What is it?
The Smok Morph Pod 80 & Morph Pod 80S Kit are the two latest releases into the pod market by Smok.
They continue the ‘Morph’ range of devices that includes the Morph 219 Kit, Morph 2, and the Morph Pod 40.
There are two different versions on offer – the Morph Pod 80 and the Morph Pod 80S. So what’s the difference between the two pod kits?
The primary distinction between the two kits is the power supply. The Morph Pod 80 features a 3000mAh internal battery, whereas the Morph Pod 80S has a replaceable 18650 battery that is not included.
The charging rate is also different; both kits include a USB Type C connection, and the internal battery version charges at 1.4A, whereas the 18650 version charges at 1.5A.
As for the physical size and styling of the kits, they are pretty much identical in looks.
The output is listed as 5-80W, which I’m guessing only refers to a variable wattage setting – there are no other user modes mentioned.
There is no mention of the screen size for the Morph Pod 80’s. However, it is nicely positioned on one side within the gip panel. It is an OLED-type screen but looks like it’s a simple black and white display. The screen can be rotated to suit your preference.
Beneath the screen are the adjustment +/- buttons that are slightly angled to help them blend in with the styling of the mod.
The device also features a full-length fire bar and houses an adjustable airflow control at the top. The airflow control is a small protruding pin that can be slid left to right.
The pod features a top-fill system and comes with a huge 5ml juice capacity as standard. The TPD versions will obviously be restricted to 2ml.
The Smok Morph Pod 80’s are compatible with the LP2 range of coils. These are the same coils found in the RP4, Nord 50W, and the G-Priv Pod.
Included in the kit is a 0.23Ω mesh coil and a 0.4Ω mesh coil.
The Smok Morph Pod 80 & 80S are available in 8 colors Black, Brown, Grey, Black Blue, Black Red, Black Green, Black Brown, and Black Carbon Fibre.

Who is it for?
Vapers who want a high capacity portable pod kit, offering a wide range of coil options.
While there’s nothing particularly new on offer here, I do like the design that Smok has leaned towards.
Yes, it’s very similar to a lot of other pod kits on the market. But Smok has seemed to reign it in a bit with the styling, and I really like the position of the screen and adjustment buttons.
It’s also great to see a fully adjustable airflow system on the device and a massive 5ml capacity pod.
We know the LP2 range of coils is pretty good on performance, but it would be good to see how well they work in these pod kits with that adjustable airflow.
Overall these could be a solid pair of portable pod kits to pick up if you are a Smok fan.
