Design & Build Quality

Cracking open the eco-friendly packaging reveals the minimally adorned EZ Tube mod and Zenith Minimal tank in all their rounded glory.

The primarily cylindrical shapes pay homage to vaping’s mechanical mod roots.

The EZ Tube stands about 90mm tall without the tank attached. It has a diameter of 25mm, perfect for grabbing with your hand and operating with a thumb fire button. When held, the tube feels solid and substantial, with some nice weight from the internal battery.

Innokin EZ Tube – Colors

Innokin keeps the exterior branding subtle, with just the device name printed vertically along one side. The fire button sits nearly flush with the body, only slightly raised from its oval recess. This prevents the mod from accidentally firing when placed upright.

The Zenith Minimal tank has a smart industrial look, with a clean finish on both the Stainless Steel and Gunmetal Grey variants I reviewed. Only a simple engraved “Z” logo and Innokin name adorn the base. It feels lightweight yet durably constructed.

Connecting the two together results in a compact, pocket-friendly setup. Despite housing a 2100mAh battery, the EZ Tube avoids being overly long or cumbersome when attaching a 25mm tank.

Rotating the base of the mod reveals an OLED screen and a small dial for adjusting the wattage. An LED battery life ring encircles this base, offering an intuitive visual cue on remaining vape time.

The EZ Tube keeps things simple but doesn’t feel cheap. It seems built to last, from the solid tube construction to the threading on the battery cap and 510 connector. No button rattle either, despite having a side fire button and rotating dial.

The Zenith Minimal keeps operational choices straightforward as well. A quarter-turn top cap makes filling easy. And an adjustable airflow control ring smoothly transitions from a tight MTL draw all the way up to a loose DTL setting.

Both tank and mod color options offer tasteful choices to fit personal styles. And the kit provides spare o-rings and seals, showing intention for ongoing use rather than short-term disposability.

Overall, the EZ Tube and Zenith Minimal kit delivers on its goals of straightforward usability and durability. It forgoes trendy touches and fragile-feeling materials for solid construction. Both hobbyists and new vapers should find these well-built devices approachable.

Features & Functions

The EZ Tube mod focuses on delivering a quality vape experience through simplicity.

It lacks complex menu systems or settings, instead relying on essential variable wattage adjustment.

To operate the EZ Tube is, well, easy:

  • On/Off = 3 clicks of the fire button
  • Power Adjustment = 2 clicks of the fire button. Then, rotate the dial to set the desired wattage.
Innokin EZ Tube – Power Button

By the rotating dial, you can set their desired power level anywhere from 6W up to 40W. When turned, the dial offers satisfying clicks and changes the wattage in 0.5W increments up to 20W, then adjusts by whole numbers up to the max of 40W.

A modest OLED screen shows output wattage, battery life remaining, and current puff duration time. It avoids cluttering the tidy cylindrical exterior but is relatively small.

The device also features a neat circular LED light around the base, which will highlight battery status with the following:

  • Red = <10%
  • Yellow = 10%-30%
  • Green = >30%
Innokin EZ Tube – Screen & Dial

I like the inclusion of these LEDs, as it saves constantly tipping the device to look at the base for a battery gauge.

Although it seems a bit of an odd choice to have the Green LED range all the way down to 30%.

It can be misleading to think you have a decent battery remaining when you are actually at 31%. A quick glance at the screen does remedy this, but having the LED colors equal thirds would make more sense.

The EZ Tube has a 2100mAh internal battery, which provides enough capacity for a satisfying runtime between charges. There’s a USB-C port on the rear side for charging, which supports a 1.5A charge rate.

While the chipset lacks any temperature control or curve setting capacity, it does include the full range of necessary internal protections. So, despite its humble exterior, safety remains assured.

Zenith Tank/Coils

The Zenith Minimal sub-ohm tank provides solid performance in a simplified exterior.

It stands 50mm tall (34mm without the drip tip and 510 pin) with a 25mm diameter to pair nicely with the EZ Tube mod.

Unlike previous Zenith tanks, there’s no slide-to-fill mechanism. However, the Minimal’s quarter-turn top cap makes accessing the generous 4ml juice reservoir simple enough.

Innokin’s familiar kidney-shaped fill port works with any e-liquid bottle tip style. Leak-resistant seals prevent messes, and a clear glass chamber shows levels.

Airflow customization shines thanks to the fully adjustable control ring on the base of the Zenith Minimal. From a large cyclops airhole, all the way open for DTL down to three pinhole openings for MTL, finding your preferred draw is easy.

Uwell Caliburn GK3 Pod & Pod Window

The kit includes two different Kanthal coil options to account for both direct lung and mouth-to-lung preferences.

  • 0.8Ω Z coil (Kanthal Mesh: 15W-18W – MTL
  • 0.3Ω Z coil (Kanthal Mesh): 30W-40W – RDL

The tank is compatible with all other Z coils in Innokin’s range, which is excellent.

These Z-series coils snap securely into place rather than screwing into a base. Their plug-and-play connectivity makes switching coils painless.

Between the straightforward filling method, airflow tuning potential, and the ability to swap coils on demand, the Zenith Minimal tank is an ideal companion to the simplified EZ Tube mod.

Performance

Having tested what feels like countless pod systems and disposables recently, getting hands-on time with the EZ Tube kit felt like a return to my vaping roots. And I mean that positively – this straightforward yet capable setup delivers.

I appreciate Innokin sticking to convention in an unconventional time for vaping gear trends.

Between the classic tube mod shape and standard 510 connector, the EZ Tube adds a modern touch of usability with its handy base control ring.

That simplicity translated well during use. The EZ Tube is an unobtrusive workhorse.

It’s perfectly paired with the Zenith Minimal tank, which reliably performed through every testing scenario I threw its way – MTL draws up through cloud-chasing.

First up, the 0.8Ω Z coil and a 12mg nic salt juice for mouth-to-lung action.

Starting around 15W, the airflow dialed down provided exceptional flavor reproduction paired with a sufficiently tight draw. And swapping to freebase juice posed no issues either.

Innokin’s Z series coils have been a staple in the MTL world, and they shine just as well in the Zenith Minimal as any other tank.

Moving into the direct lung territory, the 0.3Ω coil delivered bold hits and ample clouds when twisting the airflow control wide open.

I gradually increased the power on the base dial, landing around 35W for an optimal flavor-to-cloud ratio. Vapor density can’t quite compete with designated sub-ohm tanks, but it stays consistent.

I can safely say the Zenith Minimal is one of the few no-fuss tanks that cater well to MTL and DL with little compromise.

The EZ Tube fires almost instantly, no matter the resistive load, which is great.

Battery life was also impressive. The 2100mAh cell kept pace with my sporadic use admirably.

I’d gauge it lasted just a bit under a full day when using the 0.3Ω coil and chain-vaping it. However, with the 0.8Ω, you’ll get a good two days’ worth of vaping from it.

The LED indicator ring provides ample notice when recharging nears. However, as I mentioned before, I wish Innokin used different percentages for the lights.

All in all, Innokin channeled their extensive industry knowledge into a kit that delivers. It provides versatility to satisfy with an elegant simplicity.

Verdict

The EZ Tube Zenith Minimal kit couples simplicity in form with flexibility in function. It provides quality, customizable vaping without intimidation or alienation.

The straightforward tube houses internals capable of adjustable wattage and everyday battery life. An intuitive base dial and side fire button keep operation simple.

EZ Tube Zenith Minimal kit focuses on good performance over fancy modes. The included coils and airflow tuning accommodate both DL and MTL styles well.

Pairing the solid EZ Tube with the adept Zenith Minimal tank proves a smart move by Innokin. The swappable coils, top fill design, and adjustable airflow will satisfy most vapers’ needs.

While high-wattage cloud chasers may want more than 40W, most vapers from moderate DTL to tight MTL will appreciate the EZ Tube kit. It delivers capable functionality without gimmicks.
