Product Description

The Vaporesso LUXE X2 is the latest addition to the ever-growing LUXE family of pod vapes.

It’s a simple device, without all the bells and whistles of a screen or adjustable power output.

There’s a large 2000mAh battery, an upgrade from its predecessor. Along with fully adjustable airflow, something the original Luxe X was sorely missing.

It’s a dual-activation device. Meaning it has both a physical button to fire and an auto-draw sensor.

The LUXE X2 comes with two all-new pods that have COREX 2.0 technology and an integrated coil design (non-replaceable coils).

You get a 0.8Ω pod for MTL vaping and a 0.6Ω pod for RDL vaping. Both pods have a large 5ml capacity.

But if you already own some older LUXE X pods, fear not. The X2 is backward compatible with all the pods in the LUXE X range.

The LUXE X2 is available in 8 colors: avocado green, light pink, wasp yellow, night black, ruby white, white silver, light purple, and navy blue.

Design & Build Quality

The LUXE X2 follows the same design language as the rest of the LUXE X line. It’s a combination of metal and plastic construction.

The extra plastic framework, compared to previous Luxe models, also makes it incredibly lightweight. Weighing just 80g.

In fact, I’m so surprised at how light it is every time I pick it up. To my hand, it weighs the same as the XROS 4 or Caliburn G3, despite being a larger device.

And I still can’t quite believe it has a 2000mAh capacity battery inside!

It’s also worth noting that the LUXE X2’s plastic feels relatively robust and not cheap. This is a good trade-off for the weight.

The curved edges make it super comfortable to hold. And the textured matte finish gives it an excellent grip.

The faux leather design on the front is also a nice touch.

There’s no screen on the LUXE 2. But you do have a panel on the front with a hidden LED that lights up a Vaporesso logo to show the battery status.

There’s also a fire button on the front of the device. The button has a firm click and is easy to find without looking, just like on the previous LUXE X.

But the new airflow control slider is the star of the show.

It’s a pronounced slider switch, that’s tight enough that it won’t easily move when you don’t want it to.

Unlike the original Luxe X, it allows you to fine-tune your draw. It has three-step airflow slots that get gradually smaller.

Overall, I really like what Vaporesso has done with the design and materials of the LUXE X2. Opting for lighter materials and a larger battery capacity, I think is a favorable move for a pod vape.

The LUXE X2, while being slightly larger than other pod vapes, still manages to be very pocket-friendly. And it still exudes that LUXE (or luxurious) class in its design and build quality.

The LUXE X2 keeps things simple on the features front, but there are still a few notable inclusions:

It has a large 2000mAh battery, which is a 25% increase from the original LUXE X. That’s quite the jump when you think about it.

The LUXE X2 can output a maximum of 40W.

But there’s no adjustable power. The output is determined by the resistance of the attached pod.

It features both button activation and auto-draw functionality. And the auto-draw is incredibly responsive, with no notable lag.

There’s an LED battery indicator light that shows battery status, with the following:

  • Green = 70-100%
  • Blue = 30-70%
  • Red = 0-30%

The LED lights are the same when the device is charging, but will switch off when it’s fully charged.

Speaking of charging the 2000mAh battery. Thankfully, the LUXE X2 has a 1.5A charge rate. It takes around 80 minutes to charge from dead to full.

It also supports passthrough. So you can vape while it’s charging.

The LUXE X2 has fully adjustable airflow thanks to a sliding airflow control on the side of the device. You can achieve anything from a tight MTL draw to a restricted DL draw.

Safety features are all present and correct. These include overtime, overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit, and overheating protection.

How to Use the LUXE X2

Using the Luxe X2 couldn’t be simpler:

  • Just click the button 5 times to turn it on and off.
  • Then, either inhale on the mouthpiece or press the button to vape.

That’s it, no complicated settings to mess with. Just fill it and vape.

Adjusting airflow

Adjusting the airflow on the Luxe X2 is a breeze. There’s a sliding airflow switch on the side of the device.

Slide it towards the top of the device for a tighter MTL draw. Slide it towards the bottom for a looser, restricted DL draw.

The Vaporesso Luxe X2 comes with two new LUXE X pods that utilize COREX 2.0 technology.

These pods have a built-in coil design, meaning the coil is not replaceable. When the coil is done, you replace the entire pod.

In the kit, you get:

  • 1 x 0.6Ω pod (best for RDL vaping)
  • 1 x 0.8Ω pod (best for MTL vaping)

Both pods hold an impressive 5ml of eliquid. If you’re in a TPD region, you’ll get 2ml capacity pods instead.

The pods are backward compatible with the entire LUXE X family of devices. And the LUXE X2 can use all the pods from the Luxe X line, both the built-in and replaceable coil versions.

To fill the pods, locate the rubber plug on the bottom of the pod. The fill port is large, making filling quick and mess-free.

In my time testing all of the LUXE X pods, I’ve never had one leak. Kudos to Vaporesso for a great pod design.

The new pods also feature a slimmer mouthpiece compared to the original LUXE X pods. I find them really comfortable, especially for MTL vaping.

While it’s a shame the new COREX pods don’t have replaceable coils or a top-fill system. Their performance more than makes up for it (more on that in the performance section).

And with backward compatibility and a large 5ml capacity. You’ve got plenty of options when it comes to pods for the LUXE X2.

The Vaporesso Luxe X2 is a stellar performer.

The new airflow adjustment is silky smooth, no matter how tight you have it set. From a tight MTL to a restricted lung hit, it’s perfect.

The auto-draw sensor is extremely responsive. It fires instantly with your inhale, no delays at all.

But it’s the new COREX pods and coils that really shine.

The 0.8Ω is great for MTL vaping. The flavor from it is outstanding, right from the first puff. No break-in time is needed here.

I’m sure Vaporesso has made improvements over previous generations here. Because I remember the 0.8Ω being good for flavor, but not this good!

It seems to really boost the sweetness of the juice and makes fruits pop with flavor.

I’ve been running a triple Mango juice in this pod. And I’m getting depth and sweetness unlike with the Xross 4 or Caliburn G3.

The juice is an MTL juice at 50/50 VG/PG. But the pods have also impressed me with their lifespan.

I’m currently at around 40ml, and the flavor is still going strong!

The 0.6Ω pod is a bit of a different story.

It needed a little breaking in time to get going. Around 20-30 puffs.

But when it got there, the flavor was fantastic and it was great for a restricted DL vape.

Vaporesso recommends a 60/50 VG/PG juice with this pod.

Unfortunately, I only had a 70VG available. This may be what led to the longer break in time.

And I’m almost certain it led to the shorter lifespan of the pod.

I only managed around 4 refills (20ml) before it started to verge on dry hits, and the flavor dropped.

So if you want to DL vape with the 0.6Ω – don’t go higher than a 60VG juice.

Battery life on the LUXE X2 is exceptional.

Vaporesso claims up to 4 days of vaping. Which I could see being possible.

But in reality, if you are a heavy vaper like me, you’ll easily get two days. Which is excellent for such a compact, lightweight pod.

But there’s a rather large caveat with that. And it’s my one major gripe with the LUXE X2.

Unfortunately, it is a direct output device.

This means you notice the performance drop off as the battery depletes. And it’s especially noticeable when you are below 50% (particularly with the 0.6Ω pod)

After a while of testing, when I saw the Blue LED light (below 70%), I knew the drop-off was coming. So, I would head to the charger for a quick top-up.

Most will be ok with the direct output, and might not even notice it. But I always want the best the device can give me!

It’s also worth noting it’s less noticeable with the 0.8Ω MTL pod.

  • Sleek design
  • Lightweight
  • Easy to use
  • Large 2000mAh battery
  • Superb flavor from new COREX pods
  • Large 5ml capacity pods
  • Fully adjustable airflow
  • Slim comfortable mouthpiece
  • No leaking at all
  • Backwards compatible with older LUXE X pods

  • Performance drops as battery depletes
  • No power adjustment
  • Firing button lock would have been nice

The Vaporesso Luxe X2 is proof that sometimes simple is better.

What it lacks in advanced features, it more than makes up for with its ease of use, exceptional performance, and flavorful COREX pods.

Yes, a button lock function would have been a welcome addition. And the lack of constant output is a little disappointing.

But if you’re looking for a pod vape that just works and don’t want to mess around with settings, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better option than the LUXE X2.

The backwards compatibility with older pods is a bonus for existing LUXE X users. But even if you’re new to the line, the new COREX pods alone make the X2 worth picking up.

It’s not revolutionary, but it is a refinement of an already solid system. And for that, the Vaporesso LUXE X2 gets two big thumbs up from me.
