What is it?
The Hellvape Dead Rabbit R Tank is another tank from the ever-popular range of Dead Rabbit atomizers.
Since the original Dead Rabbit RDA, there have been a plethora of Dead Rabbit atomizers that have triumphed in the market. Too many to list here, but some of the popular ones include the recent Dead Rabbit V2 RDA and the Dead Rabbit RTA.
So what’s new about this bunny?
Well, for starters, the infamous ‘bunny ear’ posts are gone as the whole deck has been completely redesigned.
There’s a good reason behind this redesign. As the Rabbit has now gone fully mesh.
The build deck is now a mesh deck configured to mimic the same vertical alignment of mesh coils as those found in sub-ohm tanks.
It’s a unique building system. The build deck has a cylinder that you install your mesh coil and cotton into using the included tool. You then tighten the screws to secure it and snip off any excess cotton.
A little bit tricky to explain, so here’s a video from Hellvape showcasing the design:
They also include five 0.2Ω mesh coils and strips of cotton in the kit so that you can get plenty of practice using it.
As you can see, it’s a bottom airflow RTA, and by the looks of it, the bottom ring is adjustable. Just how much airflow you will get is hard to tell at this stage.
The tank also comes with a top fill system. The top cap is bayonet fitted, so it should be easy to remove when you need a refill.
The Dead Rabbit R Tank comes with a 5ml capacity (straight glass) and a 6.5ml capacity (bubble glass) in the kit. For TPD regulated areas, I believe it will only be a 2ml straight glass included.
The Dead Rabbit R Tank is available in 7 colors Stainless Steel, Gunmetal, Gold, Blue, Rainbow, Matte Black, and Matte Full Black.

Who is it for?
Vapers who want a rebuildable mesh RTA, that delivers excellent flavor.

Too often, we’ve been saying there’s not as much innovation happening these days within the vaping world, with pod mod after pod mod being released. So it’s finally nice to see something a bit different.
I like the look of what Hellvape has done with the build deck of the Dead Rabbit R.
I can’t decide if it’s going to make it incredibly easy for those skeptical about rebuilding with mesh to get into it or whether that build deck is just going to be extremely fiddly.
Thankfully, they include many mesh coils, and you’ve also got to remember that mesh coils provide banging flavor and excellent coil life.
So if the Dead Rabbit R tank can deliver the same flavor as some of the best sub-ohm mesh tanks. It could be a no-brainer as you could potentially just replace the cotton and re-use the mesh time and time again.
In fact, Hellvape claims the Mesh R coils are good for 10 rebuilds. So that’s a hell of a lot of money saved on coils.
Is this innovation in the vaping world? Yes, I believe it is. And knowing just how good those previous Dead Rabbits have been, I’ve got extremely high hopes for this one to be an excellent RTA.
