The Vaporesso XROS Pro is the latest pod system from Vaporesso, building on the success of the excellent XROS range.

As the name suggests, the XROS Pro takes things up a notch and adds some “Pro” enhancements.

At its core, the XROS Pro is an AIO (all-in-one) pod vape device with refillable pods, designed to be an easy and convenient vaping option. It’s an ultra-portable kit measuring just 86mm tall and very pocket-friendly.

One of the most significant upgrades is the addition of an OLED screen and adjustable wattage.

The XROS Pro runs on an internal 1200mAh battery with a power output range of 5-30W. It includes new 0.4Ω mesh pods with a 3ml capacity.

The XROS Pro is available in 7 colors: Black, Silver, Blue, Red, Green, Orange, and Pink.

Pros

  • Elegant design
  • Excellent build quality
  • Fantastic flavor production
  • Dense, warm vapor
  • Smooth and consistent airflow
  • Adjustable power settings
  • Hidden OLED screen
  • Flawless auto draw firing
  • Compatible with all XROS pods
  • Long-lasting 1200mAh battery
  • Respectable pod longevity (50mL+)
  • Quick USB-C charging

Cons

  • Only comes with 0.4Ω pod
  • Limited power adjustment (with 0.6Ω-1.2Ω pods)
  • Slight pod wiggle when attached

The Bottom Line

The XROS Pro is the best of all the XROS range, and easily one of the best pod vapes on the market. While it’s incredibly versatile and delivers fantastic flavor, it is more suited to the DL vaping with the 0.4Ω pod. This is where it shines with the full adjustable wattage and airflow. It’s still a great pod vape for MTL vaping. But it is best for those who like to dabble in both – highly recommended.

Design & Build Quality

Cracking open the XROS Pro box reveals a slick and stylish pod device.

I have the shiny Silver and stunning Red variants with a deep and rich finish.

The XROS Pro sports a tapered design, getting slightly wider in the middle (where the fire button is) before tapering back in towards the mouthpiece. This gives it some nice ergonomics that fit comfortably in hand.

Vaporesso Xros Pro – Design

Despite its relatively compact size, the XROS Pro has some surprising heft to it at 86g. But this lends a feeling of quality construction, with no rattles or creaking noises when handled.

The device features a durable zinc alloy frame with quality plastic elements scattered throughout. The build quality seems more high-end than your average mass-market pod system.

The rounded edges look slick, and all of the seams are tight and flush. Branding is also tastefully done, with a stamped logo on the back and small ‘Vaporesso’ text on the front. No flashy logos or text here.

Most striking is the unique aesthetic design with a visual screen that appears and disappears at the press of a button. This keeps a very minimalist style when not in use, which I love. The screen blends seamlessly into the chassis with a flush fit and matching colorway.

Vaporesso Xros Pro – Design

Just below sits a small indicator LED. It’s a three-stage battery level indicator, which glows green, blue, or red based on the remaining battery power.

The front-facing firing button has a satisfying click to it, with just the right amount of tactility without feeling stiff. Its positioning is right where your thumb rests.

There’s also a lock switch on the side of the device to prevent accidental fire presses or powering on in your pocket.

The adjustable airflow control located on the back is nicely implemented and matches that of the XROS 3. It has more range, however, allowing you to go from a tight MTL to an open DL draw.

Vaporesso Xros Pro – Charge Port

The pods connect perfectly via solid magnets. They are the same XROS-designed pods with top fill and duck-bill mouthpieces. However, the Pro comes with a new 0.4Ω resistance – more on this later.

The USB-C port for charging is on the device’s base, so it must be placed down to charge.

Overall, the design, fit-and-finish, ergonomics, and feature set of the XROS Pro create a very compelling package. Vaporesso has upped their game to another level with the Pro edition.

Features & Functions

The XROS Pro comes well-equipped when it comes to features, especially for a pod system.

The Pro is the first XROS device to come with adjustable wattage with a range of 5-30W.

However, there is a caveat – it’s only fully adjustable with the 0.4Ω pod.

Other XROS pods will switch to preset power profiles – Power (P), Normal (N), and Eco (E).

To operate the XROS Pro and adjust power settings is relatively straightforward:

  • On/Off – click the fire button 5 times
  • Lock/Unlock – slide the designed lock switch on the side
  • Clear puff count – click the fire button 4 times
  • Switch on/off LED lights – click the fire button 2 times
  • Power/Mode settings – click the power button 3 times.
  • – 0.6-1.2Ω pods – select P, N, or E and wait 3 seconds to save and exit.
  • – 0.4Ω pod – adjusts the wattage in 0.5W increments by pressing the power button, then wait 3 seconds to save and exit.
Vaporesso Xros Pro – Display

This brings us to the showstopper feature – the hidden OLED display. It’s designed to blend seamlessly into the design and disappear when not in use.

However, when in use, it is a relatively small display at only 0.42″. It will display the current power setting, along with puff count and battery percentage.

This makes the LED battery indicator a little redundant, in my opinion, but I guess it does add a little more flair.

The LED light pulses when in use with the following battery status:

  • Green = 70-100%
  • Blue = 30-70%
  • Red = 0-30%

There is another separate light on the device that is above the screen, which shows a lock symbol when you have the device in a locked state.

Vaporesso Xros Pro – Lock Switch & Fire Button

The fire on the XROS Pro provides a satisfying tactile click. However, you also have auto-draw activation to use the device.

The XROS Pro has an adjustable airflow slider on the back, which has one small and one large hole. Which allows for adjustment between restricted DL and tight MTL draws.

It has a large 1200mAh internal battery, which can be charged via USB-C. It supports 2A quick charging, and Vaporesso claims it can charge from 0-100 in just 35 minutes.

One little feature I love on Vaporesso devices is that it shows the remaining charge time in minutes, which is excellent.

Oh, and it also supports passthrough, so you can still use it while charging.

Rounding things out is the usual array of safety protections, including 10-second cutoff times and short circuits, low voltage, overheating, and overcharging protection.

Vaporesso Xros Pro – 0.4Ω Pods

Pods/Coils

The XROS Pro comes bundled with new 0.4Ω mesh pods to cater to restricted direct lung vaping.

They have a generous 3ml juice capacity and the same straightforward top-fill system. Just flick off the mouthpiece and fill it, then click it back when done.

The 0.4Ω resistance pairs nicely with the full spectrum of the adjustable wattage, making these pods the best match for the XROS Pro. They work well, around 25-27W for my taste.

Vaporesso does not include any other resistance pods. However, the XROS Pro maintains cross-compatibility with the full range of XROS pods.

This includes MTL-focused options with higher resistances of 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω & 1.2Ω. All of which worked well with the device during my testing.

The XROS pod range is one of our favorites on the market for its consistency, flavor, and longevity. It’s no different with this new 0.4Ω version.

Performance

Kicking things off, I have to say the XROS Pro fires up quickly and delivers a satisfying vape right out of the gate.

The 0.4Ω mesh coils produce a rich, full-bodied flavor that really pops. The adjustable airflow and wattage let you fine-tune the draw to your preference.

After testing dozens of pods over the years, I can easily rank the XROS pods among the top for flavor fidelity.

The 0.4Ω doesn’t let the side down. It brings out nuanced notes, especially for complex dessert or fruit juice profiles. All with plenty of vapor production.

Vaporesso’s expertise with coil tech clearly shines through.

I tested a few of my 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω XROS pods in the Pro and noticed no difference in performance from the XROS 3 in normal (N) mode.

Where things get interesting with the XROS Pro is the ability to adjust the power profile or wattage.

In all honesty, I noticed a minimal difference with the standard XROS pods when flicking between Normal, Eco, and Power.

However, with the 0.4Ω pod and the ability to fully adjust the wattage, it was very noticeable. I found my sweet spot around 25-27W for a 70/30 VG juice.

It’s also worth noting that the pods had no issue wicking thicker juices or leaking throughout my testing.

The airflow adjustment is not too dissimilar to the XROS 3. You can shut it off entirely and get a comparable tight MTL to draw with the higher ohm coils.

You get much more airflow when fully open and using the 0.4Ω pod. It doesn’t quite get to cloud-chucking sub-ohm tank territory. But it is a more than satisfying restricted DL draw.

The firing button and automatic draw activation work excellently, with no delays or inconsistencies. And ramp-up times stay quick even at higher resistances.

Battery life expectations were also exceeded thanks to the ample 1200mAh cell size. During my testing, I was vaping heavily, but I still got through a full day before needing to recharge.

On the charging side of things – the USB-C quick charging works as advertised. I timed a full charge from empty at just under 40 minutes using the included USB-C cable – which is great.

The XROS Pro is an excellent pod vape that can cater to MTL and DL vaping with adjustable power and airflow.

That said, I still came away from testing it and returned to using my Vaporesso Luxe X Pro.

They both have Vaporesso’s excellent coil technology and deliver comparable vape quality.

But the Luxe X Pro has a larger battery (1500mAh), better screen, adjustable wattage for any resistance, 5ml capacity, and compatibility with pods & coils.

They are approximately the same weight, but the XROS Pro is a taller, slimmer device. So, I guess the form factor could be a deciding choice.

There’s no denying that Vaporesso is really on top of its game when it comes to pod vapes, and the XROS Pro is the best of the XROS range.

Verdict

I enjoyed my time testing the XROS Pro and can confidently say it’s the most complete of all the XROS range.

That said, it might not be the best choice for everyone.

Two of the most unique factors of the XROS Pro over previous generations are its adjustable wattage and the new 0.4Ω pod.

This is where the XROS Pro really shines.

So, it’s an excellent choice for vapers looking for a restricted DL vape while also having the ability to MTL vape.

Although I’d still suggest looking at the Vaporesso Luxe Pro, as you may prefer that form factor and larger capacities.

If you’re solely an MTL vaper, then the XROS Pro doesn’t offer much in terms of improving the vape experience over the XROS 3. The power adjustments are limited.

It does have a larger battery capacity, and an OLED screen. But they are just luxuries that come at a higher cost.

However, there’s no denying that the XROS Pro is an excellent and highly versatile pod vape – one that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
