Product Description
The VOOPOO DRAG 6 is the latest flagship addition to one of vaping’s most celebrated lineups, and it’s a serious piece of kit.
At its heart is VOOPOO’s all-new GENE TT 3.0 chipset — the most advanced chip the company has produced to date — paired with a substantial built-in 4400mAh dual-cell battery and a maximum power output of 220W. That’s a meaningful step up from the DRAG 5’s dual 18650 configuration, and the move to an integrated battery brings with it more stable power delivery across the entire charge cycle.
The DRAG 6 ships as a complete kit, bundled with the updated UForce-X Tank II and two PnP X coils right out of the box — a 0.15Ω coil for high-powered DTL vaping and a 0.3Ω coil for a more restrained, flavor-focused draw.
Three vaping modes are on offer: Smart mode, which automatically detects your coil and sets an appropriate wattage range; RBA mode, which hands full control over to you across the entire 5–220W output range; and TC-TRC mode for temperature control vaping with Ni200, Titanium, SS316 and SS430 wire.
One of the standout new features is the Precision Control Wheel, a knurled rotary dial positioned just beneath the tank that replaces traditional up/down adjustment buttons for wattage control. Combined with a bright 1.66-inch TFT display, three lock mode options, and a capacitive touch unlock system, the DRAG 6 is a feature-rich device designed with both usability and precision in mind.
It’s available in seven color options — Black, Silver, Blue, Brown, Red, Green and Metal Gray — so there’s something to suit most tastes.

Design & Build Quality
VOOPOO has always had a knack for building good-looking devices, and the DRAG 6 is no exception. Where the DRAG 5 leaned into the classic boxy mod aesthetic with its leather-wrapped sliding battery door, the DRAG 6 takes things in a slightly different direction — and in most ways, it’s a step forward.
The chassis is constructed from zinc alloy and feels absolutely rock solid in the hand — there’s no flex, no rattle, nothing that gives you cause for concern. The back panel on the Metal Gray version we tested features a denim blue woven textile that wraps around the sides of the device, split down the center by a darker, crosshatch-textured rubberized strip that runs the full length of the mod and carries the embossed DRAG logo.
It’s a distinctive two-tone look that photographs brilliantly and gives the device a premium, purposeful feel in the hand. A rubberized base plate adds a final practical touch, keeping the kit stable when set down on a flat surface. With the UForce-X Tank II installed, the kit measures in at 150mm x 51.4mm x 28.6mm, so this is a big, purposeful device — don’t expect it to disappear into a jeans pocket.
I was sent the Metal Gray version for review, and it’s a seriously good-looking device in person. The gunmetal chassis has a dark chrome frame and edging throughout — clean, unfussy, and consistently finished. There’s no accent trim on this colorway, which gives it a more understated, monochromatic look that I personally think suits it well. Some of the other colorways do feature contrasting accent trim, but the Metal Gray lets the denim blue textile panel do the talking, and it works. It’s one of those devices that looks even better in hand than it does in product shots.

On the front of the device is a bright, vivid 1.66-inch TFT color display — a noticeable upgrade on the 0.96-inch screen found on the DRAG 5. It shows everything you need at a glance: wattage, coil resistance, battery percentage, puff count, puff duration and operating mode. Three visual themes are available to customize the layout, and you can toggle a vaping animation on or off if you fancy a bit of flair. The display itself sits behind a plastic protective cover, which should help keep it in good condition over the long term. It’s clear enough to read comfortably in direct sunlight, which is always a good sign.
Sitting above the screen is the fire button, which doubles as a capacitive touch unlock sensor. Rather than the physical locking switch found on the DRAG 5 — which I was a big fan of, admittedly — the DRAG 6 gives you three digital lock options to choose from instead. Touch Lock lets you unlock the device with a light finger press and locks it when you put it down, which works well for pocket carry. Button Lock requires a double-tap to lock and unlock, while Maintain Unlocked keeps the device always active. It’s a different approach to the DRAG 5’s trusty physical switch, and a matter of personal preference as to which you prefer.

The most distinctive new design element on the DRAG 6, though, is the Precision Control Wheel. Positioned just beneath the tank on the top edge of the mod, this gold-toned, knurled rotary dial replaces the traditional +/- adjustment buttons for wattage control. It clicks satisfyingly as you rotate it through wattage increments, giving you both a tactile and audible confirmation of every adjustment. After a few hours with it, going back to button-based wattage control feels decidedly clunky by comparison. It’s a smart design decision that genuinely improves the day-to-day experience.
Standard 510 threading on the top of the device means you’re not locked into the UForce-X Tank II if you fancy experimenting with other tanks down the line. Charging is handled via a USB-C port tucked behind a rubber-hinged cover marked with a lightning bolt icon — it keeps pocket lint and debris out and should help preserve the port over the long haul. It’s worth noting that the DRAG 6 carries no IPX waterproof or dust-resistance rating, so while the covered port offers some practical protection, you’ll want to keep it away from any serious moisture.
The DRAG 6 is paired with the updated UForce-X Tank II, which brings some worthwhile improvements over the original — but we’ll cover all of that in detail in the Tank & Coils section below.
Overall, VOOPOO has done a fine job here. The DRAG 6 feels every bit as premium as the DRAG 5 did — possibly more so — and the design refinements like the control wheel and the larger display are meaningful upgrades rather than change for change’s sake. It’s a big kit, no question, but it’s a big kit that’s been thoughtfully designed from top to bottom.
Features
The DRAG 6 is powered by VOOPOO’s brand new GENE TT 3.0 chipset, the most capable chip the company has put into a device to date. Compared to the GENE TT 2.0 that drove the DRAG 5, VOOPOO claim the 3.0 offers faster response times, more consistent output under load, and enhanced safety features across the board. In everyday use it’s snappy and responsive — there’s no lag when you fire it, which is exactly what you want from a high-powered setup like this.

Vaping Modes
The DRAG 6 offers three vaping modes, covering pretty much everything you’re ever likely to need.
Smart mode reads the resistance of your installed coil and automatically sets a sensible wattage range to work within, helping to protect the coil and take the guesswork out of things if you’re less experienced. You still have the freedom to nudge the output up or down within that range using the control wheel, which is a nice balance between automation and control. It’s a great starting point, particularly for those stepping up to a full sub ohm kit for the first time.
RBA mode is where more experienced vapers will want to spend most of their time. It opens up the full 5–220W output range and hands complete control over to you, letting you dial in your power exactly where you want it. The DRAG 5 topped out at 177W, so the jump to 220W here is a meaningful one — though in all honesty, most vapers will never venture anywhere near those upper limits with the included coils. Still, it’s good to know the headroom is there if you want to pair the mod with a more demanding setup further down the line.
TC-TRC mode rounds things out for temperature control enthusiasts, supporting Ni200, Titanium, SS316 and SS430 wire types with a temperature range of 200–600°F (100–315°C). I didn’t have any compatible wire coils to hand during testing so I was unable to put this through its paces, but it’s good to see it included for those who do prefer the precision of TC vaping. It’s also worth noting that, unlike the DRAG 5, there’s no Eco mode here — though with a 4400mAh battery on board, you’re unlikely to find yourself hunting for power-saving options.

Battery
The decision to move from the DRAG 5’s dual removable 18650 cells to a built-in 4400mAh dual-cell battery is probably the biggest talking point of the DRAG 6, and it’s one that comes with genuine advantages. The two 2200mAh soft-pack cells inside are wired directly to the board rather than relying on spring-loaded contacts, which means power delivery stays more consistent as the charge drops — something you’ll notice more in real-world use than any spec sheet will tell you.
The obvious trade-off is that you can’t swap a flat battery for a fully charged one mid-session the way you could with the DRAG 5. Charging is via USB-C at 5V/3A, and given the size of the battery, you’re looking at a full charge taking somewhere in the region of 90 minutes from empty — so it’s worth topping up regularly rather than running it all the way down. Pass-through vaping is supported, meaning you can keep vaping while it charges, which softens the blow somewhat. VOOPOO do recommend using the supplied Type-C cable rather than any old cable you have lying around — something worth bearing in mind, as I found some of my other cables simply wouldn’t charge the device.
Safety Features
As you’d expect from a reputable manufacturer, the DRAG 6 comes loaded with six built-in safety protections: 8-second overtime protection, low battery protection, overheating protection, short-circuit protection, overcharge protection, and output over-current protection.
VOOPOO have a strong track record of supporting firmware upgrades across the Drag series via their website, and we’d expect the same to apply to the DRAG 6 as updates become available.
Tank & Coils
Paired with the DRAG 6 mod is the UForce-X Tank II, the updated version of the tank that shipped with the DRAG 5. It’s a familiar pairing for anyone who has used a recent DRAG kit, and that’s no bad thing — the original UForce-X was already a solid performer. The Tank II refines it further in a few key areas without reinventing the wheel.
Filling is handled via a top-fill system — simply give the top cap a quarter-turn to reveal the fill port, top up, lock it back into place and give the coil five minutes to saturate before you start vaping. It’s quick, clean and straightforward, and the top airflow design means you genuinely don’t need to worry about leaks. I had zero issues throughout testing, even leaving the kit lying on its side. Coil changes are equally fuss-free; unscrew the base, slide the old coil out, push the new one in, and you’re done.

The airflow system is where the Tank II makes its clearest improvement over its predecessor. VOOPOO have introduced what they call a ‘Golden Triangle’ airflow structure, which works to smooth and concentrate the draw for a more layered, flavor-rich vape. The rotary dial’s numbered positions make it easy to find your sweet spot and return to it reliably — wide open at position 3 you’ve got a big, airy direct lung draw, while dialing it back toward 1 or 2 pulls it into a satisfying restricted DTL hit.
The Coils
The UForce-X Tank II uses VOOPOO’s PnP X coil platform, which is one of the strongest coil ecosystems currently available. The range extends well beyond the two included in the kit — you can pick up 0.2Ω, 0.45Ω and 0.6Ω options separately — so there’s plenty of room to experiment once you’ve found your feet. VOOPOO carry over from the DRAG 5 the bold claim that each PnP X coil is capable of handling up to 100ml of e-liquid before performance begins to drop off. Having run both included coils extensively throughout testing, I can say that figure doesn’t feel far-fetched at all — these coils last exceptionally well.
0.3Ω PnP X Coil (Rated 32–40W)
This is the coil I reach for first every time a new DRAG kit lands on my desk, and it remains my personal favorite of the two. My sweet spot sits right around 35 to 40 watts, where it delivers a beautifully warm, flavor-packed restricted direct-to-lung draw with enough cloud production to be thoroughly satisfying without being antisocial in public. It handles a 70/30 VG/PG e-liquid without any wicking complaints, and if you’re a fan of dessert or complex fruit flavors, this coil really does them justice — it teases out layers of flavor that honestly give some of my rebuildable atomisers a run for their money. Longevity-wise, I consistently get a solid 10 days to two weeks out of a single coil before it needs swapping out, which is outstanding for a factory drop-in option.
0.15Ω PnP X Coil (Rated 60–80W)
If the 0.3Ω coil is the sensible daily driver, the 0.15Ω is there for when you want to properly let the DRAG 6 off the leash. Running it at 75 to 80 watts produces dense, intensely warm clouds with a flavor intensity that’s a step up again from the 0.3Ω — everything feels bigger and bolder. It wicks thick, high-VG juices quickly and effortlessly, and I had no dry hits provided I kept the coil properly primed and within its rated range.
One thing worth flagging: push the wattage beyond 100W and chain vape aggressively, and both the mod and the tank will warm up noticeably in your hand. The vapor itself gets pretty toasty on the inhale too. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, but if you want to keep the temperature comfortable at higher wattages, shorter draws and a fully open airflow are your friends. It’s simply the nature of running a high-powered sub ohm setup hard, and not unique to the DRAG 6.
Overall, the PnP X coil range continues to impress. They’re widely available, competitively priced, and consistently deliver excellent flavor and longevity. VOOPOO’s decision to continue with this platform for the UForce-X Tank II is a smart one, and it means existing DRAG 5 owners with a stash of PnP X coils already in the drawer will be right at home.
Performance
I’ll be upfront: these days I spend the majority of my time vaping on pod systems with nicotine salt e-liquid. But I’ve always got a soft spot for a proper sub ohm kit, and sitting down with the DRAG 6 for an extended testing period was a genuinely enjoyable reminder of why. This thing is an absolute pleasure to vape on.
I started out in Smart mode with the 0.3Ω coil installed, which the GENE TT 3.0 chip picked up instantly and set to an appropriate wattage range without any fuss. There’s no noticeable delay when you fire it — it’s immediate, which is always the first thing I check on a new mod. From there I switched across to RBA mode and settled in at around 37 watts, which is exactly where I’ve always found the 0.3Ω PnP X coil to be most at home. I’ll also say this: after a week of adjusting wattage with the Precision Control Wheel, going back to tapping +/- buttons felt immediately clunky. It’s one of those things you don’t realize you needed until you’ve had it.

Flavor
Flavor through the 0.3Ω coil at 37 watts is exceptional. I ran a strawberry custard through it first — a flavor I know inside out — and the UForce-X Tank II served up every layer of it cleanly and accurately. The warmth of the vape at this wattage is just right, not harsh, not cool, just that satisfying sweetness that a good sub ohm coil can deliver that pod systems genuinely struggle to match. I found myself reaching for the DRAG 6 more often than I expected to during testing, which is always the best kind of endorsement I can give a device.
Swapping across to the 0.15Ω coil and cranking things up to 75 watts is a different experience entirely — and an impressive one. Flavor intensity steps up another gear, clouds get considerably denser, and the draw takes on that satisfying weight that cloud chasers are after. It’s a proper lung-filling vape, and the UForce-X Tank II handles it without breaking a sweat. I tested it with a high-VG tropical fruit blend and it wicked quickly and consistently, with no dry hits and no drop-off in flavor over an extended session.

Airflow & Draw
The airflow on the UForce-X Tank II is smooth throughout its range. Fully open it’s airy and effortless — a big, unrestricted lung hit with cloud production that will fill a room impressively fast. I spent most of my time with it dialed back to around position 2, which gives a slightly tighter, more flavor-focused draw that I personally find more satisfying for longer sessions. The numbered dial makes it genuinely easy to find your preferred setting and return to it, rather than the usual faff of squinting at an unmarked airflow ring and trying to remember roughly where you had it last time.

Battery Life
Battery life is, frankly, brilliant. Running the 0.3Ω coil at 37 to 40 watts — which is my preferred setup — I comfortably got through multiple full days of regular vaping before the DRAG 6 needed plugging in. That’s the kind of battery life that genuinely eliminates the low-battery anxiety that plagues smaller devices, and it makes the DRAG 6 an exceptional option if you’re spending a full day out and about without easy access to a charger.
Push the wattage up toward 80 watts with the 0.15Ω coil and battery life takes a hit, as you’d expect — you’re unlikely to stretch it beyond a single day of heavy use at those levels. But even then it kept going through a lengthy cloud chasing session without complaint, and the output stayed consistent right through to a low battery level. There’s none of that gradual softening of the vape you get with some mods as the charge drops — what you set is what you get, from the first puff to the last.
All in all, the DRAG 6 performs exactly as a flagship sub ohm kit should. It’s powerful without being overwhelming, flavorsome across both included coils, consistent from a full charge right through to the end of the day, and genuinely enjoyable to use in a way that not every device manages to be. It’s reminded me why I fell in love with sub ohm vaping in the first place, and that’s about as high a compliment as I can pay it.

Verdict
VOOPOO had a tough act to follow with the DRAG 5, and the DRAG 6 rises to the challenge. The move to a built-in 4400mAh battery is the headline change, and it pays off handsomely — battery life is phenomenal, power delivery stays consistent from the first puff to the last, and the UForce-X Tank II continues to deliver some of the best flavor you’ll get from a factory sub ohm setup. The Precision Control Wheel, the larger display and the numbered airflow dial might sound like small additions on paper, but in everyday use they add up to a noticeably more refined and enjoyable device than its predecessor.
It’s worth being clear about who this kit is aimed at, though. If you want something slim and pocketable, or you prefer the flexibility of swappable 18650s, the DRAG 6 isn’t your device. But if you’re an intermediate to experienced sub ohm vaper who wants a powerful, reliable daily driver with outstanding flavor and battery stamina, it’s difficult to look past it.
The VOOPOO DRAG 6 is a top-tier sub ohm kit that improves on the DRAG 5 in every way that counts. Highly recommended.
