The first thing that hits you when you pick this up is the weight. At 256g with the tank, it’s got proper heft to it. This isn’t some delicate vape mod; it feels like it could survive being thrown off a building, which apparently it can thanks to that MIL-STD-810H rating.

The design is unmistakably “armoured” – Vaporesso has gone full tactical with the styling, and honestly, it works brilliantly. The mod itself has this industrial, cage-like frame design that gives the whole device a purpose-built aesthetic.

The leather-textured panels on the sides feel fantastic under your fingers and provide excellent grip even when your hands are wet or cold. I’ve been testing the Emerald Green version, and that bright orange “ARMOUR” fire button/badge really pops against the black-and-green colorway.

Now, here’s where I need to be honest about a potential weak point – that gorgeous bubble glass tank. While the mod itself could probably survive a nuclear blast, that 6ml glass section is the Achilles’ heel of this setup. Vaporesso knows this too, which is why they’ve included a silicone tank protector in the kit. I’d strongly recommend keeping it fitted unless you’re feeling particularly brave or have spare glass handy. That said, you do get a smaller capacity straight glass in the kit.

What impressed me most is how they’ve managed the ergonomics despite the rugged styling. The rounded side fits naturally in your palm, and despite being quite wide at 37.6mm, it never feels awkward to hold.

The fire button is perfectly positioned and has this satisfying, tactile click that screams quality. Below it, you’ve got your adjustment buttons and the display.

The 0.96-inch color display is crisp and bright, showing all your essential info at a glance. The interface is clean and uncluttered, and I’ve found it perfectly visible even in direct sunlight – no squinting required.

The USB-C port is tucked behind a robust silicone flap that seals tight – another reminder that this device takes its IP68/IP69K ratings seriously.

On the side of the device is that brilliant physical lock slider – honestly, every mod should have one of these instead of fiddly button combinations.

Build quality is absolutely top-notch. There’s zero flex anywhere on the device, and every component feels precision-engineered. I mainly used the Armour Ultra in Smart Mode, which automatically detects coil resistance and recommends safe wattage ranges, perfect for beginners or new coils.

You can still manually adjust 5-100W, but the smart recommendations are usually spot-on.

Battery management shows accurate readings throughout the day, and fast USB-C charging (up to 3A) means minimal downtime.

iTank T Tank & Coils

The iTank T has become one of my favorite sub-ohm tanks in recent memory. The 6ml capacity hits that sweet spot – enough juice to last most of the day without making the device unwieldy.

The bubble glass design looks great and maximizes capacity, though you’ll want to keep that silicone protector fitted unless you enjoy living dangerously.

Filling is an absolute dream. The top-fill sliding cap mechanism is secure and dead simple – just slide to reveal a generous fill port that handles even clumsy bottle tips without spillage. The self-sealing silicone plug works perfectly, and I’ve had zero leaking issues.

The airflow system is where the iTank T really shines. The top airflow design with rotating cuff gives genuine control over your draw. Fully open delivers smooth, unrestricted DTL hits with zero whistling. The adjustment ring has just the right resistance – stays put in your pocket but adjusts easily when needed.

The GTi coils are where the magic happens. The kit includes 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω dual mesh coils with wider airflow channels that complement the tank’s top airflow perfectly.

The 0.2Ω coil at 65W in Boost Mode delivers outstanding flavor and massive clouds. The dual mesh heats evenly and wicks brilliantly – I’m over 50ml through my first coil with flavor still clean as day one.

The 0.4Ω coil offers a cooler, more manageable experience around 50W, perfect for all-day vaping. Both use simple push-fit installation – just push until it clicks.

Coil compatibility extends to the full GTi range (0.15Ω to 0.5Ω), giving flexibility for different vaping styles.

Performance

This is where the Armour Ultra really had to prove itself – and I’m happy to report it absolutely nails the performance side of things. It’s become my go-to DTL setup over the past few weeks.

Starting with the pre-installed 0.2Ω coil at 65W in Boost Mode – bloody brilliant. The first hit genuinely surprised me with how punchy it was. Massive clouds with flavor that makes you pause and appreciate what you’re vaping.

What really impressed me was the consistency. Even after chain vaping during long work sessions, performance never wavered. No dry hits, no flooding, no gradual flavor degradation – just reliable excellence hit after hit.

The AXON chipset also fires instantly every time with zero lag.

The 0.4Ω coil at around 50W offers a completely different but equally enjoyable experience. Cooler and more manageable for all-day use without sacrificing flavor quality. Perfect when you want to vape continuously without assaulting your throat.

Battery performance has been genuinely exceptional. That 5500mAh capacity delivers on the promise – two days of heavy use with the 0.2Ω coil in Boost Mode, and I was pushing three days with the 0.4Ω.

The 3A Fast USB-C charging gets you back up and running in about 1.5 hours, which is good for such a large capacity.

The different power modes make a real difference in daily use. Boost Mode for evening sessions when I want maximum impact, Pulse Mode as my daily driver for consistent performance, and Eco Mode genuinely extends battery life when running low.

This device just works reliably, every single time – no temperamental behavior or constant adjustments needed.

Yes, it’s heavy and takes up pocket space, but that’s the trade-off for getting multi-day battery life and durable construction.

If you’re someone who works outdoors, travels frequently, or just wants a reliable daily driver that won’t let you down, this device makes perfect sense. The flavor production is genuinely impressive, and that physical lock slider alone makes it worth considering.

The internal battery might put off some traditional mod users, but for most vapers, the convenience of not needing spare batteries and a separate charger outweighs the lack of swappability.

At around $60 for the full kit, it’s positioned perfectly between budget mods and premium devices.
