Hotcig RSQ vs. Vandy Vape Pulse 80W Intro
Regulated squonk mods were few and far between at the turn of 2018.
However, as the year progressed the market went crazy for squonking. We saw a flurry of releases vying to be the best single battery regulated squonker.
Hotcig joined forces with Rig Mods to release the RSQ, a budget single 18650 squonk mod which earned them rave reviews across the board.
However, it was the much-anticipated Pulse update from Vandy Vape and Tony B, that had most vapers licking their lips.
The popular mechanical squonker received a regulated board, an improved squonk bottle, and a ton of drama from the VooPoo/Gene chip saga.
But which one comes out on top for the best pocket-friendly single battery squonk mod…..let’s find out.
Hotcig RSQ vs. Vandy Vape Pulse 80W
Verdict
When the Hotciq RSQ was released, it was by far the smallest regulated squonk mod on the market and a firm favorite of the Vaping Vibe team.
It remains one of the most pocket-friendly single 18650 regulated squonkers and still beats the Pulse 80W for compactness.
However it’s zinc alloy frame in comparison to the ABS frame of the Pulse 80W, does give it a little more weight – even if the Pulse is housing a 20700.
We have the Pulse 80W just about coming out on top for all the other ratings.
It’s lightweight frame, customizable design and battery versatility are impressive assets.
However, it’s when it comes to features and performance where we believe the Pulse 80W really trumps the RSQ.
It has a far more comprehensive board, with additional features and is more user-friendly than the RSQ. When you pair this with the fact it can utilize 20700s, giving you more power and better battery life – the Pulse 80W cleans up with overall performance.
The Pulse 80W is the clear winner in this battle.
