Smok has done it again with another excellent addition to the Nord range. Nord C is packed full of features that I would expect to see on a larger, perhaps even sub-ohm, vape device.
What to Expect from the Smok Nord C
Smok Nord C is a chunky pod mod that is noticeably textured. Smok combined ombre panels with sleek black plastic elements to create an aesthetically pleasing, sophisticated-looking device.
The 0.69-inch LED screen displays your wattage, volts, ohms, puffs, and remaining battery life. It isn’t one of the most dazzling LED displays, but it features all the essential elements for vapers who want a personalized puff.
To the left of the LED screen, two controls allow you to lock your metrics in place. You can also clear the puff count by holding the left control button and the fire button at the same time, which is a nice little addition. It’s a good time to mention that Smok Nord C has a manual fire button, which might throw some vapers off.
Smok Nord C comes with a mesh 0.16ohm coil that supports DTL vaping and a DC 0.6ohm coil that supports loose MTL hits. Ultimately, this pod mod is designed for DTL puffs, and it promises an immense amount of vapor.
This pod mod features an adjustable airflow that allows adventurous vapers to play with different vaping styles. As well as the two coils that are included in the kit, Smok Nord C is also compatible with two coils from the Smok RPM family, the DC 0.25ohm coil and the Meshed 0.23ohm coil.
Vapers can choose from Cyan Purple, Green Yellow, Matte White, Orange Blue, Pink, Pink Purple, Transparent Black, Transparent Blue, and Transparent Red exteriors.
Who Is It For?
DTL vapers who appreciate tactile, lightweight, and chunky pod mods that deliver impressive clouds.
Smok Nord C is full of contradictions. Standing at just 110mm tall and weighing just 77g, you would be forgiven for thinking that it’s an unassuming device. Look a little closer, and you’ll see that the lightweight exterior features a satisfying dimpled texture and a modern ombre style.
The manual draw feature isn’t ideal for me, but it is consistent with the tactile style of the device. It’s very easy to remove and reinstall the pod, so I’ve got no concerns about refilling. It even slots into the device with a satisfying click, which is an added reassurance against leaks.
As promised, the Meshed 0.16ohm coil produces a satisfying DTL hit and dense vapor, but the 0.6ohm coil falls flat. Smok gives vapers full control over the airflow, but even with no airflow the device can only produce a loose MTL hit. Nord C is a DTL device through and through, so the addition of the MTL coil seems like a second thought. That being said, the flavor profile still comes through.
Smok Nord C is a lot like the Smok RPM40 model. It features the same coils and is only a little bit taller and slimmer than the Smok Nord C. Ultimately, the choice between these two models rests on your preferences. If you want a lightweight, tactile device that delivers satisfying DTL vape hits, Smok Nord C is perfect for you.
