Design & Build Quality

Cracking open the Luxe X Pro box reveals a device that’s no surprise on the styling front.

All throughout the Luxe range, Vaporesso has done an impressive job with the design language where each device is obviously from the same family, but they have their own subtle traits.

They also need to be commended on the fact that the entire range can utilize the same Luxe pods – which can be overstated, more on this later!

As for the Luxe X Pro design, it has that excellent crafted blend of a durable zinc alloy frame with plastic accents to create a contemporary pod vape.

The Luxe Pro feels somewhat minuscule in my hand as I’ve been using the Luxe XR Max recently as my daily driver.

However, once you take it out of context from its larger sibling, it’s not the smallest of pod vapes, measuring 99.1mm x 32mm x 23.4mm. 

I think that makes it middle of the pack size-wise compared to others in the Luxe range – and perfectly pocketable and portable.

The rounded rectangular shape and smooth curved edges make it ergonomic and comfortable to hold for extended vaping sessions.

Vaporesso has also done an excellent job on the matte color finishes on the devices. It gives them a little grip without them being glossy fingerprint magnets. 

As with previous Luxe X models, they have a good selection of colors. I particularly love the sophisticated Blue and White variants we have in for review. However, it like your device to have a little more flair the Gunmetal

Lime, Ultra Orange & Dazzling Yellow look rather…well, ‘Dazzling.’

The Luxe X Pro earns its moniker of ‘Pro’ as it comes with a 0.42″ OLED screen. This was not present on previous X or XR models (only the XR Max).

The screen blends seamlessly into the darkened front panel, almost making it appear larger at first glance. It provides ample brightness even outdoors. And the display delivers essential info like wattage, battery life, and puff count.

The rectangular fire button has a nice clickiness when pressed. And the two small, square menu buttons also give a satisfying tactile click. 

All are very responsive and easy to operate by feel. Not that you have to use them to operate the X Pro, as it’s the first of the Luxe models to come with auto-draw firing (more on this later).

The Luxe X Pro also has an adjustable airflow slider on one side of the device, just like the Luxe XR Max. It’s easy to slide and adjust and stays in position well.

However, unlike the XR Max, it doesn’t have an airflow slot on the other side. It relies solely on this side for the airflow – which means it’s better tailored to MTL vaping.

The Luxe pods snap securely into place with strong magnets. Vaporesso seems to have nailed the pod-to-battery connection. No worries about them coming loose accidentally during use.

I’ve seen others complain that there’s too much play and wiggle with the Luxe pods. It’s not something I’ve ever had a problem with in daily use, and I think the X Pro pods sit well.

Lastly, you can find the USB-C port for charging on the base of the device. Its position keeps the design’s whole aesthetic clean, but it does mean you need to lay it flat while charging.

I think the Luxe X Pro looks slick in all color options. And Vaporesso definitely doesn’t cut corners on materials or manufacturing quality. It’s an exceptionally well-built device and, in my opinion, one of the best-looking premium pod vapes on the market.

Features & Functions

As expected, the Luxe X Pro comes packed with features for a ‘Pro’ pod system.

This X Pro is powered by a large 1500mAh battery and offers variable wattage with a range of 5-40W. 

The conveniently placed menu buttons make adjusting the wattage on the fly simple. 

It also features Vaporesso’s Smart Mode, which will automatically detect the resistance of the pod/coil attached and set the recommended wattage.

The 0.42″ OLED screen clearly displays your current setting, so you know the power level at a glance. It will also show your battery level and puff count.

The Luxe X Pro has a Type-C USB port for charging and supports a speedy 1.5A charge rate. 

Another thing I love about Vaporesso devices and charging is as soon as you plug it in, it will tell you the remaining recharge time in minutes. This stays visible throughout charging, which is super handy.

The Luxe X Pro can be operated manually via the firing button or just with an inhale. Yes, you read that right: the Luxe X Pro is the first of the X devices to come with auto-inhale firing – and it works flawlessly.

The X Pro also comes with a fully adjustable airflow slider on the side of the device to cover both DTL and MTL vaping.

As you’d expect from Vaporesso, it has all the safety features you need, from low voltage/resistance to over-temperature or overtime protection.

Another feature that must be mentioned here is the Luxe X Pro flexibility with pods/coils. It is compatible with all previous Luxe pods and GTX coils, meaning you can pretty much fine-tune your vape experience.

Operating the Luxe X Pro:

• On/Off – Five clicks of fire button
• Turn Smart Mode On/Off – Press fire button and + button simultaneously
• Clear Puff Counter – Press fire button and – button simultaneously
• Lock/Unlock device – 3 clicks of the fire button (when the device is active)  

It’s also worth noting the contrary to some YouTube reviews. Vaporesso updated the Lock system. So now it just locks all buttons but can still be fired through auto-draw – which is great.

Pods & Coils

The Luxe X Pro kit includes two mesh coil pods to cater to different vaping styles right out of the box.

• Luxe 0.4Ω Mesh Pod (range 26-32W)
• Luxe 0.6Ω Mesh Pod (range 20-26W)

The 0.4Ω pod is ideal for direct lung vaping, and the 0.6Ω pod can be used for either a mouth-to-lung or restricted direct lung draw depending on airflow settings.

There is also a 0.8Ω Luxe Mesh pod available, which caters more to an MTL vape.

The Luxe X Pro is also compatible with the XR pods that utilize replaceable GTX coils ranging from 0.2Ω mesh up to 1.2Ω. And there’s even an RBA coil.

Basically, you can get any type of vape you like from the Luxe X Pro by just matching it with the appropriate pod/coil.

The pods use Vaporesso’s proprietary COREX heating technology, which helps provide excellent flavor consistency even through multiple refills. 

The pods have a generous 5ml capacity, so you can vape for a while before needing to refill. The rubber plug makes filling easy. Just pop it open and fill it up with no mess.

The pods connect securely to the battery with strong magnets to prevent accidental detachment. And the transparent (but tinted) plastic lets you monitor juice levels.

Performance

So you don’t have to read the following few paragraphs of me gushing about the Luxe X Pro, let me tell you this right off the bat:

The Luxe Pro is an awesomely versatile pod vape, probably the best you can get right now – buy it!

I might be slightly biased as I was a huge fan of the Luxe Max XR and used it daily. Not anymore; the X Pro just solves all the niggling little issues I had with the larger device. 

The most significant thing the Luxe X Pro addresses for me is its auto-draw. You now don’t have to rely on manual firing. 

And let me add that it is quite possibly one of the best auto-draw triggers on a pod device, incredibly responsive regardless of whether you are DTL or MTL vaping.

The second big thing for me is it can now deliver an incredibly satisfactory tight MTL draw. 

As the Luxe X Pro only has one airflow, shutting it off can give you a tight MTL draw. The Luxes, including the Luxe XR Max with adjustable airflow, still had two airflows, so they were too airy for a tight MTL.

The caveat to that is if you want a fully open DL vape with a low resistance coil, you would be better suited to the Max XR (mainly because it can handle more power and has a larger battery).

However, the Luxe X Pro just ticks all the boxes for everything in between.

So how about the two pods that come included, how do they perform?

Well, it’s no surprise that both deliver absolutely fantastic flavor – as is the case with any of the COREX coils from Vaporesso.

I genuinely think the GTX coils with COREX are the most consistent coil range on the market.

So, let’s cover the nuances between the 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω pod.

The 0.4Ω really is designed just for DTL and restricted DTL vaping. 

I loaded mine up with 70VG juice, fully opened the airflow, and cranked the device up to 32W. Pure clouds of joy.

I class it as a direct lung, but there is a slight restriction there. If you dial the airflow in a little, you can also get an excellent restrictive DL. 

The 0.6Ω is actually my preferred pod for this device. It can still deliver a fantastic restricted DTL with the airflow open, just slightly cooler. But then you can adjust the airflow to cover a loose to even a tight MTL with it – and it still does a great job at both.

Obviously, make sure to adjust the power accordingly. You don’t need all the full 26W if you are trying to do a tight MTL.

I know they are not included in the kit, but I have to mention the 0.8Ω Luxe Mesh pod and the LUXE XR (MTL) pod with a replaceable 0.8Ω GTX coil inside.

I think both deliver the perfect MTL vaping experience for this device. You can get an incredibly flavorful and slightly tighter draw. Plus, you can run them at a lower wattage, which is better suited to a 1500mAh device.

So the one negative is that I wish Vaporesso included the 0.8Ω pod also because I think MTL vapers will prefer it. 

I had no issues with leaking or dry hits with any of the Luxe pods I tested on the device. It even fared well without leaking when it was in my hand luggage on a recent flight.

A quick word on battery life. 

The 1500mAh battery holds up just as you’d expect. It will give you a full day of vaping at lower wattages for MTL. 

But as soon as you push it to higher wattages, you might want to be near a charger, as you might not make it through the day.

Fortunately, the charge times with the 1.5A charge rate are good.

Overall, I think the Luxe X Pro delivers an outstanding vape experience. It’s incredibly versatile and can comprehensively cater to both DL and MTL vaping. 

It has all the features you need in a pod device but is still extremely easy to use and has a stylish, sleek design – and I love it!

Verdict

The Vaporesso Luxe X Pro delivers an exceptional vaping experience in a user-friendly package. 

It performs just as well as advanced vape mods for both DL and MTL vaping – while being far more convenient and portable.

The vast options of Luxe pods and coils allow you to tailor the vape exactly how you want. And the included 0.4Ω & 0.6Ω pods deliver a vape range that will easily satisfy most. 

The flavor production from the pods is fantastic, and the auto-draw on the Luxe X Pro is excellent.

If all you want from a pod device is clouds with wide-open DL vaping and a high capacity – go for the Luxe XR Max. The Luxe X Pro is the better pod system for everyone else.

The Luxe X Pro is now my daily driver and my favorite pod system on the market. It really nails that sweet spot between performance and convenience – highly recommended.
