The Geek Bar Meloso Pro follows a very familiar form factor for disposables but tries to bring a little bling to the styling.
It’s a box-shaped disposable with a very similar layout to the Geek Bar B5000 and the popular Elf Bar 5000.
Like most other box-style disposables, it has an off-centered mouthpiece. However, the Meloso mouthpiece is smaller and more contoured, making it extremely comfortable in the mouth.
The Meloso Pro differs in design from other disposables of this format with its glossy and reflective base section. It tries to add a bit more of a premium look to what is essentially just a plastic box. Even though this mirrored section is still plastic, it somewhat elevates the look. In addition, I like that Geek Bar has added a tint of color to this section to match the color of the flavor profile within.
The rest of the body is the familiar two-tone design, with bright, vibrant colors highlighting the flavor profile. Unfortunately, some are too similar in coloring, so you may need to read the printed flavor description on the body to distinguish between them.
I’m not a massive fan of how shiny and plastic the Meloso is. I know it’s common with disposables, but I prefer the rubber-coated look (like the B5000). It looks a bit cleaner, in my opinion, and offers a lot more grip. But, on the other hand, the Meloso can be a bit slippery in the palm of your hand.
On the base of the Meloso Pro, you will see the USB-C port for charging, small airflow holes, and the LED battery indicator. Again, all standard stuff for a rechargeable disposable, but it sits in a slightly recessed section, which is good for keeping out grit and dirt.
Overall the design of the Meloso Pro is nothing new or spectacular. In fact, it simply blends into the evergrowing congested disposable market. However, it’s not the style and format of the Meloso that interests me as much as how it performs, especially with its dual mesh coil. So let’s dive into that.
Pineapple Coconut Ice
A delightful Coconut and Pineapple that’s truly fresh and juicy right from the inhale. It’s like vaping a refreshing Pina Colada and is easily one of the nicest versions I’ve tried. The cooling effect is present but not overpowering.
A really solid Grape flavor that is authentic in its taste but has some nice depth to it. The dual mesh really lets the juiciness of the Grape punch through. The cooling is a little stronger in this one, but not too much to kill the flavor.
A really good Watermelon vape that tastes very natural. This is the only one where I think the Ice cooling effect detracts somewhat from the overall experience, as it’s quite strong. However, you still get plenty of the Watermelon flavor coming through, and it is very refreshing.
A really authentic Mango that tastes just like you’ve taken a bite from a ripe organic Mango. Thankfully the ice is a bit more subtle with this one. This is easily one of the best Mango flavors I’ve tried and one of my favorites in the line.
This was a truly delightful mix. First, the Orange provides the sweetness and it’s the more prominent flavor. Then the Lemon gives a slight bitter lift. It’s the perfect blend of juicy citruses. I’m glad there’s virtually no ice in this one, as it’s refreshing enough – another favorite.
Just like the Mango Ice, it’s a natural flavoring that’s nice and juicy. The Peach is sweet and hits you straight from the inhale. The cooling is present to give a nice lift but is not overpowering—another good flavor.
I don’t get much of the bubblegum with this one. It’s more like strawberry candy. I think the cooling that’s present doesn’t do it any favors for the flavor profile. But it’s still a nice vape if you like strawberry ice flavors.
A bit of an uninspiring one for me. You can tell it’s a berry flavor but can’t really distinguish any individual berry notes. It’s also overpowered by a really strong cooling from the Ice effect. So it’s not bad but not the best in this line-up.
A perfect mix of Strawberries and Bananas. Both flavors are equally balanced and are easily distinguishable. They are also both natural tasting which is great. There is some cooling present, but it’s extremely subtle.
Another delightful one. The Guava is really juicy and one of the nicest authentic Guava flavors I’ve tasted. The dual mesh really helps to give it a juicy punch. The ice is exceptionally well-balanced in this one and doesn’t kill the flavor—another excellent fruity vape.
The Geek Bar Meloso Pro impressed me from the very first vape.
You instantly notice the difference in having that dual mesh coil; the flavors feel more punchy.
Also, I’m super happy that Geek Bar decided to reign it in a bit with the Ice effect in this line-up. They usually tend to lean a little heavy with the cooling, which I think detracts from the flavor, and with the impact of the mesh coil, it would’ve been overkill.
Thankfully, most of the flavors I tested were on point, and the slight cooling only added to the experience rather than drowning out the flavoring.
It’s hard to get excited about disposables when they all tend to perform similarly. It’s a rare thing when one really standout from the crowd.
The Meloso Pro, in my opinion, is one of those disposables. It might not look different from others on the market, but when it comes to the performance and the delivery of pure flavor, it’s undoubtedly one of the best I’ve tried.
The flavor profiles on offer are also impressive. The Pineapple Coconut Ice, Mango Ice, Guava Ice, and Orange Lemon are absolute treats and all-day vapes for me.
The auto-draw switch works perfectly and never faltered while testing the range. The airflow and draw are smooth; it’s more of an open to medium MTL draw, but it works well with the mesh coils.
The 600mAh battery does a good job of lasting, and I was pretty surprised by how little I needed to reach for the charger. Although I didn’t count the exact puff count delivered by each disposable, in my vast experience of testing disposables week in and week out, I can safely say the 4000 puffs advertised is not a stretch for the Meloso Pro.
The Geek Bar Meloso Pro is one of the first disposables I’ve tried this year that exceeded my expectations.
The flavor delivered from the dual mesh coil is easily up there as the best I’ve tried from disposable.
Geek Bar has also done an excellent job creating authentic and moreish flavors in the line-up, making the Melosa Pro an easy recommendation to any vaper.
While I’m not overly enthused with the styling of the device, particularly the glossy plastic. I really don’t care when it delivers a vape experience this good.
The Geek Bar Meloso Pro is highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-capacity disposable and might just be the one to beat this year.
I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for the Meloso Max – it’s higher capacity, bigger brother, when that’s available.
