Product Description
The VOOPOO ARGUS A is the latest addition to the ever-expanding ARGUS family of pod vapes. It’s a device that manages to pack a punch while keeping things relatively simple.
At its core, you’ll find a respectable 1100mAh battery, which is a solid capacity for a pod system of this size. The device supports adjustable wattage from 5-30W, giving you some flexibility in your vaping experience.
One of the standout features of the ARGUS A is its dual-zone display. You heard that right – not one, but two color screens adorn the front of this device. It’s a unique touch that sets it apart from the sea of single-screen pods flooding the market.
The ARGUS A is compatible with VOOPOO’s entire line of ARGUS pods, which is great news if you’re already invested in the ARGUS ecosystem.
In the box, you’ll find two of their latest “Top Fill” pods: a 0.7Ω pod for MTL vaping and a 0.4Ω pod for those who prefer a restricted DL draw. Both pods boast a generous 3ml capacity (2ml for TPD regions).
It also features adjustable airflow via a side slider. This allows you to dial in anything from a tight MTL to a restricted DL draw.
The ARGUS A is available in eight colors: Storm Silver, Pearl White, Crystal Pink, Azure Blue, Racing Green, Phantom Red, Phantom Purple, and Phantom Black.

Design & Build Quality
The VOOPOO ARGUS A is a bit of a chunky monkey, but in a good way.
It’s got that short and stubby box mod look, only shrunk down to pod system proportions. Measuring in at 93mm x 44mm x 22mm, it’s not the slimmest device out there, but it’s still compact enough to slip into your pocket without much fuss.
VOOPOO has gone all out with the build quality here. The body is a mix of aluminum and zinc alloy, which adds to that solid but premium feel.
When you pick it up, you immediately notice the heft – it weighs in at 110g with an empty pod. It’s not exactly featherweight, but that extra mass gives it a premium feel that I quite like.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the dual-zone display. It’s like VOOPOO decided one screen wasn’t enough and said, “Let’s slap on two!”
You’ve got a crescent moon-shaped screen up top and a circular one below. It’s a unique look that definitely sets the ARGUS A apart from the crowd. Both screens are full color and crisp, making it easy to read your vaping stats at a glance.
On one side of the device, you’ll find the fire button, an honest-to-goodness ON/OFF switch (more devices need this!), and the USB-C charging port.
The other side houses the airflow adjustment slider. All the controls feel satisfyingly clicky and responsive. I’m particularly fond of the airflow slider – it’s smooth but has just enough resistance to stay put once you’ve set it.

The pod sits snugly in the top of the device, held in place by strong magnets. It’s tinted, which looks sleek but does make it a tad tricky to check your e-liquid level without holding it up to the light.
VOOPOO offers the ARGUS A in eight color options. We only had the Azure Blue for testing, so I can’t attest to everyone having the perfect finish. But the Blue and Silver blend is eye-catching while still being classy.
Personally, I like the look of the Racing Green and Pearl White versions. They look a bit more sleek.
Each one has the ARGUS logo etched into the body on the back. Another touch that gives it a classy, understated look.
Overall, the ARGUS A nails it in the design and build quality department. It’s got a bit more heft than your average pod system, but that translates to a device that feels built to last.
The dual screens might be a bit gimmicky, but they certainly make the ARGUS A stand out. It’s a device that looks and feels more premium than its price tag might suggest.
Features
The VOOPOO ARGUS A keeps things relatively simple on the feature front, but there are still some notable inclusions that set it apart from your run-of-the-mill pod system.
First up, let’s talk about that dual-zone display. It’s not just for show – the top screen displays your current mode, coil resistance, and a puff counter. There’s even a nifty little 5-bar indicator that lights up sequentially based on your draw length.
The bottom screen shows your battery life percentage and set wattage. It provides a lot of information at a glance, which I appreciate.
The ARGUS A offers three vaping modes:
- Power
- ECO
- SUPER.

Power mode is your standard adjustable wattage mode, letting you fine-tune your output from 5-30W.
ECO and SUPER are essentially preset modes – ECO for lower wattage vaping and battery conservation, SUPER for when you want a bit more oomph.
Navigating these features is pretty straightforward.
Five clicks of the fire button gets you into the menu, where you can switch modes, clear your puff counter, view your usage stats, or lock the device. It’s all very intuitive.
Speaking of locking, the ARGUS A has a physical ON/OFF slider switch. It’s a small touch, and one I wish more pods would include. No more accidental pocket firing or having to remember how many times to click to lock or unlock.

The device supports both button-activated and draw-activated firing, so you can vape whichever way suits you best. The draw activation is impressively responsive – no noticeable lag here.
Adjustable airflow is present and accounted for, thanks to a side-mounted slider. It allows you to dial in anything from a tight MTL to a restricted DL draw. The slider has just the right amount of resistance, so it stays put once you’ve found your sweet spot.
On the charging front, the ARGUS A boasts USB-C fast charging. VOOPOO claims it can go from empty to full in about 40 minutes, which is pretty zippy. There’s also passthrough vaping support, so you can puff away while it’s plugged in.
Lastly, there’s a usage record feature that tracks your total puffs, daily average puffs, average puff duration, and average wattage. It’s a neat addition if you’re into tracking your vaping habits.
Overall, while the ARGUS A isn’t overflowing with advanced features, what it does offer is well-implemented and genuinely useful.
Pods & Coils
The VOOPOO ARGUS A uses the same pod line as the rest of the ARGUS family, which is great news if you’re already invested in the ecosystem.
In the box, you get two of their latest “Top Fill” pods:
- 0.7Ω pod for MTL vaping
- 0.4Ω pod for a more restricted DL experience.
Both pods hold a generous 3ml of e-liquid (2ml for you TPD folks).
Now, let’s address the elephant in the room – these “Top Fill” pods aren’t exactly top-fill. The fill port is still on the side, but it sits above the device when the pod is installed.
It’s a bit of marketing sleight of hand, if you ask me. In theory, you can fill without removing the pod, but in practice, it’s a bit fiddly. I found it easier to just pop the pod out to refill.
The pods are slightly tinted, which looks sleek but does make it a tad tricky to check your juice levels. You’ll need to hold them up to the light to get a good view. It’s not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind.
Both pods are marketed as having VOOPOO’s iCOSM Code technology.
Which stands for Clean experience, Original freshness, Smooth airflow, and Multiple interpretations…Whatever all that means!

The main thing is they claim these coils can last up to 90ml of e-liquid without burning out, which is pretty impressive if true. I haven’t vaped quite that much through a single pod yet, but I can say the coil life seems far above average so far.
The 0.7Ω pod is your go-to for MTL vaping. It performs best between 10-15W and handles high-strength nic salts like a champ. Flavor production is surprisingly good for a pod system, with crisp, clean notes coming through.
The 0.4Ω pod is more suited for restricted DL vaping or a very loose MTL. It can handle up to 30W and really shines with lower-strength e-liquids or freebase nic. The flavor is a notch above the 0.7Ω pod, likely due to the increased power.
One thing I really appreciate about these pods is their versatility. With the airflow wide open, the 0.7Ω pod can do a respectable restricted DL vape. Close it down, and you’ve got a nice tight MTL draw. The 0.4Ω pod offers similar flexibility, just shifted more towards the DL end of the spectrum.
It’s worth noting that the ARGUS A is compatible with the entire ARGUS pod range. This includes the older 0.7Ω and 1.2Ω pods, as well as the PnP pod adapter that lets you use VOOPOO’s extensive range of PnP coils. That’s a lot of options to play with!
In terms of coil performance, I’ve been impressed. Flavor is on point, coil life seems solid, and I haven’t experienced any leaking issues. The pods click into place with a satisfying magnetic snap and stay put.
Overall, the pod and coil system of the ARGUS A is a strong point. Just don’t expect actual top-filling convenience.

Performance
Alright, let’s get down to brass tacks – how does the VOOPOO ARGUS A actually vape? Well, I’ve put this little box through its paces, and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty impressed.
Let’s start with the 0.7Ω pod. This is your MTL workhorse, and it performs admirably.
With the airflow about halfway closed, I got a satisfying, warm vape that really brought out the nuances in my favorite tropical fruit salt juice.
This pod manages to capture all the sharp citrus notes and the deeper succulent juices. It’s as good as the best MTL pods I’ve tested.
Cranking the airflow wide open on the 0.7Ω pod, you can actually get a decent restricted DL hit. It’s not going to satisfy cloud-chasers, but it’s a nice option to have if you’re in the mood for a looser draw.

Now, onto the 0.4Ω pod.
This is where the ARGUS A really flexes its muscles. With the airflow wide open and the wattage set to about 25W, you get a satisfying restricted DL vape.
The flavor is noticeably punchier than the 0.7Ω pod – everything just pops a bit more.
The airflow adjustment on the ARGUS A is a real strong point. The slider is smooth but has just enough resistance to stay where you set it. It allows for fine-tuning from a tight MTL to a restricted DL, and everywhere in between.
However, even fully open, it’s not going to give you that wide-open DL hit some vapers crave.
Now, let’s talk about those dual screens. They look cool, no doubt about it. But in practice, I found myself turning off the bottom screen more often than not. The constant flame animation when you vape is a bit much for my taste. It’s a cool party trick, but the novelty wears off quickly.
Battery life on the ARGUS A is solid, if not extraordinary. With the 0.7Ω pod at moderate wattage, I consistently got about a day and a half of heavy use before needing a recharge.
The 0.4Ω pod at higher wattages drains the battery faster, as you’d expect – I was reaching for the charger after about a day of use.

Speaking of charging, VOOPOO’s claim of a 40-minute full charge holds up. It’s quick enough that I didn’t mind the slightly shorter battery life with the 0.4Ω pod. Plus, the passthrough vaping feature means you’re never truly without your vape.
One quirk I noticed – the wattage adjustment can be a bit fiddly. You have to triple-click the fire button to enter wattage adjustment mode, then click to adjust. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s not as intuitive as a simple up/down button setup.
I’ve been using the ARGUS A for a few weeks now, and I’m happy to report no leaking issues. The coils are holding up well too – I’m on my tenth fill (30ml) with the 0.7Ω pod, and the flavor is still going strong.
Overall, the VOOPOO ARGUS A performs admirably. It’s not perfect – the dual screens feel a bit gimmicky, and the wattage adjustment could be smoother. But when it comes to the core function of delivering a satisfying vape with good flavor, it hits the mark.

Verdict
The VOOPOO ARGUS A is a solid entry and a refinement of an already successful line.
What it lacks in groundbreaking features, it makes up for with versatility and performance.
The dual-screen setup might be a bit gimmicky, but the core vaping experience is where this device really shines.
With decent battery life, adjustable airflow and two included pods, it caters well to both MTL and restricted DL vapers.
The impressive build quality gives the device a premium feel that belies its price point. Although it’s a bit chunkier than some competitors, but I quite like that extra heft.
Battery life is decent, if not exceptional, but the fast charging somewhat makes up for it.
The compatibility with the entire ARGUS pod range is a big plus, especially if you’re already invested in the VOOPOO ecosystem.
Is it perfect? No. The “Top Fill” pods aren’t as convenient as advertised, and the wattage adjustment could be smoother. But these are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things.
The ARGUS A is best suited for vapers who appreciate versatility and don’t mind a slightly larger pod system.
It’s equally at home delivering a tight MTL hit with high-strength nic salts as it is providing a flavorful restricted DL vape with freebase juices.
All in all, the VOOPOO ARGUS A gets a thumbs up from me. It’s a well-rounded device that delivers where it counts – in the actual vaping experience.
