Product Description
The VOOPOO Argus G3 Mini has arrived as the compact sibling to the impressive Argus G3 I reviewed last month, and it’s truly living up to its “mini” moniker. This ultra-portable pod system measures just 95.3mm x 25.8mm x 13.7mm and weighs a mere 41g, making it one of the lightest pod systems I’ve tested – you’ll barely notice it in your pocket.
Despite its diminutive size, the G3 Mini packs a surprisingly robust 1350mAh battery and utilizes the same cutting-edge Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods with iCOSM CODE 2.0 technology that impressed me on the full-sized G3. The device features a textured grip pattern on the sides, draw-activated firing (no buttons whatsoever), and a simple yet effective LED battery indicator.
The G3 Mini has a streamlined approach – there’s no screen, no adjustable wattage, and no buttons to fiddle with. It’s as simple as they come. Let’s see if this tiny powerhouse can match its bigger brother’s impressive performance.
Design & Build Quality
The moment I took the Argus G3 Mini out of the box, I was genuinely impressed by how compact and lightweight it feels. After testing its bigger brother, the G3, this feels like VOOPOO has performed some kind of miniaturization magic – it’s noticeably smaller in every dimension and weighs 20g less than the standard G3.
Made from aluminum alloy, the build quality is exactly what I’ve come to expect from VOOPOO – absolutely solid with zero rattles or weak points. The device sports a satin finish that feels premium in hand, and I received the Sky Blue variant, which is a very light blue, but striking nonetheless. There are nine color options available, all featuring solid colors with that same elegant satin finish.
What really distinguishes the G3 Mini visually is the ribbed texture running down each side of the device. This knurling not only adds a touch of style but provides excellent grip – a thoughtful design element that prevents this featherweight device from slipping out of your hand. It’s these little details that show VOOPOO has put real thought into the design rather than just shrinking down the standard G3.
The pod connection uses strong magnets that snap the pod firmly into place. While there’s the tiniest bit of wiggle if you deliberately try to move the pod, it never caused any connection issues during my testing. The device features a thin LED light strip across the middle that serves as your battery indicator – simple but effective.
On either side, you’ll find the non-adjustable airflow slots and the USB-C charging port. The pods themselves are fully exposed, which makes it incredibly easy to check your e-liquid level at a glance, though they are slightly tinted. Overall, the G3 Mini strikes an excellent balance between functional minimalism and eye-catching design in a package that feels far more premium than its price point would suggest.
Features
The Argus G3 Mini is a masterclass in simplicity – and I mean that as a genuine compliment. While its bigger brother, the G3, comes with a fancy TFT screen, adjustable wattage, and multiple themes, the G3 Mini strips everything back to the essentials. There are no buttons at all, which means no confusing menu systems to navigate or settings to fiddle with.
This pod system works exclusively through auto-draw activation, which I found to be impressively responsive in my testing. It fires up immediately with even a gentle draw, delivering a consistent hit every time. The device detects which pod you’re using and automatically adjusts the output accordingly – hitting a sweet spot of around 14-18W with the included 0.7Ω pod.
The G3 Mini is powered by VOOPOO’s GENE.AI chipset, which delivers the same stable performance I’ve come to expect from their devices. It features all the standard safety protections you’d want: 5-second cutoff, short-circuit protection, low battery protection, overcharge protection, over-temperature protection, and output over-current protection.

One feature I particularly appreciate is the cross-compatibility with the entire Argus pod family. This means you can use any of the existing Argus pods with this device.
The battery indicator is admittedly basic – a white LED when the battery is above 20% and red when below 20% – but in daily use, I found it sufficient. You can check the battery status at any time by simply removing and reinserting the pod, which triggers the LED indicator.
What the G3 Mini lacks in bells and whistles, it makes up for in user-friendliness. It’s the ultimate grab-and-go device that doesn’t require any technical knowledge to operate.
Pods/Coils
The G3 Mini comes with one 0.7Ω Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pod, which features the same groundbreaking iCOSM CODE 2.0 technology that I raved about in my Argus G3 review. This isn’t just marketing fluff – these pods genuinely offer some of the best flavor and longevity I’ve seen in a pod system.
The iCOSM CODE 2.0 technology incorporates three key innovations: the Liquid-Seal Shield (a copper sleeve that creates a dense e-liquid film with 99% internal coverage), Mega-Core (a layer of speed-control cotton for consistent saturation), and Golden Cotton (heat-resistant aerospace-grade cotton). VOOPOO claims these pods can handle up to 100ml of e-liquid while maintaining flavor integrity, and based on my experience with both the G3 and G3 Mini, I’m inclined to believe them.
What sets these V2 cartridges apart (identified by their distinctive blue/teal base) is their top-fill design, which allows you to refill without removing the pod from the device. There’s a silicone plug on the side that reveals a generously sized fill port. One minor frustration I encountered was the internal design – there’s a large metal cylinder inside (the Liquid-Seal Shield) that creates two chambers, making filling a bit fiddly. You’ll need to fill slowly and let the e-liquid work its way around to fully saturate the pod.
The G3 Mini is compatible with the entire family of Argus pods, giving you plenty of options beyond the included 0.7Ω pod:
- 0.4Ω V2 cartridge (18-30W)
- 0.7Ω V2 cartridge (14-18W)
- 1.0Ω V2 cartridge (10-14W)
- And all original V1 cartridges as well

I’ve been testing the included 0.7Ω pod extensively, putting over 30ml of various e-liquids through it, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance and longevity. The flavor remains consistently excellent with no signs of degradation even after a couple of weeks of heavy use. These pods also live up to their leak-resistant claims – I’ve had zero issues with leaking, just minimal condensation that’s to be expected with any pod system.
My only real criticism is that VOOPOO only includes a single pod in the kit. Given the price point and the fact that their competitors often include two coils, this feels like a missed opportunity. That said, the exceptional lifespan of these pods does somewhat mitigate this concern.
Performance
Having already experienced the exceptional flavor of the V2 pods with the Argus G3 last month, I wasn’t surprised by the performance of the G3 Mini – I was actually impressed that VOOPOO managed to maintain that same high-quality vape in such a tiny package. The flavor delivery is just as good as its bigger brother, confirming that the iCOSM CODE 2.0 technology isn’t just marketing hype.
The draw activation is among the most responsive I’ve tested recently, firing instantly without requiring an excessive pull. The airflow is fixed (unlike the adjustable airflow on the standard G3), sitting more in that loose MTL territory. I do miss the airflow slider from the G3, but VOOPOO has calibrated the fixed airflow reasonably well for most vapers. Those seeking a tighter MTL experience should pick up the 1.0Ω Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2, which provides a more satisfying throat hit with high-nicotine e-liquids.

The G3 Mini delivers a consistently smooth vape with impressive vapor production for its size. Just like with the G3, the flavor clarity is outstanding – it picks up subtle notes in complex e-liquids that some other pod systems miss entirely. I tested it with my usual rotation of juices, and it handled them all beautifully, matching the performance I got from the more expensive G3.
One aspect that particularly impressed me was the consistency of performance throughout the battery cycle. Unlike some pod systems that noticeably drop off as the battery depletes, the G3 Mini maintains a stable output until the battery is almost completely drained. I only noticed a slight decrease in performance when the LED indicator switched to red (below 20% battery).
The automatic wattage adjustment works as expected with the 0.7Ω pod, hitting what feels like a sweet spot around 16-18W when fully charged.
For vapers who prioritize simplicity without sacrificing performance, the G3 Mini delivers in spades.
Battery Life & Charging
The Argus G3 Mini houses a 1350mAh high-density battery, which is quite impressive for a device this compact – it’s actually 150mAh larger than the battery in the previous G2 Mini. In practical terms, I was consistently getting a full day of moderate vaping on a single charge with the 0.7Ω pod. Heavy vapers might need to recharge toward the end of the day, but for most users, this should provide ample power to get through a day away from a charger.
If you do need to recharge, I’m afraid it’s not great news here. Charging is only rated at 5V/1A (handled via USB-C). In my testing, it took about 1 hour and 45 minutes from completely empty to 100% – definitely on the slower side compared to competitors offering 1.5A or 2A charging.

Verdict
After spending two weeks with the Argus G3 Mini, I can confidently say it delivers exactly what a “mini” version should – the same exceptional flavor performance as the standard G3 in a significantly smaller, simpler package.
The G3 Mini and the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods are a winning combination. The flavor production is exceptional, the auto-draw is flawlessly responsive, and the build quality punches well above its weight class. By stripping away buttons, screens, and adjustable settings, VOOPOO has created the ultimate grab-and-go device that doesn’t compromise on what truly matters – the vaping experience itself.
Is it perfect? Not quite. The lack of adjustable airflow will disappoint some users, the charging time is on the slower side, and including only one pod in the kit feels a bit stingy. But these minor gripes don’t detract from what is otherwise an outstanding pod system.
For beginners seeking simplicity or experienced vapers wanting a reliable backup device, the G3 Mini is an easy recommendation. It’s earned a permanent place in my pocket alongside my more advanced setups, and that’s perhaps the highest praise I can give any pod system.
