Product Description
The VAPORESSO XROS 5 Nano is the latest addition to the fifth-generation XROS lineup, bringing a distinctly different form factor to the lineup. While the XROS 5 and 5 Mini stick to the traditional slim, pen-style design, the Nano opts for a compact square shape with a striking 1.09-inch circular touchscreen dominating the front face.
The standout specification here is the 1600mAh battery – the largest capacity in the XROS 5 range and only bettered by the XROS Pro 2. That’s paired with 2A fast charging, adjustable airflow, and three user-friendly power modes (Eco, Normal, and Power). The device offers extensive customization with 29 different display themes and animations, significantly more than you’ll find on most pod vapes.
Like its siblings, the XROS 5 Nano is compatible with the entire range of XROS Series pods, featuring the latest COREX 3.0 technology and resistance options from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω. The included pods are a 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω mesh option, both with 3ml capacity (2ml in TPD regions). It’s designed to handle both MTL and restricted DL vaping styles, with draw activation and adjustable airflow to suit different preferences.

DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY
Right, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – this thing is square like other Xros Nanos, but it’s not like other Nanos. When I pulled it out of the packaging, my first thought was “that’s a chunky little camera.” That large, circular, slightly raised screen genuinely gives off camera-lens vibes, at least until you fire it up.
The dimensions are 80mm tall to the top of the pod, 55mm wide, and 22mm thick. It’s compact but has some proper heft at 86g. That weight comes from predominantly metal construction – feels like aluminum or zinc alloy – which gives it a reassuringly solid feel. None of that cheap plastic rubbish.
I received two Nanos for review. The first is the Blue Leatherette version, featuring blue leatherette panels with gold metal sections. It’s quite striking, and the leatherette is quite plush and doesn’t show fingerprints, which is always a massive plus.

The second variant I have is the Color Burst, which is a vibrant splatter of color on matte white plastic. It also has a matte silver frame. It’s fun, it’s different, and I really like it.
There are eight color options in total: Damascus Silver, Yellow Satin, Orange Leatherette, Color Burst, Damascus Pink, Black Satin, Blue Leatherette, and Nacre.
That 1.09-inch circular display absolutely dominates the front face. It’s a proper circular screen too, not just a square panel masked by a black circle, and it’s a really nice display.
As per usual, the XROS Series pod sits off-center at the top, held in place by strong magnets, and on the other side of the device is a lanyard loop.
One edge houses the airflow slider with excellent resistance, and there’s the designated MTL airhole when it’s shut off (just like the other Xros 5’s). The opposite edge has the power button and USB Type-C charging port.
I’m a big fan of side-mounted USB ports because you can stand the device upright while charging. However, here’s my first proper gripe: because the vape is so compact and square, when you grip it in your fist, it’s very easy to block the airflow inlet with your palm or fingers accidentally. Not a dealbreaker, but occasionally annoying.
Overall, the Xros 5 Nano’s build quality is top-notch, with no creaks or rattles. It has the distinctive Nano style, just more modern and polished, with a gigantic display.
FEATURES
The Xros 5 Nano has the feature set you’d expect from a compact pod device, and then a little bit more.
First, the gorgeous 1.09-inch circular touchscreen is a proper touchscreen – genuinely responsive, crisp, and bright. I’ve tested plenty of vapes with laggy, unresponsive touchscreens, so I was pleasantly surprised by how well this one performs. Swiping between screens feels natural and intuitive, and the on-screen buttons are well-spaced. The brightness is excellent too – no trouble reading it outdoors in bright sunlight.
Here’s where things get bonkers: the XROS 5 Nano offers 29 different display themes.

You can choose from minimalist designs to elaborate animated themes, most with their own draw animation. It’s not my thing, but it’s good to see Vaporesso didn’t just bundle it with a couple of basic themes like some other companies do; the level of customization is genuinely impressive…there’s even a detailed vaping stats page.
The touchscreen interface is straightforward. You’ve got your main screen showing battery percentage (not just bars), current power mode, pod resistance, and a puff counter. A quick swipe up brings up settings where you can adjust everything from display themes to power modes.
You can also swipe to the left to quickly adjust power. However, rather than granular wattage adjustment, you choose from three preset modes: Eco, Normal, and Power.
- Power mode unleashes the full potential of your pod.
- Eco mode extends battery life while still delivering decent performance.
- Normal mode hits that sweet spot for all-day vaping.

I would have preferred more precise wattage control, but the three modes are well-calibrated.
The airflow slider offers a genuinely useful range from tight MTL to fully open for restricted DL, with satisfying resistance. As I mentioned, the positioning makes it easy to block the airflow with your hand accidentally, but the slider itself works brilliantly.
Battery life is where the XROS 5 Nano really shines. During my two weeks testing with the 0.8Ω pod in Normal mode, I consistently got well over two days between charges with fairly heavy vaping. With the 0.6Ω pod in Power mode, it still lasted into the second day. Using the 1.2Ω pod in Eco mode, you could easily stretch to three days or more.

Charging via 2A fast charging takes around 45 minutes from dead to fully charged. The screen displays the battery percentage and a countdown timer showing exactly how long until fully charged. The battery readout is very accurate – no sudden drops from 20% to 3% between puffs.
The draw activation works flawlessly, perfectly calibrated so it fires instantly without being too touchy. I tested it across all airflow settings, and it triggered reliably every single time. All the expected safety features are present: short-circuit protection, overcharge protection, low-voltage protection, and an 8-second cutoff.
Pods/Coils
The XROS 5 Nano comes with a 0.6Ω pod (pre-installed) and a 0.8Ω pod, though kits with different combinations are available. The full XROS Series pod range is compatible, offering resistances from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω. Pod capacity is either 2ml or 3ml depending on your region.
These are the same XROS Series pods I tested with the XROS 5 and 5 Mini, and they’re genuinely excellent. The pods sit above the device body so none of your e-liquid is hidden. They’re completely transparent – no tinted nonsense. They’re also proper top-fill pods with a self-sealing fill port that’s easy to access. I haven’t experienced any leaks during my two weeks of testing.
The real upgrade is the COREX 3.0 coil technology. VAPORESSO has redesigned the coil structure with a “Hive Mesh” design, improved chimney system, and nano-microfiber wicking. We’re talking 30-40% better flavor reproduction, smoother airflow, and significantly extended pod life compared to COREX 2.0.

As I mentioned in my Xros 5 review, I’ve tested an older COREX 2.0 pod alongside the COREX 3.0 versions, and while both delivered great flavor, the 3.0 is noticeably better across the board. The newer coils highlight individual elements of my e-liquids in a really pleasant way.
The longevity is genuinely impressive. The 0.8Ω pod has seen over two weeks of heavy testing – easily 25-30ml of various e-liquids – with no flavor degradation or burnt notes. I’ve run everything from 50/50 nic salts to 70/30 freebase through both pods, and the wicking keeps up beautifully.
The backward compatibility is consumer-friendly. Every XROS pod ever made works perfectly in the XROS 5 Nano. That said, I’d strongly recommend grabbing COREX 3.0 pods when you can – the difference in flavor quality is substantial.
Performance
After two weeks testing the XROS 5 Nano as my daily driver, I can confidently say it delivers the same excellent performance as the XROS 5 and 5 Mini. The COREX 3.0 pods consistently produce outstanding flavor and vapor.
The XROS 5 Nano is genuinely versatile. Close the airflow with the 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω pod, and you get a beautifully tight MTL draw perfect for nic salts. Open it fully with the 0.6Ω or 0.4Ω pod in Power mode, and you get a decent restricted DL experience.
All pods handle both nic salt and freebase liquids brilliantly. I’ve tested both types across different strengths and PG/VG ratios, and the device handled every combination perfectly. The 0.6Ω pod in Power mode has become my sweet spot for restricted DL with freebase liquids. The flavor production is genuinely exceptional.

The three power modes work brilliantly. Eco mode still delivers solid flavor and vapor while significantly extending battery life. Normal mode hits that perfect daily-driver balance, while Power mode unleashes the full potential of your pod. Both included pods are still performing perfectly after over two weeks of heavy use with no flavor degradation.
Where the XROS 5 Nano really distinguishes itself is that massive 1600mAh battery. Using the 0.8Ω pod in Normal mode, I consistently got well over two days between charges with fairly heavy vaping. Even with the 0.6Ω pod in Power mode, I was still managing two full days. That 2A fast charging means forty-five minutes from dead to full.

The draw activation works flawlessly – sensitive enough to fire instantly without being too touchy. The touchscreen interface genuinely enhances the user experience. While I settled on the basic Bold theme, the level of customization available is genuinely impressive.
The only real performance issue was the airflow blocking problem. This isn’t a problem if you hold it differently, but it was occasionally frustrating.
Overall, the performance is excellent. The XROS 5 Nano delivers the same outstanding flavor as the XROS 5 and 5 Mini, but packages it in a more compact form with an even bigger battery and that striking touchscreen interface.

Verdict
The XROS 5 Nano is another solid entry in VAPORESSO’s excellent fifth-generation XROS lineup. It delivers the same outstanding performance as the XROS 5 and 5 Mini but packages it in a distinctly different form factor with some genuinely impressive features.
That 1600mAh battery is the real standout here – multi-day battery life in a device this compact is no small achievement, and the fast charging means you’re never stuck waiting around for long.
The touchscreen works brilliantly too, which isn’t always the case with vape displays. Whether you’ll actually use all 29 display themes is debatable, but the level of customization on offer is genuinely impressive.
The COREX 3.0 pods remain exceptional. The flavor production, longevity, and reliability are all top-notch, and I can’t see how VAPORESSO could improve on them.
The square form factor won’t be for everyone, and that airflow-blocking issue is a legitimate annoyance if you grip devices the way I do. But these are relatively minor gripes in what is otherwise an excellent device. The build quality is top-notch, the features are well-implemented, and the overall vaping experience is outstanding, whether you’re an MTL vaper or prefer restricted DL.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. If you’re after a compact, feature-rich pod vape with exceptional battery life and outstanding flavor, the XROS 5 Nano delivers on all fronts.
I slightly prefer the vape pen form factor of the Xros 5 and Xros Pro 2, but when it comes to performance, I’d be more than happy to switch one of them out for the Nano 5 as my daily driver. Highly recommended.
