The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC kit is the latest device by Geekvape, and it has one prominent selling feature. It can deliver an incredible 15-min fast charging speed.

The 3700mAh built-in battery also offers ultra-long battery life while delivering an adjustable power output of 5-120W.

The Obelisk 120 FC comes paired with the GeekVape Zeus Tank, compatible with Geekvape Z Series Coil to deliver great flavor and dense vapor.

It is a more modern design than previous Geekvape devices, but will it deliver when it comes to vape experience?

The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC kit is available in 4 colors: Black, Blue, Gunmetal, and Silver.

The Good

Good build quality, ergonomic, easy to use, good battery life, OTG reverse charging, excellent vape experience from included Zeus tank.

The Bad

Not a fast charge mod without a PD Fast Charger (not included), need a tool to removes coils, 510 plate may scratch easily.

The Bottom Line

The Obelisk 120 FC is a good internal battery device that is easy to use and comes in a stylish design. Its super-fast charging abilities are only possible with the optional extra kit. However, the included Zeus tank does deliver a great vape experience to make the kit a well-rounded, solid purchase.

Design & Style

The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit is a new regulated mod that the company has released. It may not look that different from any other regulated mods on the market, but it looks very different from GeekVape’s previous designs. Instead of focusing on making a rugged, waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof mod, GeekVape opted to focus on innovation when it came to the inside of the device.

The Obelisk 120 FC Kit is much slimmer than previous Geekvape devices and does not have rounded curves or backs like they did before. This means that the ergonomics suffer a bit when it comes to holding the device, but not enough for the vape to be unusable. The mod is tall at just over 130mm in height without the accompanying tank. It is also 27mm wide, which is not too much for a sub-ohm device with two internal cells.

Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit

The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit is a vape with an internal 3700mAh battery, which means there is no need for a removable panel. The fact this the device has an internal battery may be seen as a misstep by some, but the company promises more than 1 million puffs at 60 watts.

The front-facing, 0.69” TFT screen on the device’s side acts as the control panel and is clean and straightforward. The main power button sits near the 510-plate, and its 510 connection is spring-loaded.

The GeekVape Obelisk is aptly named as it has the clean, straight, and tall lines of an obelisk. Four color options for the device are black, silver, gunmetal, and blue. It measures a little over 130mm; despite its weighty exterior because of the dual-18650 batteries inside, it manages to maintain a sturdy exterior.

Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit

The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit has two side panels, each with a glossy surface. The panels themselves do not light up or have any other function, however, one side features the USB-C port, and both sides have a GeekVape logo. As mentioned before, this departure in style from Geekvape’s usual IPX7 waterproof rating of the Aegis line and other devices on offer seems to be an aesthetic choice, and it’s one I really like.

The design of the Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit is elegant and more sophisticated than previous mods in the same range. The straight lines and smooth curves make this device look sleek and classy. Thankfully it still also has that excellent build quality that Geekvape has been known for.

The only negative note I would add about the build quality is that the top 510 plate may scratch easily when screwing your tank on and off.

Features

The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC has an internal 3700mAh battery, with a maximum power output of 120W.

It has a USB type C charge port capable of charging in 15 minutes flat, but only with Geekvapes optional external charger or a PD charger.

However, the device can be charged with other USB-type C chargers. It also has an OTG reverse charge feature so that you can charge other devices from the mod’s battery.

The Obelisk has several operating modes from Power, TC, TC TCR, VPC, and Bypass.

The GeekVape Obelisk 120 mod has a familiar menu system; it is effortless to navigate if you have used an Aegis mod before.

  • Press the fire button 5 times to switch on/off
  • Press the fire button 3 times to change operating mode: Power to TC SS, TC TCR, VPC, BYPASS (and also to activate OTG reverse charging)
  • To change the theme color, press +/- buttons together while in the mode above.
  • In TC mode scroll through to lock your resistance, as well as adjust TCR values & puff count
  • To alter any adjustments, use the + & – buttons.
  • Pressing +/– together to lock the adjustment function – mod will still fire.
  • Press the fire button with either +/- button to change screen brightness accordingly.
Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit - Zeus Tank

Geekvape Zeus Sub-ohm Tank and Coils

The Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC comes with the Zeus (or Z) tank included in the kit.

The Zeus tank by Geekvape is a bottom airflow sub-ohm glass tank that can hold up to 3ml of e-juice. The tank can be expanded to hold 5ml of juice with the glass expander installed. It comes pre-installed with an 810 drip tip for larger clouds than with a 510 standard drip tip.

The Zeus tank features a top-to-bottom airflow system that is controlled by an airflow control ring at the top of the tank above the glass chamber. It is also a top fill system where the top cap is held in place by a bayonet system and can be removed by a quarter turn.

The Obelisk FC 120 is also available with its namesake tank – the Obelisk is also a top fill tank but can hold up to 5.5ml of juice. The Obelisk tank is also compatible with the Zeus coil.

The Zeus tank comes with two Z series coils in the kit. Pre-installed is a 0.2ohm mesh coil rated at 70-80W. The spare coil is also a mesh coil but is 0.4ohm rated at 50-60W.

As with previous Geekvape tanks, you need the included tool to pry out a coil once it’s in the tank, which I always find to be a pain, especially if you misplace the tool.

Performance

I’ve used the Zeus tank before but forgot just how instant it delivers a great vape and excellent flavor.

I started with the pre-installed 0.2ohm coil at around 60W, it there was virtually no ramp-up time. It delivered bundles of flavor from the offset and is an extremely cloudy vape.

I wasn’t quite as impressed with the 04ohm coil. I think it falls a little short in the flavor department compared to the 0.2ohm coil. It is still an excellent mesh coil that I have no complaints with, but side-by-side, the 0.2ohm is just a warmer, more plentiful vape.

As for the Obelisk 120FC device, it is a more than capable mod. I think it matches perfectly with the Zeus tank and can certainly deliver the power when needed.

It is fast-firing with an easy-to-use menu system. Overall it’s a simple and soil internal battery device.

Its real selling point is the 3700mAh battery with its fast charging capabilities.

Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit

However, it must be said for the Obelisk 120 to hit the faster charging rate (15 minutes), it has to be used with the optional charge kit! Yes, Geekvape does include a USB-C to USB-C cable in the kit, but not a charging brick.

So will need to already have a PD Fast Charger to get those charge speeds.

Most plugs that come with phones are USB to USB-C, the included cable also becomes useless, and using any standard USB 2 charger doesn’t get fast charging rates. It then becomes just a standard internal battery mod.

There is one added trick the Obelisk has up its sleeve (with the use of the included cable), and that’s that it can work as an OTG power bank to charge external devices.

It does work, but I’m not sure how great a feature that is, in all honesty. I’d much rather keep the juice in my device. But I suppose it could get you out of a tight spot if required, but you’d need to have the cable with you.

As for the actual battery life it delivers, well, the Obelisk does a good job of eeking out every bit of juice. So even if the fast charging may not work for everyone, unless you have the required plug, the internal does hold its own for long vape sessions.

  • Great battery life
  • Probably the fastest charging vape out there – 15 minutes!
  • Zeus tank delivers great flavor
  • 2 mesh coils included in the kit

Bad Vibes

  • Not a fast charge mod without PD Fast Charger (not included)
  • A bit of a fingerprint magnet
  • 510 plate may scratch easily
  • Needs a tool to remove the coil (included)
Geekvape Obelisk 120 FC Kit

Verdict

Overall the GeekVape Obelisk 120 FC is a solid device.

Yes, it can charge super fast, but only with the optional charge kit or PD charger.

However, for an internal 120W mod, it still holds its own when it comes to performance and battery life.

It is a solid yet ergonomic device that has an extremely easy-to-use menu system.

I think it makes a great pair with the included Zeus sub-ohm tank, which delivers cracking flavor from the Z series mesh coils.

It’s not a kit that will blow you away, but it’s certainly one that won’t disappoint either.
