VOOPOO MAAT Tank | Preview

Middle adjustable airflow tank with no leaking.

3 min read

The MAAT tank is the latest sub-ohm tank from VOOPOO.

It comes in both a 4ml and 2ml (TPD capacity), with a press-to-fill system which slides open the top cap with a press of a small button. The TPD edition of VOOPOO Maat also features a child lock.

It’s unique features mainly come from the new MT Mesh coils. There is a 0.13ohm Single Mesh Coil(MT-M1), and a 0.2ohm Dual Mesh (MT-M2) included with the tank.

These coils feature a simple plug-and-play installation system, similar to what we’ve seen from SMOK and Aspire’s recent tanks.

However, the most interesting part is they have what VOOPOO calls a ‘semi-faded juice storage’ design. Which basically means that some juice is stored within the coil to help prevent burn-outs, and also leaking.

This is also made possible by the fact the coils allow the airflow to come in from the center.

The MAAT tank has an adjustable triple airflow intake design, where the air travels in and up from three sides of the tank and enters the coil in the middle section.

Hence the name of the tank standing for ‘Middle Adjustable Airflow Tank,’ and VOOPOO has even patented this design.

The VOOPOO MAAT tank is currently available in 3 colors – Black, Silver, and Rainbow.

There’s been quite a flurry of VOOPOO products released recently,

I truly hope this means they are putting a lot more focus on quality products than on marketing. As we’ve seen some inexplicable marketing mishaps from them recently that were undoubtedly damaging.

The best way to improve your brand’s reputation is by making quality products.

The MAAT does have all the attributes to be an excellent sub-ohm tank, and it’s good to see two Mesh coil options.

As for the patented ‘Middle Adjustable Airflow’ system, I’m not sure it was something that was necessarily needed and am a little dubious as to how it would improve flavor and vapor production over other mesh coiled tanks.

The idea of the coil having ‘juice storage’ within the coil itself, sounds good on paper to prevent any dry hits and to prolong coil life. But then again most new mesh coils have copious wicking ports and manage to keep up with high VG juice.

As always the proof is in the performance, so we’ll wait to get our hands on one and see just how good the MAAT tank stacks up against the competition.
