Freemax Galex Kit | Preview

Freemax has created some of the best-loved devices in recent years, including devices from the Marvos Range, Twister Range, and Galex Range. The Galex kit is a more minimalist version of the Freemax Galex Nano. Standing at just 107mm tall and just 23mm wide, Freexmax Galex can fit snugly in your hand or pocket. It is made from resilient Zinc Alloy, and it weighs just 48g.

This pod system is a sleek, streamlined option for vapers who appreciate the sort of light displays that are more common on advanced sub-ohm kits. You can choose between Unicolor and Multicolor modes, or turn the lights off entirely. When you activate the device in either mode, the screen will display colorful lights that Freemax hopes will ‘provide a better interactive experience’. 

It is no surprise that this super sleek device is draw-activated, which is yet another tick for vapers who want a hassle-free system. The body is chamfered, making for a comfortable grip. The only other external feature is the LED light indicator which sits below the screen. 

One pod comes with the device. The 1-ohm GX Mesh coil is pre-installed, and an extra 0.8-ohm GX Mesh coil comes in the box. The 0.8-ohm coil is made for restricted DtL (Direct-to-Lung) vaping, and the pre-installed 1-ohm coil is made for MtL (Mouth-to-Lung) vaping. The pod has a capacity of 2ml, and it is also compatible with the Galex Nano pod system. 

The ergonomic mouthpiece is attached to the replaceable pod, which is both child-resistant and leak-free. It seems like Freemax has created a device that combines the best minimalist features with the aesthetic appeal of a far more advanced device.

The refillable pod is pretty standard, but the mesh coils are far more exciting. Both the coils that are included in the kit have a push-fit mechanism for easy installation, and they benefit from FM SaltCoilTech 4.0 technology. Mesh coils have a far bigger surface area than standard coils, which makes them more responsive. They also heat more evenly than standard coils, meaning they are supposed to last longer. Freemax claims that each coil is good for ten refills. With the amount of modern technology and thought that has gone into the coils, we would say that ten is a good estimate. 

Freemax Galex has a few hidden features which elevate it above the status of a simple pod kit. The small LED light below the display screen has multiple functions. It displays different colors for overtime protection, low battery protection, over charge protection, and atomizer short-circuit protection. Of course, the LED light pales in comparison to the lights on the display screen. To change from Unicolor to Multicolor mode you remove and insert the pod twice within three seconds. This might be a problem for vapers who struggle with fine motor skills. 

Most vapers have come to expect an adjustable airflow option. The Galex pod system has two small airflow holes on each side of the exterior. You can put your finger over the holes to restrict the airflow, but otherwise you should expect a tight MtL draw. 

The 800mAh battery should support a full day of vaping, even for the heavier users out there. That, paired with the device’s short, slim profile, makes it perfect for vapers who travel throughout the day.
