VooPoo Drag 3 Kit | Preview

What is it?

The VooPoo Drag 3 Kit is the latest edition to the ever-popular Drag range by VooPoo.

It’s safe to say the original Drag 157W was one of the most popular box mods on the market. VooPoo even saw great success with the Drag 2 and Drag Max Plus follow-ups, and more recently have been killing it with their Drag S/X pod kits.

Therefore it’s no surprise that with the Drag 3 kit, VooPoo is trying to take the best parts of all those previous devices and even take it up a gear.

The Drag 3 kit is a dual 18650 device that has a power range between 5-177W.

It comes with VooPoo’s latest chipset, the GENE.FAN 2.0, which not only promises super-fast firing but plenty of modes on offer:

• Smart – this automatically selects correct output for installed coil 
• RBA – full variable wattage output control.
• Super – allows you to go higher than 81W in RBA mode, the Super Burst mode automatically kicks in.
• Temperature control – full temperature control (needs to download and install via update) 

The Drag 3 also features a Type-C USB port for charging, which is capable of fast 2A balanced charging.

The form factor and design of the Drag 3 is unmistakably a Drag device. It features a Zinc Alloy frame with leather grip panels and the typical huge ‘Drag’ branding on the side.

There’s also a 1.08-inch color display to display all your necessary vape info.

The real crossover with the rest of the VooPoo line comes with the included TPP pod tank.

VooPoo has realized they are on to a winner with their great performing interchangeable pods for devices, so it makes sense to include one here instead of a different tank.

The TPP pod tank comes with a 510 base so it can be attached to the Drag 3 kit (or any other device for that matter)

The pod connects to the 510 base with magnets (just like the recent Drag devices), and it has a 5.5ml capacity (2ml TPD) and bottom fill port.

The pod uses VooPoo’s new range of TPP coils, which they claim have more efficiency and faster heat-up speed. 

The kit comes with the following 2 included: 

• TPP-DM1 – 0.15ohm mesh coil
• TPP-DM2 – 0.2ohm mesh coil

The 510 base is also compatible with VooPoo PnP pod tanks, and of course, you can always rock your own tank on top of the Drag 3 as it has a standard 510 connector.

The Drag 3 Kit is available in 5 colors: Classic, Marsala, Prussian Blue, Sandy Brown, and Smoky Grey.

Who is it for?

Vapers looking for a top of the range and versatile dual battery box mod, especially those who have already invested in the VooPoo ecosystem.

I know I’m not alone in being quite excited at the thought of a new Drag device, and by the looks of it, the Drag 3 is not going to disappoint.

I love the fact that VooPoo has stuck to the same design form for the Drag 3, even if it does mean keeping that overbearing ‘Drag’ branding.

I also think it’s an incredibly smart move to transition the Drag mods into using the pod-style tank while also keeping the 510 for use with other tanks.

There’s no denying that the PnP pods have been an enormous success and deliver an outstanding vape experience. So being able to use them on here with the 510 adapter and then switching them onto a smaller device like the Drag X will be very handy.

The same applies to the new TPP pod, as I assume that will work with other VooPoo devices, and the 510 adapter will definitely allow you to use it on other mods.

We will have to wait and see how good the new TPP coils perform compared to the PnP coils, but VooPoo rarely seems to be putting a foot wrong at the moment, so I have high hopes.
