This compact pod system is designed with both style and functionality in mind.

It is powered by a 1150mAh battery and features adjustable airflow, three power levels, and two coil options (0.3Ω & 0.8Ω).

The Bottom Line

The Crown B is a very impressive and sleek pod system. It’s compact, well-built, and has enough unique styling to make it stand out. It also delivers fantastic flavor from both included coils and can provide an impressive vape experience for MTL and DTL vaping. However, it won’t suit those that like a very tight MTL draw – highly recommended.

Design & Build Quality

When it comes to design, the Crown B Pod Kit is a testament to Uwell’s attention to detail. The device sports a sleek, gunmetal color that exudes a sense of sophistication. 

The Crown B measures 92mm x 42mm x 18mm and weighs 86g. Its compact size makes it highly portable, fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand or slipping easily into a pocket. 

Despite its small size, the device feels sturdy and well-built, with a quality that’s immediately noticeable as soon as you pick it up.

While the Crown B does share some similarities to other pods of this format, Uwell has been very particular about keeping things clean and sleek.

The pod illustrates this perfectly, as you have the fill port and adjustable airflow neatly tucked away on the pod that can only be accessed when removed. While that is a minor functionality drawback, it keeps the Crown B looking elegant. 

There are other design choices for the Crown B that make it very distinguished.

On the side of the device, you have an electronic circuit pattern that is backlit by LED lights. Depending on your battery status, it will glow Green, Blue, or Red.

There’s no way to switch these LEDs off, so it’s not the ideal stealth device to use in a dark room. However, that being said, it’s not too in your face, and most will find the styling of this panel quite eye-catching.

Then there is the fire button and rotational dial on the side of the device. The button is very responsive and clicky, and the dial works well to adjust power.

I must admit that while I absolutely love the styling of this button and it’s a real stand-out piece of the design. In reality, its functionality is somewhat limited, as it’s only there to adjust the power setting, which you will very rarely do.

On the base of the Crown B, you will find the USB-C port for charging the inbuilt 1150mAh battery. Thankfully this supports 5V/2A fast charging.

Overall I think the Crown B is one of the most stylish and sleek pod systems I have seen this year. I love the Gunmetal grey finish and build quality of the device, and the design has enough unique elements that make it highly appealing.

Features

The Crown B Pod Kit comes with all the features you need for good performance and usability for a pod system.

It has a 1150mAh battery, which is ample for a device of its size. The battery supports 5V/2A fast charging and will take approximately 40 minutes to completely charge.

The device also supports three power levels, with a power range of 13 to 35W. There are no details on the wattage/voltage of each power setting, but I guess that will depend on the coil attached.

However, adjusting power is very easy. You simply press the fire button 3 times. Then scroll the dial to choose the power levels.

Green light = High

Blue light = Medium

Red light = Low

The Crown B also features a precision airflow system on the pod, which is adjustable. This allows you to fine-tune your draw, from MTL draw to direct-to-lung (more on this later). 

The device also supports both button and draw activation, adding versatility.

The Crown B Pod Kit has an LED light indicator that acts as a battery meter. It will display Green when at full battery level, Blue when at Medium, and Red when it is low. 

Operating the Crown B is a straightforward affair, with the following controls:

• 5 x Fire button = On/Off
• 3 x Fire button = Enters power selection (rotate the dial to cycle through and Fire to select)
• 2 x Fire button = Draw activation only (Locks manual firing)

Pods & Coils

The Crown B Pod Kit comes with a 3.5ml capacity pod and two coil options: 

• PA Coil 0.3Ω M: 25-35W (DL to RDL)
• PA Coil 0.8Ω M: 15-18W (RDL to MTL)

The Uwell PA coils are push-fit and simply slot into the pod’s base.

The pod is tinted but transparent enough to see your juice level through. It has a fill port on one side, which is covered by a rubber plug. It’s a relatively ample-sized fill port, so it should accommodate most bottles.

On the other side of the pod is the airflow adjustment slider, which is quite effective. You slide down for a more open draw and upwards for a tighter draw.

The draw will depend on the coil attached, and while the Crown B can cater to MTL and DTL vaping, don’t expect to get a super tight MTL draw from it.

The pod also features a removing 510 drip tip, and the kit includes two different options, which is excellent. One is a more open bore for DTL vaping, while the other is for MTL vaping. You could also choose to use your own if you wish.

The pod is easy to install and remove from the device. I had no issues with my time testing it. There was no excessive wiggling and certainly no leaking.

Performance

The performance of the Crown B Pod Kit is nothing short of impressive. 

Both the 0.3Ω and 0.8Ω coils deliver exceptional flavor and a pure satisfying vape.

The 0.3Ω can really chuck out the vapor and is perfect for DTL vaping. However, even with the airflow completely wide open, it’s still a somewhat restricted DTL vape.

The 0.8Ω coil also delivers fantastic flavor for MTL vaping. However, even while adjusting the airflow on the pod, you can only really go from a medium to a loose MTL draw. I don’t think it will satisfy those true tight MTL lovers.

That being said, it was perfectly fine for my style of MTL vaping, and I’m used to the looser MTL draw of the Caliburns, and it’s not too dissimilar (perhaps a little more open).

The draw activation feature works flawlessly, providing a smooth and consistent draw every time. The button activation is equally reliable, but I preferred to switch it off to prevent accidental firing while in my pocket.

There is a noticeable difference when adjusting between the three power levels with each coil. However, I just left it on the medium setting and was perfectly happy with the experience. 

As I said, it makes the nicely designed dial a little obsolete.

The battery life of the Crown B is good. It holds up extremely well when used in MTL mode and will easily see you through a day of vaping. Your mileage will vary a little when using it in DTL mode. Thankfully it tops up quickly with the fast charging.

Overall I’m really impressed with the vape quality delivered by the Crown B, and it is a very stylish little unit. I’m a little disappointed with the precision airflow not covering all types of draw, but it will definitely suffice for most vapers.

Verdict

In conclusion, the Uwell Crown B Pod Kit is an excellent pod system.

It comes in a sleek, compact design with a high-quality build and has all the features you need in a good pod kit.

The 0.3Ω and 0.8Ω coils deliver fantastic flavor and performance, and the adjustable power and auto-draw trigger work flawlessly.

The airflow adjustment works well but will only cover you for a restricted DTL to medium MTL. So might not be the best choice for those that like a tight MTL draw.

In short, the Uwell Crown B Pod Kit is one of the most stylish pod kits I’ve seen this year and is a worthy addition to the Crown series. For those that like a looser draw, the Crown B is highly recommended.
