy use with the 0.15Ω coil at 70W. This improved to around 12-14 hours with the 0.3Ω coil at 50W.
Both devices feature 2A fast charging via USB-C. The ARMOUR G charges from empty to full in about 80 minutes, while the GS charges an 18650 battery in approximately 70 minutes. Pass-through charging is supported, though the devices can get a bit warm during this process.
As always, I’d recommend charging your 18650 battery in a separate charger and not in the device.

Verdict
The ARMOUR G and GS are impressive additions to VAPORESSO’s pod mod lineup.
Both devices deliver exceptional build quality, are feature-rich, and most importantly, outstanding flavor across their respective coil ranges.
While the ARMOUR G shines as a compact all-day device (with its built-in battery and MTL/RDL capabilities). It’s not quite perfect for strict mouth-to-lung vapers who want a tight draw. However, for restricted-DL vaping, it’s a fantastic option.
The GS, with its replaceable battery and high-power coil options, is awesome for DL vapers. Especially those who don’t mind a larger device and want battery flexibility.
The pods’ top airflow design is great. It’s easy to adjust and eliminates the leaking issues that plague other pod systems.
If you’re in the market for a versatile pod mod that can handle anything from MTL (loose) to full DL vaping, both ARMOUR devices are solid choices – just pick based on whether you prefer internal or external batteries.
