The Vaporesso Swag PX80 is the third of the Vaporesso Swag line, and it’s the only Swag to adopt a pod mod style design.

Vaporesso could’ve taken the easy route and simply replaced the 510 with a pod connector like other manufacturers. Still, instead they decided to completely re-design the Swag.

The new design sees the PX80 use an IML embedded screen, which blends seamlessly with the side panel and is only visible when the device is turned on.

The PX80 is a single 18650 device, and its pod has a 4ml capacity and utilizes the GTX coil range.

The Swag PX80 is available in 5 different colors: Leather brown, emerald green, imperial red, brick black, gunmetal grey.

The Good

Exceptional build quality, compact & lightweight, IML embedded screen, excellent coil locking/release design, no leaking, great flavor from coils.

The Bad

Not the tightest MTL draw, cannot replace drip tip (due to locking integrated locking mechanism).

The Bottom Line

In such an overcrowded market of AIO/pod style vapes, it’s challenging to stand out from a design and vape experience perspective. The PX80 is the first kit in a long-time that has genuinely wowed me with its attention to detail in the stylish design and the performance it delivers for DL and restricted DL vaping. It may not suit those that want a tight MTL vape, but for everybody else – this is the best compact pod-style vape on the market right now.

Design & Style

The Swag PX80 is a small AIO device and is extremely pocketable.

It keeps the same design format made popular by the Pico range with the battery cap on top of the device next to the tank.

The PX80 also matches up in size with those Pico’s and its predecessor, the Swag 2 kit, measuring in at 99.7 mm x 47.9 mm x 25.1 mm.

It would be easy to say that the PX80 is essentially a Swag 2 kit but in an AIO format. However, it’s much more than that.

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit

The most significant design element which makes the PX80 standout is its seamlessly blended screen. Vaporesso took a bold move and decided to embed the 0.96-inch TFT screen into the device’s side panel using IML (in-mould labeling).

This allows the screen to almost disappear in the carbon fiber styled panel as if it’s not even there when not in use. When the mod is active, the screen is punchy and vibrant enough. It’s a creative design that’s well-executed, and I really have grown to love it.

The rest of the PX80 design sports a gunmetal colored frame with the back being a leather panel instead of the Carbon fiber. All of the PX80’s available have the same body, with only the color of the leather panel being different. We have the ’emerald green’ in for review, and it’s a nice green that I think goes surprisingly well with the rest of the kit.

It’s also worth noting that the leather doesn’t feel cheap either, it feels quite thick and pleasing to touch.

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit

The Swag PX80 has the fire button, the +/- adjustment buttons, and the USB-C port for charging all on the front of the device. Like with all Vaporesso devices, the buttons are perfectly clicky and responsive with no rattles whatsoever.

Vaporesso has also done a great job with the connection of the 4ml capacity pod. It’s held firmly in place by strong magnets but can also be twisted to act as the adjustable airflow – more on this later.to show through the panel clearly

Overall the Swag PX80 has excellent build quality and striking looks to match. It’s undoubtedly one of the sleekest AIO/Pod systems on the market.

Features

The Swag PX80 is a single 18650 device that has a power range of 5-80W.

It features all the safety protection you’d expect from a modern vape device and is relatively uncluttered in its feature set.

There are Wattage, Voltage, and Smart Wattage modes. The latter automatically sets your wattage based on the resistance of the attached coil.

The screen displays wattage, battery meter, resistance, puff counter, and also the recommended watts for the attached coil (which is an excellent addition).

Operating the PX80 is incredibly easy:

  • Five clicks of the fire button – on/off
  • Three clicks of the fire button – lock +/- adjustment buttons
  • Press up or down to adjust wattage
  • Hold up and down to enter the menu

There’s also a daily puff history (last seven days) the ability to reset it and change the color of the screen between green, blue, and pink.

The PX80 also utilizes a Type-C USB port for charging and supports 2A fast charging.

Tank/Coils

The Swag PX80 comes with a 4ml capacity (2ml TPD) pod called the Swag Pod. It’s the same style pod/tank crossover that is becoming ever popular that we’ve seen on the likes of the recent Voopoo Drags.

The pod connects to the device via magnets, and they are strong enough to hold it in place perfectly with no wiggle. However, they still give you the ability to twist the tank, which is essential as that’s how you adjust the airflow. The airflow for the Swag pod can go from a direct lung to a restricted DL draw. If you use one of the higher ohm coils, it can get down to a loose MTL draw with the airflow closed off completely.

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit

Another excellent design choice by Vaporesso is with the coil attachment and replacement. The PX80 uses the GTX plug-n-play coils. However, instead of just pushing them into place (like most other tanks), the coils are actually locked into place by rotating the drip tip.

To remove a coil you need to twist the drip tip from the locked to the unlocked position, shown by symbols on the pod. You then push the drip tip in, and it will pop the coil out enough so you can easily remove it.

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit

To insert a coil, it’s the same in reverse: push the coil in, and the drip tip will pop up and then rotate the drip tip to lock it.

This means you don’t have to struggle to try to pull coils out with your fingernails and means you can replace a coil even when you have juice in the pod, as it works as a kind of juice flow control.

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit

It’s an excellent design and works flawlessly, with only one small caveat – you cannot replace the Swag pod’s drip tip. It’s actually a really nice Delrin drip tip, which is incredibly comfortable to use. Still, it is a wide bore style, so it’s not really suited to those MTL coils.

Refilling the Swag pod is also easy; it has the rubber plug on the tank’s base, like many other pods. So you do need to remove the tank from the device to refill it.

The Swag PX80 uses Vaporesso’s GTX coil range, which we have covered in reviews of their other devices. In the kit, you get two coils included:

  • A 0.2-ohm mesh coil (rated for 45-60 watts)
  • A 0.3-ohm mesh coil (rated for 32-45 watts)

You can also buy other resistance coils separately, there’s quite an extensive range covering anything from 7 to 60W.

Performance

Vaporesso has always done a solid job of making good performing coils, and the GTX range is no exception.

However, out of the two included in the kit, I’d have to say the 0.2-ohm performed the best. It provided a little more flavor and punch when using it with more airflow for a DL vape. I found it worked best around the 40-45 watt mark and was a really enjoyable vape.

That’s not to say the 0.3-ohm coil was bad, far from it. However, that coil seems to perform best around the 35 watts mark, which meant it was just a little cooler and calmer than the 0.2-ohm.

I did try one of Vaporesso’s 1.2-ohm mesh MTL coils in the Swag pod. It provided an ok loose MTL draw. I don’t really think the airflow and the wide bore drip tip are well suited for a tight MTL draw. However, for a loose MTL vape, it was still delivering plenty of flavor.

As for the PX80, I have absolutely no complaints. It has quick-firing, easy to use modes, and seemed efficient on battery use. Overall it’s an excellent kit for vapers who want a DL or restricted DL vape in a compact and stylish package.

Verdict

I think Vaporesso did an exceptional job with the styling and aesthetics of the PX80, and the design choices they made are not just for show.

The embedded screen, adjustable airflow, and coil locking mechanism on the drip tip are more than just functional – they improve the user experience.

The GTX coils deliver excellent performance for DL and restricted DL vapes, with plenty of flavor. However, it might not suit those wanting a tight MTL style vape.

Right now, I think the Swag PX80 is one of the best pod systems on the market, and I absolutely love it.
