The Voopoo Vinci 2 & Vinci X 2 are the latest updates on the original Vinci series.

The new devices bring with them upgrades which include; a 1.08″ TFT color display, Gene.AI 2.0, 6.5ml juice capacity, and fully adjustable airflow.

The Vinci 2 comes with an inbuilt 1500mAh battery, while the Vinci X 2 utilizes an external 18650.

Both devices support the full range of VooPoo’s excellent PnP coils.

The Voopoo Vinci 2 and X 2 are available in 5 colors: Velvet Blue, Pine Grey, Dazzling Line, Carbon Fiber, and Neon.

The Good

Excellent build quality, premium feel, versatile PNP coil options, great new airflow system, good flavor and clouds from coils.

Design & Style

There are no drastic design or form changes on the Vinci 2 over the original Vinci series.

It’s more of an incremental upgrade on the previous design, or you might say it’s just a 2.0 version.

Throughout this review, we’ll mainly discuss the Vinci 2 and will simply highlight the differences with the Vinci X 2. In essence, they perform the same; it’s just that one device comes with an inbuilt 1500mAh battery- Vinci 2. While the other is slightly larger as it houses an external 18650 battery – Vinci X 2.

So what’s new and worthy of the ‘2’ on these new Vinci devices?

VooPoo Vinci 2 & Vinci X 2

Firstly, the Vinci 2s have a slightly more curved body than the original and are incredibly ergonomic. Not that the original was boxy, but it definitely feels better in the hand.

This might also be due to the lovely matte finish on the devices. Both the zinc alloy frame and the colored panel feel great to touch. They are a considered improvement on the previous glossy finishes.

Another subtle but welcomed inclusion is that both devices have a rubber ring on the base of the device, enabling them to stand upright perfectly on any flat surface. It also gives it a nice feel when you place it down and will keep you from scratching the bottom of your device.

However, the most significant upgrade will be pretty easy to spot, and that’s the inclusion of a full airflow control system.

VooPoo Vinci 2 & Vinci X 2

It’s worth noting that Voopoo hasn’t just bolted an AFC slider to the device. They’ve actually taken care of making sure it works well. You’ll see on either side of the devices there are two airflow slots, with one of them containing a protruding pin that can slide either way to open or close the airflow. It’s extremely smooth to slide and has the perfect amount of resistance.

The second noteworthy upgrade on the Vinci 2s is not one you will notice from the offset, but both now come with the Gene.AI 2.0 chipset.

This comes with a slightly improved UI in line with Voopoo’s other recent devices.

As for the screen and buttons, both rock a 1.08″ TFT Color Screen with the fire button above and the +/- adjustment buttons below the screen.

VooPoo Vinci X 2 Screen

The Vinci X 2 has the adjustment buttons in a vertical alignment, compared to the horizontal of the Vinci 2. This may just be due to the elongated form of the device. Either way, they both work well.

VooPoo Vinci 2 Screen

There’s no real design change in the Vinci pods. They still connect magnetically and maintain that duck-billed style mouthpiece. However, somehow Voopoo has managed to squeeze out a little more capacity. Both are now giving a maximum of 6.5ml, compared to the 5.5ml of the original.

Overall Voopoo has not tried to re-invent the wheel with the new Vinci 2s. Still, they have taken an already impressive design and made some welcome tweaks to improve its looks and functionality.

VooPoo Vinci X 2 Battery

Features

The Vinci 2 comes with an internal 1500mAh battery, while the Vinci X 2 utilizes an external 18650.

This gives the Vinci 2 a variable wattage range of 5-50W, and the Vinci X 2 has a 5-80W range.

However, it is worth noting that those last 10W on both devices are only accessible when you have it in RBA mode, and the standard mode caps it short for performance.

Both the devices come with VooPoo’s upgraded Gene.AI 2.0 chip, which features instant firing and intelligent coil matching along with all the standard safety protections.

However, only the Vinci 2 has an auto draw feature when it comes to firing modes – which was the same on both predecessors.

There is USB Type-C charging on both mods, which is an updated version and supports 5V/2A charging. The charge port is found on the side of both devices.

Operating either device is as straightforward as with any other VooPoo device:

  • 5 Clicks of Fire Button = On/Off
  • 3 Clicks of Fire Button = Adjusts draw options between Auto, Manual, or Both (Only on Vinci 2).
  • + /– buttons adjust wattage in 1-watt increments (5-40w)
  • Press and hold Fire & + Button = Locks/Unlocks all buttons (still able to fire with draw activated setting)
  • Press and Hold + & – Button = View Puff Information
  • Press and hold Fire & – Button = Resets Puff Counter
VooPoo Vinci & Vinci X 2 Pods

The Pods

The Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2 both come with one pod/cartridge (I would’ve liked to have seen two included in each kit).

The pod has an increased 6.5ml capacity (still only 2ml in TPD areas) but still sports the same design and rubber side fill port.

As with the previous pods, the plastic has a slightly tinted hue to it but is still easy enough to see your juice level.

The four magnets on each corner of the pod make sure they connect perfectly to the devices, with virtually no excess wiggle when attached.

As expected, the pods support the full range of PnP coils.

VooPoo Vinci & Vinci X 2 Coils

Coils

The VooPoo Vinci 2 comes with the following two coils in the kit:

  • PnP-VM1 mesh coil (0.3Ω)
  • PnP-TM2 Kanthal coil (0.8Ω)

The VooPoo Vinci X 2 comes with these coils:

  • PnP-VM1 mesh coil (0.3Ω)
  • PnP-VM6 mesh coil (0.15Ω)

They are both also compatible with all the PnP-RBA, which sadly is not included in the kit and needs to be purchased separately.

VooPoo Vinci 2 & Vinci X 2

Performance

The performance from both Vinci 2 devices is exactly as you’d expect and is pretty much the same as the original Vinci device.

So if you want to get a full rundown on the device and individual coil performance, check out our review here – VooPoo Vinci Review

The upgraded chip doesn’t make much of a difference in the vape experience; however, it may be more efficient in the long term.

The only real performance upgrade you get with the Vinci 2s over the original is when it comes to airflow.

The biggest downfall of the original Vinci is that it had minimal airflow options. In fact, there were just two. Which were dependant on which way you placed the pod in the device.

This meant that not only was it lacking in range to match the extensive range of coils, but it also fell well short when it came to MTL vaping.

VooPoo Vinci 2 & Vinci X 2

Thankfully the new adjustable airflow system works a treat on the new Vinci 2 devices. It gives you a fully wide open draw for those low ohm mesh coils and big clouds. And it finally can be entirely closed off to deliver a more than satisfying MTL draw with the higher resistance coils.

You are no longer reliant on the coil diameter and can be far more tailored with your vape experience. It’s worth noting that the draw is incredibly smooth on the airflow with any setup.

As for battery life, that remains the same as the previous Vinci’s. The 1500mAh is just enough for the smaller device, and the chipset is quite efficient on both.

The real upgrade here is the 2A USB Type-c charging, which was another downfall of the original.

It may have been a long time coming, but finally, Voopoo has made the Vinci a complete AIO kit.

Good Vibes

  • Excellent build quality
  • Compact design
  • Premium looks
  • Fully adjustable airflow
  • Huge 6.5ml capacity
  • Solid magnets
  • Informative color display
  • Rapid-firing GENE 2.0 chip
  • Good battery life
  • Smooth airflow
  • Excellent coil range
  • Great flavor from PnP coils

Bad Vibes

  • No spare pod
  • Mouthpiece still not the greatest for MTL
VooPoo Vinci 2 & Vinci X 2

Verdict

The VooPoo Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2 are both excellent devices. I’d go as far as to say some of the best AIO kits you can currently get.

The upgrades over the original Vinci line may only be incremental. Still, those little touches do lead to a more polished kit.

If you already have the Vinci, should you upgrade to a Vinci 2?

Ultimately the performance is pretty much the same from both kits. The main reason to upgrade would be if you found the airflow lacking on the original.

I know I did, especially when it came to MTL. Will the Vinci 2 replace my current MTL setup? Probably not, but I’m definitely going to keep using it as one of my all-around devices.
