The Vaporesso Luxe Q2 and Q2 SE are the latest pod vapes in the ‘Luxe’ range from Vaporesso.

Both the Q2 and Q2 SE features an in-built 1000mAh battery and Vaporesso’s axon chipset.

There’s no adjustable power on either device; they are straightforward, easy-to-use pod vapes.

The Q2 includes fully adjustable airflow to cover the full MTL draw range. While the more pared-down Q2 SE has fixed airflow

Both devices have USB-C charging. The Q2 is slightly faster with 2A compared to the SE’s 1A charge rate.

The Q2 is available in 5 sophisticated colors: Orange, Black, Blue, Grey, and Green.

The Q2 SE is available in 8 colors: Graffiti Pink, Abstract Green, Digital Blue, Fashion Black, Lilac Purple, Space Grey, Mint Green, and Pearl White.

Design & Build Quality

Cracking open the box reveals devices with Vaporesso’s signature luxe styling.

The Q2 instantly stands out with its sleek faux leather panel bearing the company logo. The material looks and feels high-end, providing a comfortable, non-slip grip.

The Q2 SE, on the other hand, comes at aesthetics from a very different approach.

On the ‘Graffiti Pink’ variant we have in for review, Vaporesso has gone down a completely different path with the styling and incorporated punk-style graffiti behind a transparent lower half – which seems to be the popular trend of the moment.

Luxe Q2 - SE Pattern 2

I think it’s very disjointed from the traditional Luxe pod styling – which I always assumed stood for ‘luxury.’ There’s nothing luxurious about its styling compared to the Q2.

Fortunately, Vaporesso does have some more sophisticated versions of the Q2 SE that come in the following colors: Lilac Purple, Space Grey, Mint Green, and Pearl White.

Both devices are similar in form and dimensions, with the Q2 measuring 96.8x26x18.6mm.

They both hit that sweet spot for pocketable pods, with excellent curved edges for ultimate ergonomics and hand feel.

I really think Vaporesso has nailed the finish on the Q2 model. The anodized metal contrasts tastefully with the leather or plastic. Fingerprints don’t stand a chance against the matte textures.

Overall, it just exudes an air of understated elegance.

Luxe Q2 - Leather

Build quality is excellent across the board, as expected from Vaporesso. Obviously, it feels a little more premium on the Q2 with its zinc alloy chassis and leather combo.

However, the Q2 SE feels well constructed as well. It just lacks that ‘luxe’ look in this more plasticky variant.

The significant differences between the two models are the Q2 has adjustable airflow and a more granular battery gauge.

The battery gauge is a nice LED strip that blends into the leather panel on the front of the device – more on this later. The SE just has a single LED light up front.

Adjusting airflow on the Q2 is effortless and precise thanks to the raised control knob on the side of the device. It clicks through the range with satisfying tactility. And it stays firmly in place once set.

The SE just settles for airflow inlets on the side that cannot be adjusted.

Both devices utilize the same 3ml capacity Luxe pods; there’s been a slight upgrade to them, which we’ll cover later.

The pods snap securely into place with strong magnets, ensuring no accidental detachments. Vaporesso seems to have perfected the pod connection across their devices.

Luxe Q2 - Charge ports

The Q2 and Q2 SE both have a USB-C port on the base for charging the internal 1000mAh battery.

Overall, I really like what Vaporesso has done with the design of the Q2; it’s sophisticated and modern.

The SE would appeal more to me in one of the more subtle designs. However, I’m sure many will like the funky graffiti styling.

Features & Functions

The Luxe Q2 and Q2 SE both pack an in-built 1000mAh battery.

Charging the Q2 is a rapid affair courtesy of 2A quick charging support. The included USB-C cable juices up the battery from empty in as little as 30 minutes.

The SE charges slower at 1A, so expect double the charge time. As it’s more affordable, I guess corners had to be cut somewhere.

The Q2 incorporates adjustable airflow. A sliding control on the side allows you to tune the draw to your liking. It can shift from loose MTL all the way to a tight, cigarette-like inhale.

The SE has a fixed airflow, which settles for a medium MTL draw.

An LED battery life indicator is tastefully implemented on both models. It provides at-a-glance status without being overly bright or flashy. The strip LED light on the Q2 fits the luxe styling well.

The LED indicator will flash in red while charging and stay on green while fully charged.

  • Green = 70%~100%
  • Blue = 30%~70%
  • Red = 0~30%

Both devices are free from any manual controls or buttons and rely on the auto-draw for firing. As expected, it works flawlessly with both models.

Pods & Coils

The Luxe Q2 kits include either one or two pod options catering to different MTL vaping preferences.

The Q2 comes with:

  • 1 x 0.6Ω Mesh Luxe Q Pod
  • 1 x 1.0Ω Mesh Luxe Q Pod

While the Q2 SE only comes with one pod, which is actually the 0.8Ω Mesh Luxe Q Pod.

Inside all the pods is Vaporesso’s improved COREX heating technology, which aims to deliver excellent flavor reproduction and longevity while preventing dry or burnt hits.

It’s worth noting that there are two different variations of each pod. In the US, each pod has a 3ml capacity. It is an entirely transparent pod that has a side-fill port.

In the EU, due to TPD restrictions, the pods only have a 2ml capacity. These pods also have a top-fill method that we’ve seen before from Vaporesso.

We actually have the EU pods in for review, but I’m informed by Vaporesso that there is no difference in performance from either style – it’s just the capacity and fill method.

All Luxe pods are cross-compatible across all Vaporesso’s Luxe devices. So those with other Luxe kits can use Q2 pods and vice versa. I love this flexibility from Vaporesso and wish other manufacturers would keep things more compatible.

Performance

It’s no surprise to anybody who has used a Vaporesso pod before that both the Luxe Q2 and Q2 SE deliver an excellent vape experience.

The flavor and draw quality stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best pods out there.

I think Vaporesso has struck gold with their COREX mesh coils, as they deliver outstanding flavor consistent throughout the pods’ life.

In my opinion, there’s no real difference between the pods when it comes to flavor production. It really is just down to the power and warmth of vape.

The 0.8Ω pod is actually my favorite for MTL vaping, as it delivers a warm vape while maintaining good battery life. It pairs excellently with both devices, and I’m happy this is the one they included with the Q2 SE.

The 0.6Ω definitely gives you a more punchy, warm vape with extra vapor. However, even with the airflow wide open on the Q2, you are still at a loose MTL draw, not a restricted DTL.

These Luxe devices are solely for MTL vaping. You’re best looking at a Luxe Pro if you want DTL vaping.

The 1.0Ω still delivers excellent flavor. It’s better suited to those who like a tight MTL draw, and it works great with the airflow closed right off on the Q2.

That’s really where the main difference lies between the two devices. I think the Q2, with its adjustable airflow, just gives you that edge to tailor the vape to your preference with greater flexibility of pod choice.

The Q2 SE, with its fixed medium MTL airflow, is best suited to the 0.8Ω pod.

A quick word for the auto-draw trigger on both devices – it’s flawless and always has been on Vaporesso pod kits.

I love that both devices have the same size 1000mAh battery, which is excellent for this size pod kit.

It does an excellent job of getting you into a second day of vaping. In fact, most of the time with the 0.8Ω, I was getting two full days.

The charging speed is great with the Q2, getting you fully charged in 30 minutes. That’s the only other sacrifice you make by going with the more affordable SE; it will take 60 minutes to charge.

I know there’s not much more to these devices, no adjustable wattage or LED screen. But honestly, they don’t need them, and I didn’t miss having those features. They do exactly what you want from an affordable pod system. They are easy to use and deliver an excellent vape experience.

Verdict

The Vaporesso Luxe Q2 and Q2 SE are excellent pod vapes that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

The pods deliver fantastic flavor and a consistent vape throughout.

If you are not fussed about adjustable airflow or fast charge times, then the Q2 SE is a great choice. Especially if you like a more funky design.

If, like me, you like a little more control over the draw and prefer a more sophisticated-looking pod vape – then it’s the Q2.

It’s also worth noting that you can get almost equal performance from the Vaporesso Xross series in a slightly different form factor.

Personally, I prefer the Q2 styling and form factor over all the others. For vapers looking for an easy-to-use pod vape that delivers excellent performance, you can go wrong with any of these new Luxe pods.
