What is it?
The iJoy Captain AirGo Pod Kit is the latest pod-style device to hit the market and the next in iJoy’s popular ‘Captain’ range.
There have been plenty of Captain devices released by iJoy, some of which have also been pod devices like the Captain Link or Captain 1500.
However, the Captain AirGo Pod Kit follows a slightly different design path and resembles two recent devices we have previewed, like the Smok Thiner, inspired by the Suorin Air Pro.
The iJoy Captain AirGo Pod does come in slightly thicker at 14mm but is still an incredibly slim device.
It also features a larger capacity pod at 5.5ml, which no doubt will be available in a 2ml for the TPD regions.
The Captain AirGo still packs in some features and aims at a slightly different market with its military-grade ‘Tri-Proof’ design.
Tri-Proof means that the whole device has an IP68 Water, Shock & Dust Proof Rating. Therefore it will be a pretty rugged pod to carry around with you.
The AirGo features a 930mAh internal battery, which is above average for a pod, and also has Type-C USB charging at a 1.5A rate.
iJoy has also managed to include the UNIV Pro 3.0 chipset, which is an update to the UNIV chips found in some of their larger devices.
Sadly this doesn’t bring with it a variable wattage. Instead, it has a constant 3.5V/15W output.
The device can be operated by both auto inhalation or through the designated fire button.
Currently, the pod included (and only one available) for the Captain AirGo is a 0.8ohm mesh coil – which iJoy predicts should last around 16-22ml of e-liquid.
The iJoy Captain AirGo is available in 6 color options: Black, Orange, Army Camo, Blue Camo, Red, and Blue.

We recently previewed the Smok Thiner and were a bit down on it just looking like a replica of the Suorin Air Pro but with a few more features.
There’s a slightly different opinion with the iJoy Captain AirGo.
Yes, in essence, it is the same design format as the above devices. However, iJoy seem to have a more apparent strategy as to who to market the device towards.
The AirGo is also a disposable pod kit and may have fewer features than the Smok Thiner. But it is a rugged device, with its IP68 rating designed to suit outdoor types that need a small device on the go.
iJoy also has a better track history when it comes to coils, and MTL draws. So the Captain AirGo could suit MTL vapers. Sadly without adjustable airflow, though – we’ll just have to wait and see what type of experience it delivers.
