Wismec Luxotic MF BOX with Guillotine V2 Kit | Preview

The Wismec Luxotic MF Box mod kit is the mad new offering from Wismec.

The Luxotic line, in general, has been relatively innovative with the Semi-Regulated squonk box the Luxotic BF and the switchable Luxotic NC.

Now the Luxotic MF is even more out there with some interchangeable components and lots of ways to use the device.

The WISMEC Luxotic MF Kit with Guillotine V2 RDA consists of WISMEC Luxotic MF Box Mod and Guillotine V2 RDA. The Luxotic MF mod has two ways to vape. You can choose a squonk mod or a box mod.

In squonk mod mode, there is single 21700 battery and a plastic squonk bottle with 7ml e-juice capacity. Box mod mode, there are dual 18650 batteries which can fire up to 100W maximum output.

The mod also features optional circuit boards to choose from, which are a direct output board with indicator lights or a variable voltage board with a 0.91 inch OLED screen.

The Guillotine V2 RDA is made of stainless steel, has Guillotine style post clamps and features a BF system for squonking and dual coils for flavor. The Guillotine is either a top or bottom airflow RDA thanks to its reversible barrel.

The experienced DIY vaper. The MF Box is DIY, so you’ll have to be comfortable switching boards. The Guillotine is also a little fiddly for an RDA and probably not for beginners.

The Wismec MF should be known as the DIY. The chipset is the Avatar chip, and there are two different circuit boards which are interchangeable to give you either a Variable Voltage mode (with screen) or a direct output mode (without screen) – but its a DIY job.

The battery tray has two configurations, dual 18650’s for a 100w box mod or a single 21700 with a 7ml squonk bottle by its side for a squonk mod.

One of the positive terminals has a hole in the center to support the bottom feed, and there is an adaptor to cover it for dual 18650’s. There is also a magnetic trap door on the side panel, which pushes in to allow for squonking – the door can is removable, so you can see and squeeze the bottle like most squonkers.

Swapping boards seems to be a damn confusing design. Why give the user the ability to take your device apart and swap the circuit board out. Why Wismec?

Even more confusing is the fact that the Variable Voltage mode board can set it to ‘Bypass’ giving you the voltage remaining on the battery, simulating an unregulated mechanical mod and therefore negate the point of the other board – why not just use that and don’t bother with swapping the board. Why Wismec?

Keeping the board in ‘Bypass’ mode still allows you to see the remaining battery bar on the screen, resistance and whatever else you want to see on the screen, which is a nice feature. Swapping the board gives you a blanking plate, which is not much use. If you don’t want to see the screen, you can use the ‘Fire’ and ‘Down’ buttons switch it off, so its blank. Why Wismec?

The Variable Voltage mode board is firmware upgradeable, which is good, but you still have to take the board out to get to the USB port to do the upgrade. Why Wismec?
