What immediately stands out are the upgrades addressing the original Pro’s main limitations. That 1200mAh battery? Now a hefty 2000mAh. The small 0.42-inch screen? Upgraded to a brilliant 0.96-inch TFT display. And crucially, it’s one of the first XROS devices to feature the new COREX 3.0 pod technology alongside the XROS 5 – pods I’ve already tested extensively and bloody love.

At its heart, the Pro 2 delivers adjustable wattage from 5-30W, proper airflow control, and a premium magnesium alloy build. After two weeks as my daily driver, it’s clear Vaporesso has created what might be the most complete pod vape in their entire range – perfect for vapers who want flexibility without the faff of a full mod setup.

Design & Build Quality

I’m immediately struck by how much more premium the Pro 2 feels compared to its predecessor. Vaporesso has gone all-in on quality materials here, swapping out the zinc alloy frame of the original Pro for aircraft-grade magnesium alloy.

The result? A device that’s somehow both lighter and substantially more robust. At just 65g, it’s noticeably lighter than the original Pro’s 86g, yet it feels every bit as solid in hand.

The form factor remains faithful to the XROS design language – that tall, slim profile that’s become synonymous with the range. At 125.6mm tall with the pod inserted, it’s slightly taller than the original Pro but maintains that same pocket-friendly width at 26mm.

The front face features hardened plastic where the button and screen live, while the magnesium alloy dominates the rest of the chassis. It’s a smart material choice that delivers genuine premium feel without the weight penalty.

I’ve been testing both the Gem Green and Glittering Gold variants, and honestly, the finish quality is exceptional. The Gem Green (which is more of a teal color) has this gorgeous, deep metallic sheen that catches the light beautifully, while the Gold maintains that sleek, understated elegance. Vaporesso has kept the branding refreshingly subtle – just a small engraved logo on the back and minimal text elsewhere. No gaudy logos screaming for attention here.

The ergonomics are spot-on. Those convex panels and rounded edges make the Pro 2 comfortable to hold for extended periods, and there’s enough texture to the finish that it doesn’t feel slippery. The fire button sits exactly where your thumb naturally rests, with a satisfying tactile click that’s neither mushy nor overly stiff. It’s the kind of button you can operate confidently without looking.

On the back, you’ll find the adjustable airflow slider – a simple but effective design with one large and one small airflow hole. It moves smoothly through its range without feeling loose or catching.

The opposite face houses that stunning 0.96-inch TFT display, which is over twice the size of the original Pro’s 0.42-inch OLED screen. The difference is immediately obvious – the TFT is brighter, crisper, and displays far more information at a glance.

My only minor gripe? The USB-C port is on the bottom, which means you can’t stand the device upright while charging. It’s a pet peeve of mine, but hardly a dealbreaker. The port itself is well-integrated and flush with the chassis, so it doesn’t create any awkward protrusions.

The pod connection uses strong magnets that hold firmly with minimal wiggle or play. I’ve been swapping between pods constantly during testing, and the connection remains solid every single time. The duck-bill mouthpiece is comfortable against your lips, and the whole pod assembly sits flush with the device body.

Overall build quality is outstanding. There are no creaks, no rattles, no gaps in the seams – just tight, precise assembly throughout. After two weeks of daily pocket carry and general abuse, the finish on my Gem Green unit still looks pristine. Features

The XROS Pro 2 is packed with features, and Vaporesso has clearly listened to feedback from the original Pro.

The standout upgrade is that gorgeous 0.96-inch TFT display – bright, crisp, and displaying battery percentage, wattage, puff count, and resistance clearly. Compared to the tiny 0.42-inch OLED on the original Pro, this is a massive leap forward.

The display offers six screen themes with animations. I’m not the target audience for animated themes, so I turned them off after the first day, but they’re well implemented if that’s your thing. Importantly, you can disable them to preserve battery life.

Operating the Pro 2 is straightforward.

• 5 clicks turns it on/off,
• 3 clicks accesses power adjustment
• 4 clicks enter the menu to lock the screen, switch off the animation, or clear the puff counter.

The wattage adjustment spans 5W to 30W. With the 0.4Ω pod, you get full incremental control in 0.5W steps – brilliant for fine-tuning.

However, with higher-resistance pods (0.6Ω and above), you’re limited to preset power profiles – Eco, Normal, and Power modes. Same limitation as the original Pro, and while it’s not a dealbreaker, full wattage control across all resistances would’ve been nice.

Super Pulse Mode is back and improved. It intelligently pulses power throughout your draw to maintain consistent vapor and flavor, even as the battery depletes. The Pro 2 delivers the same satisfying hit whether you’re at 100% or 10% battery – genuinely noticeable and brilliantly executed.

The Pro 2 can be fired via auto-draw (enabled by default) or manual button firing. Auto-draw works flawlessly – perfectly calibrated without being overly sensitive. I’ve carried this in my pocket for two weeks without a single accidental activation.

Battery tracking is excellent. The display shows a percentage and tells you how many minutes remain until full when charging – a small touch that I love on Vaporesso devices. There’s also Eco mode for extended battery life and a detailed puff history if you’re curious about your vaping habits.

The airflow slider offers a decent range, though the difference between fully open and fully closed isn’t as dramatic as some competitors. It’s adequate for adjusting between restricted MTL and open restricted DL, but if you’re after ultra-tight MTL or fully open DL, you might find it slightly limiting.

The 2A USB-C charging gets you from dead to full in about 50 minutes – spot-on for a 2000mAh battery and a valuable upgrade given the increased capacity over the original Pro.

Pods & Coils

This is where the XROS Pro 2 really flexes its muscles with VAPORESSO’s new COREX 3.0 technology. Having tested these pods extensively in the XROS 5, I had high expectations – and the Pro 2’s more powerful platform only amplifies what makes them so bloody good.

The Pro 2 comes with 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω pods, both with 3ml capacity (2ml TPD). That’s a smart pairing covering restricted DL and MTL vaping. However, I really do love the 0.8Ω pods for MTL, so it’s a shame they weren’t included.

The pods maintain that excellent XROS design – crystal clear construction so you can see your e-liquid level, and that brilliant top-fill system where you pop off the mouthpiece to reveal a generously sized fill port. No mess, just straightforward filling.

COREX 3.0 brings genuine improvements. The redesigned Hive Mesh coil structure, improved chimney, and nano-microfiber wicking deliver 30-40% better flavor, smoother airflow, and significantly extended pod life versus COREX 2.0. I know that sounds like marketing speak, but the real-world performance backs it up.

I’ve hammered both pods for two weeks, and the longevity is impressive. The 0.6Ω pod has seen over 25ml without burnt notes or flavor drop-off – exceptional performance that rivals considerably pricier pods. The 0.6Ω pod works well for MTL vaping, though you’re limited to preset power modes.

The 0.4Ω pod is where the Pro 2 truly shines. Paired with full adjustable wattage (my sweet spot is 25-27W), it delivers restricted DL vaping that’s absolutely on point. Flavor production is exceptional – complex fruit blends come through with remarkable clarity, even subtle bakery notes are clearly defined.

I’ve run everything from 50/50 nic salts to 70/30 freebase through both pods, and the wicking keeps up brilliantly. Even during aggressive chain-vaping sessions, I couldn’t get a dry hit. The nano-microfiber wicking handles high-VG liquids without complaint.

The backward compatibility is brilliant – every XROS pod ever made works in the Pro 2, from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω. Your old pods will work fine, though I’d strongly recommend grabbing COREX 3.0 pods when you can – the flavor improvement is substantial. If you’re still using an older XROS device, get these pods. You’ll feel like you’ve got an entirely new device.

Leak resistance has been flawless. As long as the mouthpiece is properly clicked back after filling, these pods are virtually leak-proof. The consistency throughout each pod’s life has been remarkable – still using the original 0.6Ω pod after three weeks, and the flavor is virtually identical to day one.

Performance

After two weeks hammering the XROS Pro 2 as my daily driver, I can confidently say this is the best-performing device in the entire XROS lineup. The combination of COREX 3.0 pods, improved battery, and refined power delivery creates a genuinely exceptional vaping experience.

The 0.4Ω pod at 25-27W has become my absolute go-to. The flavor production is outstanding – the kind of clarity that makes you pause mid-puff and think “bloody hell, that’s good.” Complex fruit blends reveal layers you didn’t know were there, dessert flavors come through rich and authentic. The COREX 3.0 technology delivers tangible improvements over previous generations.

The versatility is brilliant. Close the airflow with the 0.6Ω pod in Normal mode for a tight MTL draw perfect for 20mg nic salts – smooth and satisfying. Open it halfway for medium MTL, or fully open with the 0.4Ω pod at high wattage for restricted DL that rivals devices costing twice as much.

Super Pulse Mode works brilliantly. I tested throughout a full battery cycle and found virtually no drop-off in performance. That consistent hit whether at 100% or 10% battery is great.

Battery life has exceeded expectations. That 2000mAh cell is a game-changer. Using the 0.4Ω pod at 25W, I’m getting a day and a half of heavy use. With higher-resistance pods at lower wattages, two full days is easily achievable.

The auto-draw activation is spot-on – perfectly calibrated without being overly sensitive. Not one accidental activation in two weeks of pocket carry.

Airflow quality is smooth and turbulence-free, though the range between fully open and closed isn’t as dramatic as some competitors. It’s adequate for most users, but dedicated MTL vapers might want tighter, while RDL enthusiasts might crave more airflow.

I’ve pushed the Pro 2 hard – chain vaping, high-VG liquids, constant pod swapping – and the wicking kept up flawlessly. Not one dry hit. The COREX 3.0 wicking handles demanding use without complaint.

Charging is excellent. 2A USB-C gets you from dead to full in about 50 minutes, and a quick 10-minute top-up gives hours of vaping. The display showing remaining charge time is a brilliant touch.

Where the Pro 2 really shines is consistency. Every puff feels the same, every pod swap maintains quality, and after two weeks, performance hasn’t degraded one bit. That reliability separates good devices from great ones.

The limited airflow range and preset power modes for higher-resistance pods are minor niggles in an otherwise outstanding experience. After two weeks, it’s become my preferred device over even the XROS 5.

Verdict

After two weeks of daily use, the XROS Pro 2 has genuinely impressed me – this is the most complete device in the XROS lineup, full stop.

That 2000mAh battery addresses the original Pro’s biggest weakness, the TFT display is a massive usability upgrade, and the COREX 3.0 pods deliver flavor that rivals anything on the market.

The Pro 2 shines brightest with the 0.4Ω pod, where full wattage control lets you dial in your perfect vape. The flavor at 25-27W is exceptional. But it’s equally capable as an MTL device with higher-resistance pods, despite preset power modes.

Should you upgrade from the original XROS Pro? Maybe. The bigger battery, and better screen, are huge improvements. But you can still rock the COREX 3.0 pods, in the old Pro.

From the XROS 5? Trickier. The Pro 2 has better build quality and a larger battery, while the XROS 5 offers 3A charging. Both are excellent – choose based on whether you prefer premium materials or faster charging.

New to the XROS series? The Pro 2 should be top of your list. It’s versatile for both MTL and restricted DL, the COREX 3.0 pods are exceptional, and battery life means you’re not constantly charging. Yes, it’s pricier at around $40, but the quality justifies it.

The XROS Pro 2 delivers where it matters most – exceptional flavor, rock-solid reliability, and genuine versatility in a premium package. Vaporesso has knocked it out of the park. Highly recommended.
